Good final, a lot closer than the 7-2 scoreline suggests.
Whitlock missed a couple of darts at doubles to win crucial legs and Taylor took out at least three 120 + finishes to win vital legs with Whitlock waiting on a finish. The 170 with Whitlock waiting behind on 40 being the most notable.
7-3 wasn't it. I thought Whitlock played very well, and when he first took out that 170, it made Taylor more desperate to up his game.
Whitlock never went away, continued battering the trebles, and had a great doubles %, but like you said Rev, he missed crucial doubles at crucial times for me.
The leg when Taylor couldn't hit the double 1 was a great one to watch!

Barney sprung out a 9 darter the other night out of nowhere. His averages have been poor and will need to step up if he is to win the title.
Lewis VS Taylor is looking to be a mouth-watering prospect on new years day.
I'm backing Whitlock to make it to the finals, but would love Stompe there too. Great celebration from him the other night

Anyone know how Andre Ooijer is getting on at PSV? Will he make the squad for the World Cup?

Anyone had a chance to watch Law Abiding Citizen?
Trailer looks decent, haven't heard any reviews on it though.

Thick selfish footballers.
A few are thick and selfish. but not all of them. Look at the majority of footballers who help raise money for various charities. The number of footballers that pay a visit to the local hospital to put a smile on a sick childs face. We have a few idiots within the game, I agree, but majority of the players set a good example on and off the pitch!

Never saw Sir Bobby play, but watched him manage. You couldn't really see his passion on the touchline but watching training sessions as well as press conferences proved to me that he well and truely loved the game.
Anyone who got a chance to meet him is very lucky indeed.
RIP Sir Bobby

Bar-B-Q Base is opening on Darwen St, opposite Postal Order. Been a few times to one of there restraunts. They do a lovely BBQ Chicken which is freshly cooked in front of you. Fairly cheap as well, would recommend it for a take out meal.

He has went from a world class England international, to a fat Man City pudding according to what alot of people have been saying.
I do agree with Hughesy though that he has pure potential and id jump at the chance of signing him.
I'd rather have Samba, Nelsen or Givet in the heart of our defence rather than him. Too many errors for my liking. Mind you, I wouldn't mind to have him at RB. Although he is a bit to erratic at times and loses the ball when up top.

He is our most prolific striker in front of goal. We have Roberts who is an instinctive finisher rather than a nautral one like Benni. With Benni, he might be quiet all game, and then pop up in the right place at the right time and get us a goal. Not many of our strikers can do that. Roque relies heavily on the quality of the delievery, and as we saw this season, without Bentley he suffered with the amount of goals he got this season.
We can't afford to sell Benni aswel as Derbyshire.

Let's get rid of the entire team, then spend the first 15 games of the season losing every match whilst the players "gel" together.
Like Tottenham last year
I'm all for it, as long as we finish where they did last year

14 years on and still remain one of 4 clubs to have won the title....

95-96 was 7-0. 3-0 was in 94-95.
Any ideas of the goalscorers, Newell may have got a brace not entirely sure, my mind is blank on this one!

We played Forest in 1995/1996, beating them 3-0 at Ewood. I was talking to a mate the other day about this game, but struggling to remember much from it. Anyone have anymore information?
Cheers

i'd rather have red hot pokers stuck in my eyes than listen to that w-nk-r
All Waggy needs is a hug off Big Sam
Don't you just love him Waggy
Most probable destination for Sven will be Pompey or Newcastle, providing Shearer doesn't take up the role permanantly.

which two clubs are being done for "match fixing" in the qualifiying rounds?(bbc news this morning)
Macedonian Club FK Podeba have been charged for their match fixing in the 2004 Champions League Qualifier.
Not sure on the other club.

This is what Rooney apparently thinks of the people he grew up with - he says that he hates them and he wants to burn them. What a charming man he is.
Completely agree with most of your post. However, your complaining about Rooney hating Scousers and singing them sort of chants. Then aren't most footballing fans the same. I've been bought up hating Burnley and i'll admit that I do, i've also joined in the same chants that are anti-Burnley. Does that make us all similar to Rooney?
It's only natural that someone dislike/hates their rivals. Ask most Rovers fans and they'll say the same, they hate Burnley.

Obviously I cant speak for anyone else but I would certainly be receptive to any sensible ideas as to how we the members and beneficiarys of this MB could help out with the financial problems. Any suggestions folks? I also realise that the admin people are both too busy and too worried at this time to join in this debate, but I feel that the rest of us should try and come up with some ideas to help out.
Is there no way we can get the Club to donate a few dollars to help run the site? End of the day quite a few of the fans come on here who are season ticket holders at Rovers, and maybe they could help out?

Thanks Kamy I will look it up.
btw is that the double fronted restaurant 50 yards past the Shandar towards Bastwell? If so I have had a take away from there. Went in the excellent Barzooka for a 'quickie' of a diffrent kind whilst I waited too.
I think that is the one. Not too fond of the food there to be honest, however, the chicken is brilliant as Kamy mentioned. Would recommend that.
-
btw I've seen that leg of lamb being served on the next table Kamy. It certainly looks impressive.
It certainly does served with chunky potatoes and salad. £40 I think it was, you can't go wrong with that. Another favourite was the Salads, enjoyed the Greek salad as well as the Chicken Salad.

Tonights encounter between Barney and the "playboy" of darts, Jelle Klassen, looks like its going to be a cracker!
Hopefully, both of them will play to their potentials.

The best in this area by far.
I don't think it's expensive at all. 5 starters, 6 main courses, (no sweets / coffee) with bottled water / soft drink was £63 last time I went in Nov.
I enjoyed one of the Chefs Specials that day, I think it is on the menu now, but a Lamb Biryani with a Pastry over it, compliment each other perfectly. Any favourite dish Gord?

Phil "the shower" was too good tonight against Co, it was embarrassing!
Bates was never at the races against King, overall a non exciting night of darts.
Roll on tomorrow!
Stompe tried his best towards the end, great bit of banter with the fans. Probably the best part of the night!
Great to see The Power give that dart board away at the end!

Anyone tried Bukhara near Samlesbury?
Indian Cuisine and must I say the service and the presentation of the food was amazing. Food was delicious and would recommend it to anyone, tad pricey but worth every penny. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal!

Yeah, its seems like you have to concentrate more unlike Virtua Tennis 3 (which I absolutely loved by the way - shame the PS3 version didn't have online or I would still have it)
It just seems that in the top spin one you cant just hold down the shot button and your man will automatically go for it - you have to get your timing right
I love the little things though and I love the way your little bod sweats more as the game goes on - not that I like sweaty men you understand
Anyone figured out how to get a fast serve in. Ive tried with Nadal and Roddick but I can't serve more than 90mph. If i do it's always a fault!!!

Went to Bukhara this weekend, pre-ordered a Lamb Leg, and my word! Delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection, nice and tender. Must have for anyone who has not been. Served with roast potatoes and salad around the dish.
Ordered a Greek Salad and an Olive Salad which was also exquisite!
