  1. Reported is the operable word.

At the end of the day business fundamentals come into play. Man U have a debt to turnover ratio of 3 and last year's cost of servicing the debt was pushing 50% of turnover.

I am not saying the Man U global brand is not extremely valuable but a couple of season's coming 5th in the Premiership are as unsustainable for the Mancs as one was for Ridsdale's Leeds - that's why we are seeing relatively free wheeling Manc spending (probably Rooney-esque deals with a huge amount backended and very contingent for the two youngsters). Its all a huge gamble by the Glazers which is working because Ferguson is a genius (unlike Benitez).

Abramovich has the real estate value of Stamford Bridge to fall back on. It seems the Glazers are banking on the Manc followers swallowing a near 100% increase in costs over 5 years to pay for their chancing.

When in the last 15 years have United finished outside the top 3. As it stands their current squad will retain the Premiership nevermind finsih outside the top 4.As much as I would like it to happen United will always be amongst the richest & most attractive clubs in terms of supports and proposed business takeovers. Even if they did get themselves into serious financial trouble, the list of proposed buyers would be huge due to their legacy and global their brand.

You talk about their debt increasing by over 50%- United’s answer will be to increase stadium size & ticket prices as they have done & possibly bump up merchandize price & sales drive in the lucrative Asian markets. As the tiger economies grow so does the revenue generated by the largest football sides United, Real, Barca etc remember there is much more disposable income in far eastern economies now than their was even 5 years ago. Which is good news for the sports & leisure sectors.

  2. Sorry to disillusion you guys but United will never go into administration , they are the biggest global brand within football especially in the lucrative far eastern markets. If the debt levels become to large then the Glazers will simply sell united on for a small profit, yet I don’t see this happening.

Next season I can see United retaining their crown & reaching at least the semis of the Champs league ( as much as it pains me to say) think of the extra prize money /TV revenue that ill be generated from these two comps alone. Then we have large rises in ticket prices in a 76,000 stadium that has increased in nearly 9000 seats since the Glazers brought the scum. Remember it is reported that the Glazers turned down on offer of over 750 million last month from a Chinese consortium. United along with Real/Barca & perhaps AC are the only clubs in Europe that could handle such debt levels and still be attractive as a business to future investments.

  3. I have to disagree slightly here - we've never really struggled with left backs. From 1980 - Sansom, Pearce, Dorigo...ok, i'll give you that one!

And from 1996 till the last couple of years we have had the likes of ,Andy hinchliffe Chris Powell and is the position where Phil Neville got over 35 caps playing

  4. You would think that with 20 top flight clubs and if need be another 24 championship clubs, there would be at least 1 right back worthy of a call up, instead of playing a CB or LB there?

You would think so but their seems a real lack of decent English right backs outside of Neville & Richards( don’t mention Luke Young in the sentence as England). Funnily enough we have a surplus of very good English left backs, a position historically he have often struggled with

  5. Dyer started his career as a Right-back at ispswich and was converted into an attacking midfielder whilst at newcastle. So therefore any decision, is not as daft as it sounds. However imo i would like to see someone who has played their for their club on a regular basis.

  6. 1. Wonder if Posh has condescended to staying in the same hotel as the rest of the team yet? Or is his inclusion conditional that he turns up alone?

    2. I don't think Gerrards world class by a country mile. Never mind his TV appearences I've seen him live twice this season against us and I've not seen anything close to being world class about him. (Tugay certainly sold him all ends up for the goal at Ewood! ) Sure he can be insirational and strong and has scored some timely goals but world class ? Nah.

Have to disagree their theno, gerrard for me is the best in his postion in the world he has everything in his game + the ability to pretty much play anywhere on a football field. He has practically carried L'pool in europe for the past 3 sesaons and I firmly believe he is Englands best player by a counry mile

  7. Well, you suggesting that we sign Doyle is entirely the same as a Reading fan suggesting that they could sign Bentley, McCarthy or MGP.

Of course we could sign Reading players if we had something to offer them (CL football, first team football if they are not getting it where they are, more money, playing in front of more fans etc). All we can realistically give Doyle is intertoto cup footie, and I don't think its an outrageous statement to say I severely doubt he will give a toss about that. If Reading got into the intertoto and we didn't can you imagine pedersen bashing down the door of the Mad-jet-ski stadium?

When was the last time we signed one of the top players of another Prem club which had not been relegated or come to the end of their career where they were? That would be Robbie Savage who only came because he loves Hughes.

We are not in a position to sign other Prem team's key players. If we want quality we have to wait for them to either be upset/thrown out (Roberts/Bellamy) or ignored (Freidel/Tugay/Bentley/Warnock), or we look abroad (Prem offers much more money- mcCarthy) or down the divisions (Reid).

The only clubs that can buy out of other Prem teams first XIs are the 4 CL clubs, and (far more worryingly for Rovers) Spurs, Newcastle and increasingly West Ham, Portsmouth, Aston Villa who have wadges of cash to spread around like there is no tomorrow and in Villa, Newcastle and tottenham's case can point to large fanbases and theoretical long term potential.

Hughes' will look for more delightfully random purchases. And why not with his bizarre track record?

+ The fact we could offer double any wage offer that reading could make

  8. All the keepers mentioned above are not good enough. Kasper is one of my reserve keepers, however he isnt even the best one in that squad.

I need a quality young keeper that isnt going to cost me over £5 million, but can compete with Issakson for the shirt!

In my 2nd season iv just won the league, runner up in league cup and got the last 16 in the champs league - With an average age of just 22!

You are kiding me right Ustari & Afinkeev are the best on the game in terms of stats/PA/Ca go to the official boards and ask peeps on their. Ive seen them two & Ochoa go for over 40 mill. I think youve got a @#/? keeper in Isakson in any case. A 19 year old Ustari is better than him

    Gk guide

  9. Good formations to play when your new to the game and your squad isnt the best is a 1-3-4-2

Play with the sweeper and play with your defence pushing up.

Play both your wingers with small arrows going forward and set the team to hard tackling and mixed passing.

Aslong as you stick with a tactic long enough it will eventually start working.

In my 1st season i finished 4th. Im in my second season @ Man City and i am currently 2nd, 1 point behind Arsenal, still in the champs league and in the final of the league cup.

Im on the lookout for a talented young keeper, any ideas anyone?

As Eddie says Enymea is good as is Kaspar Schiemichal (spelling)

    The best young GK's are

    Ustari ( Indepediente)

    Ochao ( Mexiican)

    Afinkeev ( S.moscow)

    Marcelo Grohe

    amelia (livorino)

After 2009/10 Ben Amos from man u is pretty steady

  10. I find that hard to beleive. I havent changed any of the stats and I finished the first season in 5th with Rovers? Only brought in Lehbohng Mokoena on a free who I couldnt play anyway.

Well ive spoken to Marc duffy about it on the official boards, and he ( although briefly ) said that i may have a point, I did this by comparing the stats, CA,PA of rovers with the likes of everton, spurs etc. who in reality with fully fit squads are equal. Not on the game however - check out the stats of cahiill ( and Ca/PA) with someone ike bentley or gamst who are equal in terms of ability in real life but no on the game.

  11. I really need help on tactics for Rovers, I can't keep them out of the relegation dogfight.

I have tried everything fro tactists to blatantly cheating with Jpee FFM Editor.

Is this just another conspiracy against Rovers from the pwoer that be?

No but the guy that does the research for rovers is rubbish, he seriesousley underates our players compared to players of simalar clubs. Therefore rovers struggle on the game.

  12. Im not 100% sure mate as im not really big into tech house and tech trance, just proper techno!

From your list though, i have to pick out Tom Wax; Daybreak is such a class track!

    Do you DJ yourself?

Used to a bit mate not so much lately still give vestax a spin know and then but more into bands these days + the overall quality of dance music aint as good as it was a few years ago. You DJ mate?

  13. Yup, thats happened to me too. Sometimes though it does explain saying they wont accept a bit from a rival club or I might have demanded a decision to soon. But yes, most of the time it is annoying when you miss out on a player this way.

Its also when youve fallen out with their manager, or made comments about the selling club. I had this problem when managing Boca. I fell out with about 6 other managers & they would no longer deal with me in terms of transfers , no matter how much i bidded.

  14. presty - mc's ruin music :P

bazza - love sven vath!! would call his stuff more minimal techno than tech trance though, used to listen to sound of the sixth season over and over on my ipod!! now ive moved onto sound of the seventh season! cant wait to see him at creamfields. i prefer proper techno though; you should get over to leeds some time for the dirty disco! dave clarke is playing on bank holiday sunday 6th may cant wait!!

What you classing as proper tech ? id say Chris Liebing , Tom Wax , Si Begg , Thomas Schumacher, Adam Beyer

BTW Dave Clark is a legend

  15. But Oasis, I feel were more influenced by the Stone Roses than the Beatles.

After listening to Dance Anthems last Sunday and hearing some travesty of a cover of Bianry Finary's 1998 (There was singing over it!!!!The HORROR!! THE INFAMY!!! etc) I was having a mooch through my old Dance/Trance collection (1995 - 2003 - the best years of decent House and Trance) could I recommend that people have a look at

    Mario Picotto - Lizard

Ooo the nostalgia's come flooding back, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Cream, Globalgathering, Glow Sticks, sweat dripping off the ceiling at the Sanctury, happy days. Right im off to find my whistle

anything to with Picotto is good by me the mans awesome live, IMO i think the roses were better than oasis anyway

  16. How big is your squad Eddie? 25 Players I have 6 Englishmen. Have to agree to disagree about the first 11, England don't have the creative quality of Ribery, Malouda, Govou, Anelka and Henry, the toughness in midfield of Makelele and Veira, the quality of depth in the keeping department or the finishing power of the strikers.

    Coupet, Frey, Landreau

Abidal, Thuram, Sagnol, Escude, Silvestre, Gallas, Carragher, Terry, Chimbonda??

Lampard, Gerrard, Viera, Ribery, Makelele, Malouda

Trezeguet, Anelka, Cisse, Rooney, Owen, Henry, Govou

Here is Neekoy again spouting off this anti English crap we had this debate about Spain and England at this rate you’ll be telling us that Craig moore is better tan JT and Cahill better than Gerrard , the problem is not talent it is desire and tactics. How are chimbonda and Escude, Silvestre better than wood gate. Silvestre is one of the worst defenders in the prem. Beckham Lennon and cole are also better than Malouda and are at least on par with Ribery. Then you’ve got cisse in front of a raft of better English forwards the guy is abysmal

Coupet, Frey, Landreau - Is this meant to be a joke? Not 1 English goalie is better than any of them are you for real

In a starting XI based on natural ability alone, you would say that Viera, Henry and Ribery would get into a combined XI and possibly Willy sagnol instead of G Neville. Apart from that, you are letting you’re obvious bias against the English rule your decision making and im not even that bothered about the current overpaid, big tome Charlie lot. You cannot doubt the obvious natural talent there though
