I'll be honest, this little spat appears to be quite personal to you. Your position is clear. You don't like fans questioning the status quo and you have a real problem with fans who actually stand up for the club at their own expense (time, money and mental). Glen Mullan (who I've never met but seems a reasonable, passionate bloke who does all he can for Rovers) can do as he likes and certainly doesn't have to justify his actions to me or you.

Nothing personal against Glen. Never met the bloke but do follow him. As I mentioned in my previous post, I respect a lot of the work he has done. However, when he is involved with the fan base and has such a following on Twitter, he ought to publish when he is meeting the CEO, when the fans have been crying out for communication.

I’m not doubting it, BnWR, I’m doubting you when you said new owners couldn’t possibly see us hit 20k - it’s 3,700 from where we are now.

We very much possibly could, just like we very possibly could have new owners.

Step away from the board, you are contradicting yourself post to post.

Sorry, the 20-24k I was alluding to was home fans only. The 16k I just posted, will take into account away fans. Again, no idea what the average, home fans only, figure would be.

That first sentence is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard on this forum. And that’s going some.

It’s happened in our very own town, the Euro Garages brothers, attempted to buy McColls, Cafe Nero, made their offer on Asda, all went public. However, businesses don’t have pressure from “fans”, our club does.

It makes absolute sense to do so.

How many businesses have you been involved with where the seller appears to be happy to lose £20m a year, running on for over £200m in debt, and makes no effort to improve the situation or engage with buyers?

This is not a normal situation. If it was we'd have been sold a decade ago.

    None.

I have no idea why they still own us. However, especially now, surely if someone was serious about buying us, a low ball offer would do the trick. However, there is nothing out there, at the minute.

Why isn’t there any public offers, surely with the current fan pressure, you’d go public to say, we’ve made an approach and the fans would then jump on the back of you to try and get them to listen.

Very true. Waggott, Suhail and the leadership at Rovers are famous for not lying, misleading, or attempting to manipulate the fanbase.

If they say there's been no interest, there's been no interest.

    (sarcasm)

Surely the buyer would then make it public? Like the dude we dodged under the Walker Trust, his name alludes me, but BBC did a documentary on him.

In addition, there was a chap who was on twitter not long ago, in MLS, trying to buy us but no offer made and we all saw through him, when he doesn’t have a penny to his name.

We are towards the bottom end of the championship in terms of wage bill.

There are Rovers fans out there, proven by larger gates for certain games, with the right approach the club could get them back.

The vast majority that have stopped going was because of the owners, why wouldn't they come back under new ownership and positive fan engagement?

I do hope that would be the case. I’d love nothing more than a packed Ewood. However, in the PL, we averaged around 20-24k. I simply do not see that happening, especially given the current global issues with rising prices either. That is my honest opinion.

Even so, our current average attendance is 16k I believe, adding an additional 8k fans at an average season ticket cost of £300, brings in £2.4m. Let’s say an additional £2.4m on spends at Ewood (just made that figure up), then it’s an additional £5m, at best. Where’s the shortfall of £15m-£20m coming from?

Football clubs in England never get bought, especially in this part of the country. Blackpool, Burnley, Bolton, Wigan have had the same owners for years. What?

Such a ridiculous narrative that nobody would buy us. Constantly pushed out there by people defending the Venkys.

If they want to sell, there will be many interested parties.

In the interview, not a single offer made. Nobody has shown the cash either.

I’ve been in business long enough, if you want to buy someone, it’s possible, so as long as you have the credibility or flash the cash. Quite damning, that in 15 years, this has never been done.

three of your posts in 20 minutes undermining any point you’re trying to make and - along with your absence for a year - leading me to infer that you’re probably more pro-regime than your “what’s the alternative?” stance belies.

It’s true, you didn’t know the ins and outs. You got the ins and outs, then dismissed them out of hand.

You complain about a lack of transparency around a meeting that didn’t have anything to do with recent action, despite receiving information yourself from personal contacts at the club and not sharing that.

Everyone has a right to agree or disagree with the current actions and question people involved with it, but being hypocritical, reactionary, argumentative and - frankly - ignorant, does make you look quite daft, in the end.

He has now admitted to the meeting. My question still stands, as to why it was kept a secret, when we the fans have been crying out engagement.

I am not pro-regime nor anti-regime. I am a fan of the club and have been all my life. I hate seeing Ewood the way it was last night. It wasn’t nice for me and my family attending, it can’t have been nice for the players or anyone involved.

I want the best for us, be that with Venky’s or Joe Bloggs, I really do not care. Football is an escape for many of us and at the moment, it is nothing but a chore.

What irks me is, this hostile atmosphere created, mainly due to lack of communication, yet certain individuals have the ear of the execs, but choose to keep it private, when it suits.

I have read Glen’s tweets for a number of years and respect a lot of the work he has done. However, when we find out of these private meetings, it will antagonise any fan, especially, when we have all been wanting that very voice to communicate with us.

    That number getting another raise.

Was £20m, then up to £22m the other day, now £25m.

How do other championship clubs do it?

With a much bigger fanbase than ours and much lower wage bill.

By getting new owners, we will not see more than 20k at Ewood. What we will see is a lower wage bill, therefore the quality of players we can attract, will be significantly poorer. Not a chance we get the likes of Cantwell and Beck.

BnWR has always been pro regime and now he starts posting for the first time in nearly a year casting aspersions about Glen and ‘division’… well, what a shock!

I’ve never been pro-regime. I’ve always said, what is the alternative? I simply cannot see any investor pumping in £25m a season to keep us afloat, unless it’s a fan, like Uncle Jack.

I stayed away as it was pointless arguing with people on here despite me knowing a few things through my personal contacts.

When I found out about this personal meeting between Waggott and Mullan, it did infuriate me because we have all been wanting communication with them directly, yet he had the platform and mentioned nothing to the public, until now when he’s been found out.

The coalition know i spoke to Waggott , they also know the reason why

We've advised him that we are taking legal action over his comments linking video, statement and threats in his interview as if that were sent from the same person.

We discussed the transcript , he also advised he would pass onto his legal team.

Anything else you'd like to know 😏

But not a peep to the fans. So lack of communication, the same issue you accuse the club of and WATR??

    Double standards.

You kept it hidden from the fans and claim to be for the fans. Why did you not disclose to us?

Isn't his salary published in the accounts? (Could be wrong there)

See his latest tweet, talking about deferred pension. That isn’t disclosed in the accounts. Clearly backing Waggott up. Another tweet where he said Waggott would do a good job if his hands were untied.

He’s not said a single word about Waggott being the problem.

Also not a single word why he had a private meeting on Thursday night with Waggott. Why are the other fan groups not told about this??

We got a winger in for the medical last summer on deadline day. But then finances didn't allow it to complete.

This was Oliver Burke. Not as glamorous as he is making out.

He agreed to let another player leave on loan, however that fell through, so this deal  subsequently fell through.

It was a straight swap financially, one in and one out, however Gregg got the in but I believe it was Bristol that pulled out of signing one of ours. The same that Gregg promised would get done.
