On Mowbray leaving Coventry, he was replaced by Russell Slade. Who has been sacked today. Only won 1 league game. Going to replace by Mark Robins according the rumours

He'd be mad to go back there. That club is us in a few years time. Utter sympathy for the 5,000 fans they still have left attending.

Sounds like they will also be playing at non-league Nuneaton next year due to another "Rent" battle over the RICOH.

You did not include his excellent record at WBA so omitting facts is unfair.

8-9 years ago? They are hardly relevant when he has had three jobs since. Much like the position Coyle was in.

He also oversaw relegation at WBA so far from an "excellent" record....

TM was not sacked by WBA. Celtic had to pay £2m compensation to get him. Fact. Boro were 2nd and 3rd respectively on 1 January in TW's first two full seasons there. Fact

And then he bombed in the second half's without so much of a play off place and they were rooted below mid-table when finally potted. Why hark bark to 1st January when it's only 50 % of the season unless your trying to suit your own argument?

So that's a promotion and a relegation at WBA

Third worst in 130 years record at Celtic - the worst since 1993. Then Sacked

    A sack at Mboro

Almost a sacking but left Coventry rooted earlier this season.

Excuse me if I didn't come across that excited when he was announced. Certainly a good start and i would hope he continues with it. Far too early to call him a "success" though.

Unfair summary. TM is a legend at WBA and was not sacked even though relegated from PL. Took Boro to top of table twice at Xmas with negligible funding. Saved Cov from relegation and again topped table following Xmas. Look at the all the facts not just the ones that suit your opinion. Then again we live in a post-fact era....

    Who mentioned WBA?

Facts are facts mate how is it unfair exactly?

Nyambe is playing well at the minute. Look at his performances in the last 2 games

How are players like Nyambe or Raya going to keep us down?

You even admit you haven't seen Nyambe played recently but you choose to judge when you have no idea.

He's still suspect in my eyes chaddy, looks ok at the moment as we've not had an out and out right back for years.

He's still scared of crossing and heading which are pre-requisites for any full back role. Positionally naive but getting slightly better.

If your only as good as your last job then why did you want McLeish to take over?

Errr I'd say that is a pretty good record especially with Genk qualifying for europe. As said at the time i'd have seen McCleish till the summer and a fresh look then when there is time.

    According to this...

    http://www.onaverage.co.uk/money-averages/average-premier-league-salary

...that's less than your average League Two player.

But as a strategy it isn't even consistent with the previous money spinning idea of growing our own talent and selling them for big money. To let Mahoney walk for a compensation deal would be very bad business as well as bad for the team and the fans.

Hope you're wrong Dunn. Having just signed Raya they need to be prioritising talks with Mahoney this week. £3k per week is peanuts in football terms.

I'd heard it from a Very good source, that it literally was that. Happened six weeks ago if i recall?

You see I have a problem with people that just look at the bad and not the good. He did a very good job at West Brom and did a good job at Hibs before that.

It's simple and probably more prevalent in this day in age..."Your only as good as your last job" and Mowbrays last three involved being sacked. Quite right there was skeptics over his appointment. Felix Magath was fantastic 10 years ago winning the league but when at Fulham was a complete horror show.

    Exactly my point

Had to save his CV i guess. Mark Venus his old assistant stayed i believe?

Sacked by Celtic (worst win record since 1993) won just 23 from 45 in charge, 3rd worst win record in Celtic's entire history.

    Sacked at Middlesborough

And the issue at Coventry where he left them routed to the table.

You can see why people were not exactly enamored with his appointment BUT a big well done thus far.

Would not dispute anything you have written. I merely pointed out to DE. that he had not been sacked but had walked from Coventry. I believe most managers would have brazened it out until the sack and compensation.

If he didn't walk he'd have been sacked.

Not at all as he would have had those games under his belt but tbf for many people on here to call him, chastise him even before he had a game is just uncalled for. If he never won another game Id be the first to say it was a bad appointment but only judge his tenure here from games played, half of you lot here wouldnt have given the time of day.

What if he saves us from relegation to  LG1 how many fans that called him would say 'actually he done a good job' with ANY manager coming in give the bloke a chance. Even HWSNBN was given a honeymoon period.

    Just now, DE. said:

People had every right to be upset with the appointment of a guy who had been sacked after leaving Coventry bottom of League 1. Sorry to say it, but that is what Mowbray was when hired.

Three games in and things are looking good. But it's only three games. A little early for anybody to be crowing and hailing Mowbray as the second coming. He's had an excellent start but there's still a long way to go. This'll be a difficult end to the season, and even if Mowbray does keep us up we most likely have a pretty grim summer ahead of us which could see Mowbray starting next season with both arms tied behind his back.

Sorry Ninja but entirely agree with DE, that much i'm not going to add further comment.

    shameful posts tbh.

Would you be saying that if his return was 0/9 as opposed to 7/9?

Fair play to Mowbray he has hit the ground running but the proof will be at the end of the year. 3 games out of 15 was it it to go, shows it's a mini marathon and not a sprint.

Nothing changes for me, new manager/new face same s**t as owners. Still in your 56 posts to date I'm sure you've made more insightful posts and contributions to the forum.

Lai's been pretty good so far I don't think Williams's would have put himself in that position twice no disrespect. Lai has appointed one of the consortium to the board, and he regulary comes to games. Early days, but, they've coughed money for Schneirderlin. We lost out because of Koeman. They seem decent

Good to hear it Baggie and long may it continue, got a soft spot for you guys. No way Williams would have, shocking things on the weblink below confirm he was in an untenable position at the time including the leaked letter by the club drafted by him. https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/misery-at-blackburn-rovers-leaked-documents-reveal-harrowing-details-of-the-indian-rule-at-riverside.

Glens blog on http://venkysout.com/(Rovers Revisited) May shed more in too.

How do you fare on Pulis by the way? I know it was 50-50 with some fans at one stage? 8th now and a few points cushion is a terrific season!

:D we shall see my friend. Even if he does he's already an Albion Legend for getting £15m for Berahino

Glad your taking to him, 77 now is John! Still as sharp as ever though.

Berahino is a disgrace especially what WBA had done for him, he will never hit those early heights again. Almost 18 months sat around doing nothing instead of that goal scoring feeling does allot to a player.

Good luck and fingers crossed with the Lai takeover. Hoping you and any other club don't get a Venkys.

Cos we need to stay up and be a championship team next season. Or do you want to go down?

If by a miracle we stay up, with the way the club is now being ran and cut to death then surely you realise next season we will be the favourite for the drop anyways?

    Why delay the inevitable?

Why give him a chance? How's about in case he can turn this around!!

We needed a change, what did you expect? The real problem is always the ownership but this is hiring an actual manager without messing around for months when we needed a quick decision.

Manger well head coach... with a Senior in charge pretending to play director of football.

You seriously have to wonder who the hell walks out on SISU and joins Venkys months later, it's hardly someone with a high level of self respect is it and it's borderline hypocritical.

He can do whatever. I genuinely don't care anymore, good luck to him.

Support from day one? We've done that for each of the Venky 7 appointments with each one progressively more underwhelming than any predecessor bar Lambert. Did we really have Lambert to Coyle to Mowbray in 12 months or am I in a bad dream. It's come to the point where I think support needs to earned over a period of time and not just give on day one because we've got our latest washed up has been with the Venky/SEM PR machine in the background lapping up the "support".

Not what most fans wanted but we've got to give him a chance and get behind the team.

Why give him a chance? If he is prepared to work for this circus then he is just as bad as them.

A decent bloke wouldn't affiliate himself with the vile.

    Let himself down big time.

Positives: He tries to get his teams to play attractive, passing football.  No long-ball hoof merchant.

Negatives: His teams don't win many games.

The most worrying thing is his title - "head coach".  Suggests to me he won't have the final say on transfers and will effectively be expected to work with what he's given from Senior.  And as I'm sure Senior has been brought in to cut costs wherever possible, he's not going to be given much.

You answered your negative section of your post with your positives.

That is why he doesn't get results as he doesn't have a f****n clue.

It's all about dumbing down expectations so I thought Adkins could hopefully find some Southampton form and build us up from there and discount his last few roles. Then roll on Venkys Tony frickin Mowbray, I'm mad at myself for being shocked and mad!

It makes me almost apologetic for dismissing Adkins.
