Birmingham fans were gutted when he went. I know quite a few who have been saying what a good appointment it is for us so let’s wait and see.
His first game will be against his old team where he’ll be up against Mowbray.

Maybe Venkys knew that JDT was on his way soon and decided to sit on the cash generated by Wharton's sale? Probably a pipe dream but................
JDT didn’t really seem to have much say in the incomings so makes no odds who the head coach is.
I’m still assuming Boughton is here as it’s weird that there’s been nothing from him since the January shit show

He also understands working at a shit show of a club as Birmingham were in a mess when he was there.

Has Boughton actually not said anything since the end of the window over a week ago? Surely he should be making some sort of statement or has he also gone?

So tomorrow we have arguably our biggest game of the season tomorrow and the manager is today saying his goodbyes. So we will be going into that game massively unprepared. Lump on Stoke for the win tomorrow!

GB isn't responsible for sending the paperwork so why should he go. Given the experience Waggott and Silvester have surely they can click the send button
For me it comes down to the statements from last year about the steps he had put in place to ensure this couldn’t happen again, it did happen again. On that basis he has to take some responsibility. He may not be the one to click the button but after last season he needs to be on it and checking.
I’d also argue that his overall record with the transfers justifies a sacking anyway. Spunking £500k on the worst keeper we’ve had at Ewood when we have no money is probably enough to warrant a P45.

Even if it is buttoned up and IS carries the can how on earth does GB have any credibility now?
If he sticks around everyone is going to hate him.
Thought he did okay last season but christ hes had a stinker this year - Leo absolutely disastrous (must be one of the worst rovers signings of all time in terms of negative impact on results), no impact at all from Ennis or Telelovic, and now this.
Only positive for him has been Tronstad.
I wonder if Eustace or whoever the incoming manager is going to accept a DoF on that record...
Yep, following up on my similar comments to yours. His signings probably make for a sackable offence alone.
Leo for half a million is probably the worst of them. Number one target and definitely a vampire keeper.
I can see no value in keeping him based on what he’s delivered. I would think JDT could have picked up some better players through his contacts.

I still find it odd that someone who likes the sound of his own voice as much has boughton does has been silent since the mess occurred which he said could never happen again.
After his statements from last year his position is untenable. He took the blame for Sylvesters cock up last year and assured us that it couldn’t happen again. That alone means it’s time up for him as well.
His silence probably speaks volumes. I’m guessing he’s agreeing a package to leave.

And still not a word from Boughton. Surely after all the shit he spouted about putting things in place he should be called to task on this.

Like I said let's get a new head coach in by PNE game
You also had us to spend £10m plus in the transfer window mate. Doesn’t mean it will happen.

J*B last paragraph is interesting. Something that they have agreed not to share yet, that sounds awfully like a manager having the boot.

Buckley won't be ready for a while but they'll probably rush him back and he'll get re-injured.
Point is though he'll be better in the Wharton role than Moran !
JDT really is just going to have to change things up though and leave the style that has made a major contribution to an awful season.
He played last night. He can’t be that far away surely!

Am I the only one concerned that the fee could have been up to £8million (with sell on clauses) for a 20 year old completely unproven at this level?
Absolutely. When we’d agreed a fee for about half this previously.

Good news going through thanks to the Reading win. Wonder when the draw takes place

I think Chaddy got the number of signings he was expecting but hoping his realism over the last couple of days continues and he can see the window for the failure it was.
I was slightly happier about Fleck until I heard that he’s been out injured most of the season and has managed 89 minutes in total so far since August 😞

Loans loans and more loans. Fleck might be a decent signing. But it will be back to square one in the summer with a considerably weaker squad. Jdt will walk. Then we'll really be in the shit
Technically Fleck isn’t a loan.

Played a good number of games in the championship last season. Will be a useful player for us over the coming months. We’re still weaker but I’d say it’s an ok end to the window.
Think the Liverpool lad will be a squad filler after reading a few comments so he’s the one I’m probably least convinced by.
-
John Fleck. Decent signing who will be coming to start
-
Let’s hope it’s a good one. One good loan signing could be the difference. A top quality loan (Doak or someone of that calibre) could end on a positive.
-
My only hope with McGuire is that he wants to learn. JDT wasn’t a bad striker and could improve him as long as his attitude is right and he’s keen to learn. It will be a step up for him but at least it’s not stepping up from youth football.
-
Ennis would have had a signing on bonus so I doubt we’ve even broke even on that deal.

We are considerably weaker coming out of the window than when we went into it. There’s no doubt in my mind that we haven’t strengthened.

If the Liverpool lad is that bad it’ll be spotted pretty quickly in training and I would imagine he’ll be nowhere near our starting line up.

Why have a DoF, really? It's a waste of a wage and I'm sure Tomasson could do the job and come up with better players too.
Exactly what I said earlier Jim. He’d have better contacts and be able to judge a player better than the evidence points towards GB being able to.

Just catching up, has there still been no comment from Greg? Seems odd for someone who seems to like to speak to the press to have zero comment after a window where we sold a player for a record fee, screwed up a signing and then sacked a manager.
Surely any one of those would usually result in some sort of statement
