  1. Out of interest how much does anyone know how much the venkys stand to earn out of this? Will they demand a % from ticket sales or do they charge a flat fee for use of their venue so to speak. Don't know how these things tend to work.

Not really my cup of tea anyway but I might have been tempted aside from the fact I won't put one penny into the venkys pocket whether it's rovers, Elton John, whoever.

Peterborough have Elton John on too. Here's their chairman's response RE how much they'll get for having him on (taken from Twitter):

Concert promoter & we get a share & council/city profit from 20 odd thousand people spending money that day in city!

  2. Read today that the Alvarez team have offered Golovkin an 8 figure sum to fight, so you never know.

Mayweathers been quoted as saying fighting Golovkin would be 'Easy work' but I doubt Floyd wants to go down that road even at 147 if GGG comes down. But lets face it, Mayweather doesn't need to go out of his way to fight GGG, he's already a legend and has nothing to prove, even if he's a bit of an arse.

Mayweather is the only man on the planet that could make a GGG fight boring. Struggle with Canelo, if he wants the GGG fight why did he dodge him after Khan?

  3. I simply can't see it happening. He'll be absolutely sickened by the power. What GGG did to Martin Murray was frightening.

Can anybody more in the know than me explain the logic for sparring Liam Smith? Obviously he'll have been sparring others too but wouldn't it be better preparing for GGG by sparring super-middles? Or actually will Liam be at that kind of weight with a few weeks still to go before Canelo?

You'd imagine Smith would be well over the catchment weight at this point even with 9 days to go. I've known pro boxers lose a stone in a week and add 4/5 pounds after the weigh in.

  4. Eye In The Sky (2016)

Starring Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman and Aaron Paul.

A fantastic tense thought provoking modern warfare thriller /drama , don't expect action galore and you will not be disappointed.

p.s never in your life will you want to see bread bought so fast :)

    Yeah, great film.

  5. Unfortunately this is what happens when you put high quality footballers on a pitch with low quality footballers. Anyone who has played 5/7/11 a side against even a league 1 striker will tell you the difference in quality.

  6. Thankfully Chris Evans has quit top gear, I think the witch hunt against him has been pathetic and too personal(considering its just a TV show about bloody cars!) but that said he wasn't suited to the show at all and seemed to get more out of his depth as the series went along. I also think the two younger male presenters where just as awful as evans, they're just Clarkson wannabes(even down to the way they speak) but they're pure bbc 'PC' versions of Clarkson and have zero personality or charisma between the two of them, only Le Blanc and the German women came out of it all well for me

Le Blanc comes out of it well, liked Rory Reid. Truthfully struggle understanding ze German. Guy Martin in for me.

  7. Just ctrying to wondering who else could do the job of being the main presenter?

They'd need to have a big personality, really know there motors and be funny.

Nobody springs to my mind(maybe they could get chandler in)

Steve Coogan, Jay Kay, Jodie Kidd, Rowan Atkinson - all massive car fanatics that could host Top Gear easily.

Evans is old news and was trying too hard. His "woo"'s where a blatant attempt to have a catchphrase like Clarkson did. Who that German woman was i'll never know, I have no idea what she was saying.

  8. No points thanks , nice to see your concern.

I've met him quite a few times and know one his uncles who also says he's arrogent . But I give in he's a top bloke that ooozes class you know everything

I can't see Vinjay's problem, you seem to accept reality without much fuss.

  9. He's an arrogent prick . Assault, running people over and other things ( which I won't mention & no not the reason your trying to goad )

He wasn't at all arrogant when I met him. The assault allegations where dropped - boxers tend to find people assume you'll want to fight them, in reality not many boxers enjoy fighting.

He cut some traffic and got fined for driving without due care and attention - a crime equal to speeding. I guess you've not got any points on your license?

  10. Chisora was slapped around the face by the other fighters team, which is why he went nuts. Perhaps rightfully? Although what that many people are doing on stage in such a small room is beyond me, wasn't ever going to finish well.

Big props to Amir for taking that fight, he didn't need too, but wanted to test himself. Thought he gave a decent account of himself until one lapse of concentration. Good to see all the racists pop up after his KO, means I could make sure id blocked them all.

Canelo needs to fight Glovokin now. Perhaps Khan is the big winner here, I'd fight two Canelos before facing one Glovokin.

Amir Khan't glass jaw bully .

Strange position to take on it - not only is he a British fighter on the main stage representing his country, he's also a proud northerner. What reasons could you have for wanting to see him lose, ABBEY?
