  1. 1. England players haven't walked but so what ? Rightly or wrongly, international players don't walk - including India's.

    2. Sometimes DRS favoured England, sometimes it favoured the opposition. Do you think a machine honestly is as bent as Indian umpires ?

    3. It's obvious you wanted the opposition to win and are probably aghast they did not.

This is the last time I respond to your pathetic posts.

    1. No India players have accused the opposition of being called a cheat, ala Swann, then done the exact same thing themselves.

    2. Which Indian umpire are you referring to exactly? DRS favours one side or the other, it should not do that. It should give the correct decision. Unfortunately it hasn't on a few occasions and there is far too much doubt over the LBW. Hence why I would like it scrapped or serious adjustments to the rules currently in place. Are you 100% satisfied with the system currently in place?

    3. I couldn't care less who won. I wanted the best team to win (see the first post of the topic)

  2. His complete lack of consistency, ability to totally ignore valid points made by others, and one-track mind through 30 pages of discussion might have something to do with it.

He viciously slates Broad through multiple posts for not walking, others point out India players who've done the same, he makes up a pathetic, garbage reason for why its not the same.

He drones on and on and on about DRS whenever it benefits England, says nothing when it benefits Australia.

He is hypercritical about the qualities of a team likely to be ranked 2nd in the world after the next test. When its pointed out to him this team have beaten India home and away in recent series, he makes up a pathetic, garbage reason for why that doesn't matter.

He's a wum at best and a racist at worst. Although I suspect the reality is somewhere between the 2 and he's just a bitter individual who doesn't like the blanket coverage England get in this country when he wants to talk about India. His insertion of utterly irrelevant clips of India into this thread would back that up.

A racist? I'd retract that statement for your own good.

Call me what you like on this thread, but a racist I am not. I dislike the England cricket team with reasons I have explained in this thread earlier on. I have no complaints about the English people or anything else English. In fact, I am off to Wembley tonight to watch England take on Scotland. I was in London throughout the Olympics and will be traveling to Rio next year for the World Cup. All this because I am a racist?

I have made valid points on this thread about the use of DRS, all of which have been picked up by the national media. I guess they are racists too?

I merely pointed out Stuart Broad's cheating antics during the series and the actual use of the word was derived by an interview from Swann. So that makes Swann a racist or hypocritical, you decide?

I was asked who I support, I told them I support India, ever since the reference has always been bought back to India by YOU, not me.

  3. No I don't. It's obvious now you started this thread not to discuss the Ashes but use it as a vehicle to slag off England. Now kindly fack off.

Come on Jim, I thought we were pals?

I started this thread to discuss what I thought would be a competitive and enjoyable series. Unfortunately, it has been neither and overshadowed by 2 key issues in my opinion, cheating and DRS. By no fault of my own, the England players have been cheating and the DRS has favoured England majority of the time. Had it been Australia, I would have slagged them off all the same.

It seems as though I am not entitled to a cricket opinion as I support neither team. Wonder how Michael Holding feels.

  4. Just do one Blue and White. I'm being so blunt and rude because I am sick of you talking rubbish slating what I guess is your home country's team. You come across as an Asian equivilent of a plastic paddy who boos the likes of Bopara or Panesar for playing for England.

The Ashes do not concern you, and you have made it patently clear you have an agenda and prejudices so your posts contribute nothing other than to annoy everyone else.

Boo Bopara and Panesar? I couldn't give a toss about them. If they were that good, they'd be playing for India, that's a fact. ECB cannot match the BCCI when it comes to offering contracts to players. We have too much money. Whereas, county cricket is struggling a huge amount in England with clubs in huge amounts of debt. That's why the likes of Pietersen want to play in the IPL so desperately, in order to pocket themselves a huge payday.

Like I said earlier, I believe I have contributed very fairly to the Ashes discussion. I'm sure Jim will agree with me.

  5. Whats it like living in cloud cuckoo land dear?

Ask your boys. We sent them to cuckoo land after the 4-0 demolition.

Edit: Looks like India A are also battering Australia A. Bad day all round for you, dear.

  6. Anyone suggesting that Cook, Trott and KP aren't world class needs their head testing. Anyone with the averages that these guys have is world class. You also have to factor in that in England you don't get many flat track wickets, unlike in the Asian Subcontinent where you often see flat track wickets which has inflated the averages of some players.

3-0, 4-0? I don't really care, we have won the Ashes and that is all that matters.

I also very much enjoyed the winter, dominating India in the second and third test to win the series.

Kamy, the India you faced at the time was very unbalanced. There were a lot of players who were towards the latter end of their careers. The new look India has a much more vibrant and enthusiastic look about them and we saw that when they dominated the ICC Champions Trophy. I am very confident that we will be returning to the top of the rankings in ALL forms of the game.

In view of your country's record on proven cheating (rather than your own view of cheating) you are in no position to judge.

Meanwhile I'm sitting in the sunshine enjoying another glass of Ashes ale. Lovely.

It was also the view of your prized-asset, Swann.

Jim take my new stance .. Ignore him and don't respond to pond life.

    Still waiting, darling. ^_^

  7. So why are your favourite players (who just happen to be Indian) "world-class" when others (who just happen to be English) are not ? Unless you are prejudiced of course.

We were talking about India, so I mentioned the world-class Indian batsmen. At no point did I say they were my favourite players.

Clarke, Waugh brothers, Lara, Sangakara, Chanderpaul, etc are just a few of my favourites that are non-Indian. No prejudice at all, just a silly accusation you have in your head.

About Cook, his negativity against a better opposition would have been punished. It's just a crying shame that Australia aren't the force they used to be. A better batting line-up and no cheating from the England camp, and the scores would be a lot closer than 3-0. But hey, no point crying over it. You won and if you feel it is morally and ethically correct to celebrate a victory in those circumstances, then who am I to judge? Celebrate.

  8. I enjoy watching the way Cook plays the cut shot and in particular the ball off his legs, which is one of the most difficult shots to play. He's probably the best batsmen in world cricket on leg stump because anything pitched in that area usually goes for a boundary. Trott is a lovely batsman to watch when he is on form. Both are players out of the top drawer. "World class" is in the eyes of the beholder - you only see "world class" when it is wearing an India cap.

All 3 batsmen are a joy to watch when they're are on form, but that is the case with any batsmen in the world. However, that doesn't make them world class. Out of the 3, I probably enjoy watching Cook. His technique as you said is fabulous, however he tends to disappear in the big matches. His captaincy is very negative and I feel the added pressure of the captaincy has hindered his performances recently. I can't remember the last time he made a century. This in turn, has led to the downfall of Root. If Cook is out, then more pressure is added to the youngster to score big.

  9. You've admitted to "hating" the England cricket team and labelled them "cheats" when it's been pointed out to you more than once with proven facts that the Indians are the biggest cheats in world cricket. You're not fair. Some people would say you're prejudiced.

Nonsense. I support the England football team and have travelled across the globe to watch them. Not prejudice at all.

I have to ask WHY is Broad not walking considered cheating? It appears more like waiting for the Umpire to make a decision. Unsportsmanlike, perhaps, but cheating? Unless there's something I'm missing?

Ask Swann what he thought of the Sri Lankan batsman that didn't walk. He called him a cheat. Same thing happened with Broad. I am just using Swann's phrase to describe his team mate.

This is the article if you missed it:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-2116812/Graeme-Swann-blast-Sri-Lankan-cheat.html

Edit: He says "The thing that annoyed me was that the batsman stood there knowing 100 per cent he was out but chose to cheat."

  10. It's very easy to rubbish your "argument".

Cook averages 48.1 in Test cricket, Pietersen 48.3.

Of India's so-called "world class" (your words) batsmen Sehwag and Dravid's Test averages are better at around the 50 mark but Ganguly, Laxman, Dhoni, Ghambir at 42.1, 45.9, 39.7 and 44.1 respectively are significantly worse.

Only batsmen of the highest class have Test averages in the high 40s or more.

Statistics only tell one side of a story. In Laxman's case, the story is, if anything, even more incomplete. Numbers can never capture the elegance of his batting or the joy of his magical wristwork. The same applies to Ganguly. Dhoni is very aggressive and very much like Pietersen, however his brilliant captaincy makes him world class.

  11. Listen when we defeat the old enemy it's something FOR US to celebrate and the Aussies will tell you the same. You have no interest other than envy and bitterness and you choose to contribute nothing other than windups and churlish criticism. So if I promise not to comment on the normal cheatfest that occurrs whenever your lot play Pakistan will you not just bugger off and keep your own council?

Remember after what the Venkymob have done to BRFC and it's supporters your nation of origin is hardly flavour of the month around these parts is it?

So you're saying because Venky's are Indian, the whole of our fan base hate ALL Indians? Wow. There's a reason you have a reputation around here.

Maybe we should all start hating the English/Norwegians/Scottish. After all, it was that nation of origin that led us to relegation and bottom half of the Championship. Or does it not work like that?

The minute you start " hating " other teams you're no longer seeing things rationally, your judgment is coloured by your prejudices.

Not at all, I think I have given a very fair account of myself on here re: the major talking points.

  12. This whole topic is blatantly a platform for him to spout his anti-England vitriol. He created the topic and has dominated it throughout. Why, because he's a lover of cricket no matter who's playing? Doubtful or else every post wouldn't be dripping with negativity and bitterness. He's successfully tainted the discussion on here of an entire Ashes series. It should have been about England and Australia, instead its been about DRS and Stuart Broad not walking one time.

I hate the England cricket team, however I am cricket fan and I have contributed very fairly to the Ashes debate. It's a shame you have those tinted glasses on.

Maybe you should read the cricket column more often in the National Press. Majority of the talk this Ashes series has been the use of DRS and when Broad didn't decide to walk (blatantly cheating). The cricket has not been spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. More so players playing poor shots or out of form. We saw a few genuine world class deliveries from Harris/Broad/Bresnan yesterday, other than that I struggle to see any genuine class in the whole series.

You don't have to take him seriously Steve. I'll have a bit of banter but I know he's not dealing from a full deck.

^_^ They're too serious this mob.

Likewise Cook, Trott and Pietersen for England. Broad's had better allround games for England because he's a better batsman than those two. And when he's in his pomp like yesterday he's also a better bowler.

Now fack off and let us enjoy our win.

I wouldn't say Cook is world class nor Pietersen. Pietersen is a game changer but one big innings every now and again will not make him world class. His weakness when it comes to playing spin also backs up my argument.

Like I said, enjoy the victory. I did when we whitewashed them :tu:

  13. Take away Tendulkar's runs over the years and where would India have been ? Daft argument.

I must say Broad's bowling spell yesterday was poor quality. :wstu:

Lie back and think of England - and enjoy the moment.

I'd wager still near the top. Sehwag, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Dhoni, Ghambir, etc are all world class batsmen who have consistently performed for India.

Broad had his best game in an England shirt. Still doesn't make him a better bowler than Siddle or Harris (the argument we had earlier in the thread).

Oh and I've already enjoyed a 4-0 whitewash of Australia, in Australia. Nothing special for us ^_^

  14. You're just a massive cheat, so I'm not surprised you don't like it.

DRS was brought in because a decent percentage of umpire decisions were wrong, due to human error and intimidation from the bowling side loudly appealing for everything (something India are the masters at). Its not an infallible system but the occasions here it overturns a correct umpiring decision are incredibly rare. Those are the only occasions where it makes decisions worse than they used to be. In every other case it either makes decisions the same (when it agrees with the umpire) or improves decisions.

From what I've seen since it was introduced the percentages work out something like:

Overturns a correct decision - 1% of the time

Agrees with the umpire - 80% of the time

Overturns a wrong decision - 19% of the time

Those figures are guesstimates but it should be bloody obvious that the last figure is far greater than the first, hence the decision-making process has obviously been improved!

All you care about is that India won't get as many decisions as they used to. Look at how often now they appeal like maniacs and then don't bother with a review. Cheats, like you.

India refuse to play with DRS. So I don't know where you get that "they don't bother with a review" from. Utter nonsense.

I agree it helps in areas such as caught behind, however it must be scrapped for the LBW and leave the umpire to make that decision.

There's certainly a lot wrong in other instances with how DRS is being used. But in those two cases it hasn't made any difference to what the decision would have been without it, both players would have still been given out. You've answered why there's an 'umpire's call' area yourself, it's reasonable to allow a 'not out' call to stand for close calls where the umpire isn't sure enough to raise his finger. But when he's convinced the ball is going on to hit the stumps, and the replay backs him up even though it's tight, it's also right to stick with his decision. It's one part of the system that's actually working, it's up to the players to stop wasting reviews in such situations.

What my point is, had the decisions yesterday been given as not out, the balls were both hitting the stumps (so that would have been an incorrect decision) however, DRS would have allowed it to stay as not out. Umpire's call must be removed. For me the whole system needs reviewing for LBW's.

  15. From what I have read they don't have any better - this lot is as good as they get. But who cares about them anyway ?

This is time to celebrate another glorious England triumph.

I wouldn't say glorious. Take away the runs from Ian Bell in this series (who has been my man of the series), and England would have been in much bother as the Aussies. Quality wise the series has been poor. Entertainment wise it has been great.

  16. So exactly the same as what would have happened before DRS? If the umpire gave you out, you were out - if the umpire gave you not out, you were not out. The "umpire's call" benefits the batsman, if you remove it then both would have been 'out' on review regardless of what the umpire said because the ball was shown to be on line to hit the stumps.

Had the umpire given them not out, Hawk Eye would have showed the ball hitting the stumps, so would that mean the umpire got it wrong? There was enough doubt to give both decisions as not out. Horrible system and ruining the game for me.

  17. Absolutely no reason to be quiet. As I said, Australia should have batted sensibly but didn't.

How ridiculous is this DRS nonsense? The "Umpire's call" has to be removed. Watson and Haddin would have been not out had the umpire given them not out.

Anderson again had a very poor game.

England have bowled fairly well throughout the series, but boy have the Aussies made it a walk in the park for them with some dismal batting displays. The Aussie bowling attack is perfectly fine. They need to sort out the middle order and bring in a number 3 who won't throw his wicket away and invite further pressure on Clarke etc.

I guess we have the ODI's to look forward to now. The test at the Oval is meaningless, although a win for the Aussies may give them a slight boost going into this winter's tour.

  18. Another cracking game in a fascinating series. Australia need 299 to win and England have already wasted a review (Maybe Clarke can handover the "DRS book for dummies" to Cook).

Australia need to bat in intervals - set themselves targets each session and more importantly, bat sensibly. Let's hope cheating doesn't ruin another fascinating run chase.

  19. The England team has plenty of faults - such as complacency and lack of application - but they are not "cheats and hypocrites".

The cheats are mainly Indians and Pakistanis (see below), which makes you the hypocrite.

    http://en.wikipedia....or_match_fixing

Once again Jim, I ask you, how many of them in the current India squad?

Also, Broad, Root etc not walking, would you say that is fair play or cheating?

Finally, Swann accused the Sri Lanka lad for not walking, yet says it is perfectly fine when Broad didn't walk, do you not think that is hypocritical?

Pitch is moving a lot today. Australia will have to be patient and bat very well to get close to England's target.

12-2 at the moment and Australia in all sorts of trouble.

  20. What do you think would happen to me if I moved to India, went on an Indian sports messageboard, and said the same about Indian cricket that you do about English? Cause I think there'd be a lot of people trying to find out where I lived by now.

Abusing this country's tolerance and decency, and showing no tolerance and decency yourself. What a total **** you are.

No, I am not mocking this country's tolerance and decency, so do not accuse me of that. I am stating the faults of the England cricket team, which consists of their management and players, whom I believe are cheats and hypocrites.

I have seen enough of them in this series alone to justify my beliefs.

I didn't move to England, I was born here. If you want to go on an Indian messageboard then feel free, nobody is stopping you.

  21. Looks as though the England bowlers will have to bail the batsmen out again. How the media have portrayed this mediocre England side to be the greatest of all time, is beyond me.

Oh and noticed today that Swann is sponsored by The S*n. My hatred increases.

  22. OK, for starters look at this list of cheats below, the majority Indian or Pakistani with one minor English county player.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cricketers_banned_for_match_fixing

    I await your comments.

How many of them currently play for the India team? In the past 20 years, only one player, Azharuddin, was convicted but later overturned.

Majority of those players have never played a single game for the India team.
