  1. Most my blu rays are Disney or Pixar and they pretty much all look great. Ratatouille still looks about the best of the lot.

Disapointed that there's not more Halloween films on tonight I know it's not till Monday but I like a good Friday night horror

    Tom,

I don't know if psychological terror is your cup of tea but "Antichrist" is the most disturbing movie I have seen in a long time. If you have a region free blu-ray player the Criterion Collection blu-ray is outstanding. Be warned though, not at all suitable for anyone who can be offended.

    Cheers.

Out of print on DVD so its ridiculously expensive :(

  2. Best comedy Horror Ive seen is Revenge of Billy Kid...Starts off Old Mcdomald had a farm and on his farm he had a goat..Lots of Dingle like Chararcters in it

I will have to pick that up and give it a go.

Just watched "Alligator" (1980) and "Christmas Evil" (1980) I am on a trip through the year 1980 for a book I am doing. I was utterly surprised about these two, "Alligator" was wonderful action/horror cheese and "Christmas Evil" was a class act in terms of psychological disturbance. I so thought that "Christmas Evil" was going to be utter crap, but was not, by any stretch.

Next on the slate is "Cannibal Apocalypse" (1980) and "Altered States"(1980)

  3. Am a massive Star Wars geek, But the constant tinkering of the trilogy has made me put it on hold.

Han Shooting first, all the added CGI and now Vader screaming no!.

I do want it but only for the Extras, I'm going to wait untill they hopefully release the untouched originals.

Tron Legacy is on my list, Not the greatest film ever but it looks gorgeous.

The new transfer of Pulp Fiction is outstanding, very crisp and the sounds are great. Tarantino personally sat and supervised every aspect of it, and he did it very well.

Lucas can now kiss my rump, bloody "Nooooooooooo" should have left him silent, it made it seem that he was more hard pressed with the decision. And as for the way they have changed Obi Wans scream when scaring away the Sandpeople...

  4. Finished "Choke" by Chuck Palahniuk... laughed my ass off and was disturbed at the same time. If you have ever wanted a glimpse into the world of a sex addict who likes to pretend he is chocking in restaurants so someone will love him, have at it.

and "Stir of Echoes" by by Richard Matheson. I would feel rather more for the main character if he were not such a soppy tool. Good book though and didn't see the end coming, well I kind of did, but not quite like that. Oh, it also does not matter if you have seen the slightly rancid movie, as it is nothing like it. Much like the abortion of "I am Legend"

  5. Thats the best bit of the film.

The glass shatters into literally 3 pieces.

I heard they are making a Piranha 2, where they infiltrate a theme park! Basically another Jaws 3 then!

A scene only bettered by yon posh dude stuck in the throat of the shark still clutching a grenade.

Yes and it is going to be named "Piranha 3DD" hu hu hu... no really, it is.

Going to be directed by John Gulager, the winner of "Project Greenlight" in the US, director of the fantastic horror/neoB Movie, "Feast" (everyone should watch that movie it is absolute class in a cheesy way,) and son of Clu Gulager - the star of the epic "Return of the Living Dead" (2nd best zombie movie ever.)

  6. I watched Jaws 3 the other day, words cannot describe how bad the effects are in the last scene of that film.

But I was talking about the B movie remake of the B movie with added DD's.

Yes Jaws 3 effects were pretty gash. The shark, when it is about to come through the window, looks like it has just smelled a vicious crap.

  7. Whizzed through Piranha yesterday (stopping at various points  ) and have to say it looked so shockingly bad it may be worth a full watch through.

If you de-tach your brain, I'm sure you can enjoy the ride.

I thought it was dire. Even naked girls swimming in 3D couldn't save it.

  8. Yes, really. I love the dialogue. But I'm told the first step toward recovery is admitting a problem, so perhaps there is hope.

And you can add to the list Top Shot, Ice Road Truckers and anything on the Food Channel, the best place on TV. :tu:

No that's fine really, whatever makes you happy. You should really come the whole hog though and wear some cut of jean shorts, tie a knot in your Tshirt and insist on being called Biscuit.
