It’s very clear that if we had a striker who could score goals and a midfielder who could dictate play- we would be closer to the top 2 forget top 6. I think this season is a step too far but I’m excited for next season.

We have a midfielder who can dictate play, just JDT prefers to play fucking Tyler Morton every week

Since the restart on 10th December, I think we’ve been shown/chosen as a ‘main’ Sky Sports game 14 times (obviously that could end up as 16 if Luton and Millwall get picked) in 25 games.

17 (possibly 19 by the end of the season) on Sky out of 25 if you include red button.

Unheard of for a team that’s largely spent the season pretty much out of contention for automatic promotion.

Do we get any £££ from each of these games being shown?

I don’t think Gallagher is getting enough credit, he had a great game and kept the centre halves occupied. He won loads of headers and never stopped running and challenging for balls, heck he even showed skill at times like the flick over the head of their right back. I am one of his biggest critics but he was brilliant today.
Travis also had a brilliant game and didn’t do his usual mistakes. Fantastic performance all round especially defensively.

He's slow to kick the ball and loses possession too often though (as well as just generally slow). He could have done something with the ball several times today when through or in a shooting position, but more often than not it, he gets it nicked off him or cannons his shot or pass off an opposing player.

He's the weak link in our team for me, if we get someone more clinical and quicker to react in, we'd be an absolute force.

Hyam my MOTM, an absolute rock of a player (and some brilliant recruitment from GB).

Both deals are waiting on EFL ratification, as reported by Sharpe. They're both in doubt. I'm sure O'Brien will also have had his photos and media whatnot sorted in preparation, too.

Wonder if O'Brien might end up back at Rochdale on loan for the remainder of the season. We did a similar think with Pickering, and I doubt we'll be dropping O'Brien in at this stage. A "project" signing, methinks.

Would be bloody typical if somehow O'BRIEN ended up at Rochdale now lol.

The only trouble is these are 6 month loans.  There's no long term building.  Promotion this season Is a must

Doubt the long term plan is to stay in the Prem. If we get there and then drop down again, O'Brien would be an excellent addition to have alongside parachute payments

I can't see how anyone could defend the infuriating comments that a team in the play offs at the end of January doesn't specifically aim for the top 6. Embarrassing.

O'Brien would be an excellent signing especially with an obligation to buy should we go up, the owners and the structure below have no no interest in going up anyway!

Just feels like a window where the final comment will be us missing out on everyone but "tried" but lets hope I am wrong.

Unless it's a false flag. We know that GB and JDT like to keep their cards off the table in the hope of flying under the radar

I said the lad was aeging, which at 28 he is. He's far from past it, which I didn't claim

He's the exact same age (born literally the same day) as Jamal Lowe who you said we should "definitely" take on, a few hours back.

The exact same height as well (though I'm struggling a little on whether that's also relevant or not...)

  8. It's good that everyone is talking about Qatar, its abhorrent human rights record and views on homosexuality.

But the thing people should be focusing on more than anything else is the factor that 6,500 migrant workers have died building the stadiums for this world cup, the rest simply pales in comparison - I don't understand why this is hardly mentioned in comparison to everything else that's going on. The hatred people from these countries must feel towards putting on an event for rich people (particularly from the West) and the countries they belong to having almost total ignorance, it's definitely going to come back to bite us at some point, probably soon.

If a relative unproven striker like Cornet can be sold for 17.5 Million, anything under 20 Million for Brereton is just pure and utter folly.

The problem here is it appears to other Clubs we are desperate to offload but we have our Billionaire owners to thank for that.

Cornet had 200-odd appearances for Lyon, before going to Bumley. Definitely proven quality.

    Is it though…

Yes, there are more factors than that:

    - Will the player continue to provide the same output if we don't sell them now (will they be as motivated to play well, will their current form continue, what happens if they get an injury? Etc)?

    - Do we need that player specifically to get the big prize - is it possible that we can replace the player's quality with the the money generated (and, also, can we turn that into a long term investment rather than one we're just about to lose out on in a year's time)?

    - Do we want to lose the player for no money in a year more than getting a 2x return on our investment now?

Gut feeling says though, I don't think the money will be reinvested well (if at all) if BBD goes, so I'd rather we keep him in the hopes of firing us to the Prem.
