Everybody has different opinions on how many signings we need. Its all about quality signings and making sure our budget can stretch to bring in what we need.
Whether a promotion run or relegation scarp, we need more than none.

The people running this club aren't as intelligent as those rednecks unfortunately.
The necks definitely bring in more catches.

Yes and we haven't even got a fucking rod because the dick heads in charge of the fishing trip didn't think we needed one.
Rednecks have a fishing hobby in lakes where they go under the water and stick their hands under large rocks with overhangs in the hopes that a catfish will bite their hand and they can pull it up. It's called noodling and it's more like what we do.

Buying a player is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman. First you have to eye them up. Then you have to seduce them with promise of wealth and success and then finally you get them out of their current kit and into yours.
Then they leave and take half your shit.

Brereton by no stretch of the imagination can be classed as a top rank striker. If United are seriously looking at him it shows how far they've have fallen.
While I agree with the sentiment and am happy they are in such a predicament, cant get over thinking its also a sad indictment of our clubs quality and decline. Thinking they must be in a terrible state of affairs to even think of taking our best player is awful.
Lord, I hate Man Utd.

Nobody would sign then.
I'm sure some would. At the very least a few million or so minimum payment from interested parties clause.

If the governance is so capitalist that they allow mega corps to eat up all prospects then surely they would allow some room for protecting investments.

Football clubs, thankfully Rovers do for sure, have supporters like Mr. Chaddy. Their glass is never half empty, its like the Tardis.

That doesn't sound like they're too keen, if they're still deciding. Ash needs to remember the grass isn't always greener.
"Grass isnt always greener" should be emblazoned above the door of the locker room with pictures of previous departures.
If 8 million isnt spent without BBD being sold then I feel it will be a bumpy road for the season.

I think now's the time to give him a chance instead of Harry Pickering, can't be worse.
If one thing life experience has taught me its - things can always be worse.
I've also been wondering what the definition of "healthy budget" is. Some would say not having to sell anyone to pay wages is "healthy"

I don't want to go out on a limb, but Hedges has been worth his place. Long may it continue.
Hedging your bets I see.

Please be true. Nothing pleases me more than players we nurture showing it was worth it.

You mean Rovers, right? I agree, my point was it's much worse than Southampton's situation in the 90s that you compared it to.
You are so correct. Think I'm going to go listen to some Cure and Smiths in the shower in the dark.

Were Southampton losing players for well below their true value (or free in some cases)? Or did they sell a player for a very fair British transfer record fee?
Yes but it feels everytime we get some traction our best player takes off. I understand the game but it seems that our academy is a nursery for other teams to come browse and buy the best flowers at a discount.

So this is how Southhamptom felt in the early 90's

Sell Brereton and kiss goodbye to any promotion bid. Our goalscoring talisman would be gone and the transfer fee banked and unlikely to be reinvested in an adequate replacement. We’d be better keeping him in an all out effort to get in the PL and then let him go for free - assuming he wants to leave.
Agreeing with Jim constantly. WTF.
How much money would we get for promotion? If its similar to what we could get for him it would be a wash.

10m Euros!
Not a chance.
Respond with 50 million and 3000 per goal. Nice acting like it's an eBay "But it Now" listing with a "Make an offer" option.

Perhaps. Highest paid and most absent - most probably
