So is that fewer sold than Burnley, PNE, Blackpool, Bolton, Wigan and just a couple of thousand more than the mighty Accy and Morecambe?
A disastrous decade nearly summed up.

IMO, the adverts on the forum are now less invasive, as they are stacked at the bottom of the page instead of those pop ups (seems to be less of those?).

Nooooooooooo!!!!
Always used to go in there for a pint pre-match until recently where time doesn't allow due to my daughter's commitments.
It was a coke & a bag of ready salted before that when I went in with my dad & his mate. First memories of going to the games start with the Fox & Hounds, so sad.
Hope someone takes it back on post pandemic.
According to Birdy it’s re-opening in September.

Palace recently decided that they were actually founded back in 1861 and not 1905 as they had claimed for the last 100+ years.
I don't know the ins and outs of it but it seems someone has managed to find a link to the original Crystal Palace team and that's enough for them to claim status as one of the oldest clubs in the world.
Whether it is actually true or not I doubt they care as it seems to be all about proving that they are older/more historical than their London rivals.
Bit like when folk try and claim Stanley (third team to come out of Accrington as late as 1968) as being ‘Founder Members’

Unfair to who? Waggott? Well boo bloody hoo.

It’s a politicians answer. Kick the can down the road and everything that is to be ‘looked into’ will be forgotten by the next meeting as there will be a new agenda with the season underway.
Just a sham of a ‘forum’.

Sure I read STs were late on sale and/or well down in numbers sold?
Ergo, like us, ST sales drop, so do crowds.

Always nice to see new contributors. 😁

Ok, still, a bit ‘negative’, of you, no?

Weren’t you on the Mowbray thread the other day calling the set up ‘gutless and embarrassing’

My expectations aren't particularly high - Jack provided memories I never thought I would have as a Rovers fan. All I want is a properly functioning club, and for Jack's legacy to be honoured.
And that’s all I want, we *actually* didn’t have a pot to piss in through much of the 80s, but it was a club you were so proud to support. They did everything they could to put the most competitive team possible on to the pitch.
In contrast, this present set up is a disgrace from top to bottom.

It’s simply the content/social media manager on ‘the socials’ earning his corn, all about the ‘reach’ and ‘impressions’.
So this has been a perfect campaign, right up the street of the FM/FIFA/insta generation.

Really interesting piece. Hope he’s finding a bit of peace and contentment back home.
On a side note, he’s not wrong, is he :
"The higher up you go the more that gets coached into you. Don't lose the ball, don't run with the ball. Pass and move, pass and move. I was a winger who liked to run with it so that sort of stuff gets knocked out of you. You start to lose what got you there in the first place.
"Did I ever enjoy it? Not really. I never came off the pitch thinking I had really enjoyed it. It is all tactical. Even now, when you watch a game of football, it is all tactics. We keep it for 10 minutes, you keep it for 10 minutes. Very few teams go for the jugular.”

To the extent that we might be struggling to meet FFP criteria it's all down to Mowbray's chronic use of resources.
£12m on two guys who have yet to really hit it off.
£2m over two seasons for Mulgrew not to play for us, I've heard Ayala is on £30k p.w. again not playing for us, giving Smallwood and Hart contract extensions when they'd never featured in the first place, a sympathy contract for Gladwin who could never play for us and a completely unnecessary deal for Downing who was subsequently never used. High earners like Evans and Bennett barely featuring.
Then an absolute shed load of money on loan fees which is completely dead money and without wishing to state the bleeding obvious you can't wheel and deal with loan players.
TM and Venus with their feet well under the table, 4 year (FOUR) deal for Pears, big wages for Ayala, Downing etc etc.
The Teesside gravy train rolls ever on to Ewood.

I know a fair few older folk who didn’t even know they were on sale until I told them.
The marketing for your biggest revenue generator (TV rights aside) has to consist of more than a couple of emails, surely?

Well said Locky lad.
This ‘older generation’ having basic standards and expectations of a professional Championship football club with billionaire owners.
They need to get real.

It’s done because they know Leeds will fetch plenty.
Same rationale for ‘Category A’ and ‘A+’.

They are waiting for the shirts to arrive first so Birdy can pose in it up in the Jack Walker rafters…

Not talking about you and appreciate totally that many fans have stopped going due to the ownership.
However Unsall is correct many fans stopped going because we lost our place in the top division. When we have played big clubs in the cups, United and Liverpool then the stadium was a sell out
United was nowhere near sold out in home areas (only about 15/16k Rovers fans were there).
Most clubs don’t lose many ST holders on relegation, indeed we didn’t in 1999… yet 2012 we lost nearly half.
I would have expected to lose some, of course, but nearly HALF?! That is unheard of and it wasn’t because of all those PL glory hunters jumping ship, but the shenanigans of 2011/12, confirming Kean was being kept on just as they went on sale etc.
This club has been a basket case for a decade and the chickens (to coin a phrase) have finally come home to roost this summer.
