  1. The Libertines are great, but you have to wonder how long the band will go on with no Pete Doherty, I think he's made his own band (also called The Libertines?) so there's going to be some confusion. Hopefully they'll kiss and make up (not literally, although from what I've heard highly possible) because they make some great music. very sure that they have kissed and made up as they are now playing gigs together again, alos a quote from carl in the xmas edition from the nme " I would invite you round for xmas, but you burgled my flat so my dad probably still wants to kill you" great band, hope pete gets his head together and carl can keep forgiving him
  2. a mate of mine went to see them on friday night said they were ace also saw levellers at a festival ages ago and they hardly played any hit songs just a load of dodgy stuff and oh yes they are scruffy something or others
  3. Very much like the current Guns 'n' Roses set-up. It's just Axel Rose and some mates. A friend is always banging on about how he saw them at Leeds two years ago. In fact he saw a bearded, obese Rose and some guy wearing a KFC bucket on his head. hey i went to that festival and thought that guns n roses were fantastic not really been into them before, thought that rose was ace and by heck i would wear a kfc bucket on my head if i could play guitar half as good
  4. wow, doesnt that name bring back some memories of my youth always thought they were a great band but never quite got the recognition they deserved apart from that stupid mulder&scully effort
  5. remembered the band now bruce, elvis costello, dave grohl, steven van zandt, and tony kanal playing bass from no doubt superband :!:
  6. what a top verison that was played with his lead guitar from his band and dave grohl and ? god i have forgotten, a shandy and i could forget anything
  7. hopefully getting into manchester around 8ish anybody any ideas for pubs or even where to get off train cheer the lads onto victory after we have wiped the floor with the aussies
  8. terrorvision - a great favourite of mine, seen them many times live, so many thanks for the info on his new band, will have to look out for them
  9. missed hell is for heroes only saw first 3 and last 3 from metallica as i was at the front for the music system of a down were ok, not overkeen hope u enjoyed the day
  10. hey glad u enjoyed darkness & datsuns thought that datsuns were really cool, even the new songs sound great this early, the guitarists really rock and try to put on a show as well saturday was a great day for me with seeing great bands at the main stage
  11. just got back from leeds festival and they put on a great show as well as sounding cool live.
  12. managed to enter my team yesterday just in time went for lorenzo & thommo & emerton a good start for me yippee
  13. white stripes pulled out, unfortunately its due to his damaged finger from the car crash, they have got black rebel motorcycle club to replace them so it should still be cool yes the darkness are playing at leeds will be on the main stage on the sunday 24th prob 2nd or 3rd band on. I will be looking forward to seeing them, but to write for the nme do you really need anyones sayso coz judging by some of the drivel in the paper this week, i reckon anyone could have a go
  14. Hmmm. It would seem according to Nelly that you are well qualified to write for the NME. nice is a cracking album though, but at least they dont keep harking on about it coz its ages old and not as good as each new band they seem to jump on every week with a debut album
  15. word get around is a great album, then followed s**t im going to leeds for all the days, really looking forward to it, even though white stripes have pulled out
  16. kings of leon is a decent listen indeed to see more of this blatant b****cks advertising you want to try to read the nme more often, cant believe how any decent album out in any month is the best debut album since the last album they liked the month before absoloute drivel!!
  17. I like some of their stuff, but I've got teh album "Maximum High" and didn't like the album tracks too much. Stuff like "Chasing Rainbows", "On Standby", and "Disco Dow" are top. played all 3 of them and they were all ace, all sung fantastically by rick witter and most of the tiny crowd
  18. whilst on the subject of music, does anybody on here like shed7 ?? as last night i went to see them play an one-off acoustic set in a tiny venue in hull, it was just the guitarist and singer and it was amazing
  19. wow, coincedence or what just reading the last 2 posts and jack & megs track 14 comes on my player at work, its one of the 3 or 4 of that album that i really like. got to admit that its a really catchy tune and im just hoping that they will play it live at leeds in the summer.
  20. just got back from seeing john squires at T in the park and have to say he was actually very good, i was a little wary at first but he really seemed to fit as a singer even during made of stone
  21. got track 11 on my pc as work as well as the cd in my car at the moment its an amazing track that keeps me going whilst at work
