  1. Howdy Guys

Im willing to pay for the actual cost of the jacket, but if somebody is willing to post it to me, then please assist me. Ive been looking all over for this particular jacket, in size XL. The Onerovers store doesnt seem to have any of these left.

    Jacket

Ive never used Ebay before, dont have an account either. I also dont feel comfortable with it, even if it is safe.

Based on the rand to Pound exchange rate, it works out to about 275 South African rands.

Please PM if anybody is willing to assist me.

    Cheers

  2. I won this in a competition through skybet, but being halfway through the season I already have a home shirt so I don't want it.

I listed it at £9.99 originally and its only on £11.55 now with 6 hours to go, so anyone who wants a new shirt who doesnt already have one I doubt you will get one cheaper than this at the moment

    only 6 hours to go...

Would love to take it from you, but the postage would cost me more than the shirt. :(

  3. Im taking a back seat from Rovers, for the rest of the season. This incident, has made me realise that there is more to life than just football. A few points to consider:

    1. Alcohol/Beer should either not be allowed at the ground, or limited to 1 per fan.

    2. Those who drink, should be sat near the front instead of the back. The club, should check with each ticket sold if they drink or not.

    3. People who take their kids, should be sat near the back.

Those are just suggestions, and there are many other factors which will not make it possible.

    To the fan who died:

R.I.P, may the heavens open up for you, may the angels be your guide and protect you, and know that you will be able to meet uncle Jack R.I.P.

    Very sad sad day.

  4. Ive encountered similar behaviour, here in Cape Town. The use of alcohol, and the use of ganja has made watching matches unbearable. The way to solve the problem, is to unfortunately not sell or allow alcohol at the stadium.

  5. I don't know if it has already been posted, but what amount of Benni's goals for Rovers have come from the Penalty Spot?

if you trying to argue the fact, that Benni scores majority of his goals from the penalty spot, then you must be a fool. Ruud Van Nistelrooy, scored goals by standing on the opposition goal line, and also scored his fair share of penalties. A goal scored from a penalty, the last time i checked is consisdered a goal. 50 odd goals, in 130 odd games is pretty good, and considering he hasnt played much in the last few years is pretty impressive. Benni is not the problem as far as im concerned, `sam is mainly to blame for allowing Benni to sit on the bench despite his obvious talents. A fat Benni, is more of a goal threat than the hard working duo of Roberts and Di Santo

  6. Well some of you, moans when Benni doesnt run around and doesnt work hard. Well, in Di Santo and Roberts we got 2 hard working strikers who offer no goal scoring threat. If Benni was on the end of those 2 Di Santo chances, we would have seen goals. Benni, Kalinic, Van Heerden and Hoiliett are all being frozen out by a stupid idiot. Benni would be a better option than Di Santo, Hoiliett would be better than Diouf, Van Heerden better than Andrews, and Kalinic deserves more of a regular start. We cannot afford to keep playing the likes of Andrews, Diouf, Grella and Di Santo. Like i said before, we cant just depend on a hardworking striker, if he cant score goals. Benni might be lazy, but how a player of his goal scoring ability finds himself on the bench, is beyond unbelievable.

  7. Right on cue eddie!!! You don't half put your foot in it with amazing regularity. Ramsey ditched the wingers and effectively played 4-3-3 with 3 strikers. He was derided for his team of 'wingless wonders' until Bobby Moore lifted the World Cup that is. Yesterday 2nd half SA did the same.

Talking crap about football eddie? You are the master. :P

At the end of the day Gord, what yesterday showed was that playing 3 strikers would be a better option than the ineffective Diouf and MGP. The system worked like a treat, with Dunny and Bert in central midfield, and Roberts and Benni out wide and linking up with Di Santo. You could add Nzonzi in the midfield as well when we playing away, and then have Kalinic with Di Santo when we at home. In so doing when we away, we still have 2 strikers, but with Benni and Roberts in midfield if that makes any sense.

  8. Ah right lets pick out 3 performances (2 of which were against dire just promoted sides) and brush off the rest of the games we have played?

Please explain how 4-4-1-1 can be positive? At all

Please tell me who this target man is who fits into this role?

Please tell me why we are in the relegation places with one of the worst away records in the country and also one of the most shocking goal differences in the league.

Yes clearly 4-5-1/4-4-1-1 is working a treat.

4-4-1-1 is like 4-4-2, except a midfielder or striker, sitting behind the other striker. What LeChuck is getting at, is that if we play an attacking game, then we can be more of a threat to the opposition. However, with Sam adopting these defensive long ball tactics its stifling the formation. Our midfield and defence are constantly under pressure, because the ball gets knocked up field and comes back in a flash. If we adopt a more attack minded approach, we basically running with 5 midfielders linking up with the striker. With the attacking 4-4-1-1 tactic, we still have the effect of a 4-4-2 formation.

  9. Sam is trying to play players in their best/natural positions, if he has to do that then he can't fit McCarthy and Dunn both into the team. I think everyone here would prefer McCarthy got back to his best and stayed with us, but if we get results without him then I won't complain.

Dunny behind Benni and Kalinic/ Di Santo, in a 4-4-2 formation. Both in the same team, Dunn the provider, 1 striker either Kalinic or Di Santo holding the ball up, and Benni to finish. Diouf down the right, Bert behind Dunny and Pedersen down the left.

  10. For me the big difference is in how the opposition defence has to play against each of these two players. Against Roberts they have a battle - also knowing they have to be wary of the ball over the top utilising his pace. Against McCarthy - just play a half decent off-side trap and you know you will have a reasonable amount of free kicks every time Rovers attack.

In a good side, with plenty of pace he would probably be a good player. In a team devoid of a half decent passing midfield player (excl Dunny), with little pace - he is a luxury that I am afraid we can't afford.

David this is rubbish. The fact that he gets caught offside, shows that he makes the runs to get on the ball. One of the old school managers, cant get to his name now, said that there is nothing wrong with getting caught offside. There will come a chance, when the defence makes an error in judgement, and you in. He called it persistance with a bit of luck. His poor timing could be up to him, or it could just be the midfield not delivering the ball to him quick enough. At this point in time, we could do with a goal scorer, and not a lump like Roberts. How many goals has Benni scored in the premiership, compared to Roberts who has been longer in the English leagues. Anybody?

  11. Id try this one out

    --------------Robbo--------------

    Chimy -- Samba -- Nelsen -- Givet

    ---Emerton----NZonzi----MGP-----

    --------------Dunn--------------

    --------Di Santo--McCarthy------

It gives us the ability to play both Benni & Di Santo + Dunn, it also allows us the 2 centre midfielders (Emerton & NZonzi), however would require us to get Emerton to also help on thr right, and have Chimbonda bombing forward to support him when on the attack - therefore effectively leaving 3 centre backs to defend any counter attacks.

    Robbo

    Jacobsen Givet Samba Chimbonda

    Emerton Nzonzi Diouf

    Dunn

    Benni Kalinic

  12. No its no surprise buts its the first time I've seen quotes even if they are from his agent?

Its the part about Van Heerden as well wanting out that surprises me. I thought he was one for the second half guess he's decided not to wait that long.

To put the record straight here, both Benni and Elrio want to be part of the world cup squad in South Africa. Elrio has always been part of the squad, but due to Sam doing his best to overlook him with nonsense about him having to bulk up 1st. Benni is still SA's best striker, and will want to impress Carlos Alberto Parreira. People on here think Benni should be defending, when he has always roamed up front, which looks as if he is lazy. He is our best goal scorer, and better than Roberts

  13. TBH, all the above do come with reputation, high potential or proven ability. Plessis, Babel and Cavalieri were highly sought after young players, Aurelio was excellent at Sao Paulo and Valencia, Skrtel was a standout for Zenit and Voronin scores goals in Germany for fun.

Benitez is just @#/? and a fraud who wins trophies with other manager's team.

To be quite honest, i think Benitez has been too long at Liverpool. He has slowly turned them from top 4, to more like a mid table team. His tactics and team selections, have been horrible. Hicks and Gillet(sp) have got it wrong, by either being too stupid to sack him, or to greedy to pay him when he gets sacked. If Benitez goes, then Mancini or Rijkaard are options. Maybe Souness makes a return ;-)
