  1. Don't understand why many posters view the Dunn transfer as a complete waste of time and money but at the time the Jeffers signing was viewed as a potential masterstroke, cheap, low wages, low risk - pay as you play, big upside etc.

At his best Dunn is one of the top few midfielders in the Country, but as with Bellamy for a period it wouldn't matter if it was Pele, they're no good if they're injured all the time.

On balance though for the price I think Dunn would be a good signing with better chance of success than Jeffers. Jeffers has shown little over the last five years to indicate he still has "it" when fit whereas Dunn by all accounts has been very impressive on the occasions he has played.

I reckon Jeffers will come good, the players in trainning say he has been on fire, it will be intresting to see what Hughes does when he is back fit, to see if he drops Nonda or not

I think the Dunn deal has already been done the way he was talking last night on SSN, i just hope he stays of them mince pies

  2. Just been down to Ewood to get Arsenal tickets and a couple of extras for Liverpool. In the five minutes I was there no less than three people were turned away from the next window as they wanted to buy tickets for Boxing Day but had no previous history of purchase. Clearly a couple could have been Liverpool fans but one was clearly not - an elderly lady with a Blackburn accent whose grandson worked at Ewood. Now I know why it's done but I just wonder whether we can really afford to be doing this now. It's not as if there won't be tickets being bought for Liverpool fans in Rovers' areas. Maybe we the club should be reserving a small part of the ground to put these sales in which can be closely monitored and and Liverpool supporters removed immediately?

Do they still ask them silly questions at the ticket office to prove that you are Blackburn fan?

like who's plays in goal for Rovers?

that happend to one of my mates once and he just couldn't stop laughing at the silly woman

  3. I stand by what I said when Jeffers first arrived - he'll flop.

I know he's done quite well as a sub but I just do not think that we are the club to resurrect his career. He needs starts, which he won't get here. He's the sort of player, who if off-form, is a total waste of space.

I know that sounds obvious, but some players have physical attributes - like Kuqi with his strength and height, or Bellamy with his pace, which enable them, despite being out-of-form, to pull something out of the bag to create/score. Jeffers has neither strength nor pace nor an abundance of skill. He has good anticipation, decent movement and a tidy finisher (at his best).

for me he offers more then Nonda he always give 100% and when he gets fully fit i think he will prove to us what he is capable off

  4. Don't believe em. If we were interested in him than I would imagine that he would be at Brockhall for a medical or alternatively some privat hospital in some specialists consulting rooms. The only medical facilities at Ewood relevent to Dunny to be inspected is the stretcher to see if his arse will hang over the sides.

are you not a Dunny fan then?

  5. I would imagine that quite naturally a certain other person has Sydney / Australia in his heart. Whats wrong with that? Just as Benny with SA, Gamst /Norway, Toogs / Istanbul, Brad / US, etc etc. Unfortunately we simply cannot raise a Prem team from Blackburn.

Gaz your malice really is driving you up a blind alley.

btw on this subject I really hope we are doing something to prevent Tugay leaving in Jan / Summer. It's all mighty quiet....... apart from the Tugay to Everton rumours that is.

So do you want a player who does not want to play for us anymore to be Captain of our side? Get real

  6. Must say you two are odd bedfellows except for the fact that one man carrioes a grudge cos he suffered deep humiliation after attempting to diss Neill Neill at Villa Park years ago  ,whilst the other still has never forgiven him for replacing the great John Curtis at rb! (btw just where is Curtis playing his football now?)

Anyway if it's your deepest wish not to play him again taking into account our injury crisis and in revs opinion no youngsters worth a damn, then I assume that you will also take on his wages. He is still being paid whatever whether he plays or not so to let him 'rot in the reserves' a la Abbey would be plain dumb. How easy for him to pull a sicky for December? How easy for him to do Bellamy and lie about staying here? How easy for him to simply do a Todd and fall out publically with the manager? All those would ensure that there would be no injury problem to hinder his transfer but he (and it's rare in this day and age) quite prepared to play his contract out and thats that, and fair play to him for that too.

As for commitment to the Rovers. I dunno but I do know that since I wrongly predicted last January that he would go after the summer world cup, he has displayed hugely more commitment in the games that I have seen than the likes of Nonda, Benny, Todd, MGP, Bentley and Gallagher!

It's the Tim Sherwood, Jason Wilcox, Lee Carsley scenario all over again. Some people must simply need a hate figure to lambast at all times. I wonder who will be next to cop it once Neills gone for without doubt there will surely have to be one for 50% of our followers! Yet another idea for a poll eh guys? btw my money's on either Todd or Savage.

One question for you do you think he should be captain?

  7. How is Lucas Neill taking any of us for a ride? He was alert enough last night to pick up one of the very few decent balls into the box, bring it down and put it in the net. He may be error prone and may want away but he was still playing for us at 92 minutes. i'll take that level of committment till he leaves whenever that may be.

his defending was poor last night i thought, he was not at the races to me his mind was elsewhere

  8. This is so sad. Anyone who won't go to a Rovers game while Neill is still playing is looking for an easy way out of going to games in my opinion. It isn't great that he wants to leave, but I don't think his performances have suffered. Like the rest of the team he hasn't played well recently, but he's been no worse than anyone else. People are specifically targetting certain players (Neill, Benni, MGP and Nonda) and essentially blaming them for the poor performance of the entire team. Grow up folks, I actually found what he did last night reasonably funny and I can understand why he did it.

I wish he did stick two fingers up at us last nigt, then people might realise he doesn't care about the club one bit
