  1. Got to say that with Van Nistlerooy bagging a goal in midweek and Ferdinand being passed fit alongside Rooney who is in top form the omens don't look good, except this is exactly the kind of challenge we have been looking for, against a side who will play football, can Mokeona, Todd and Nelsen follow Rooney & Scholes' runs from deep?? if they do we could nick it, if not then the planning could go out of the window and a hiding could be instore, we'll see!
  2. you've got to be joking?! what makes him captains material then? Dont let the fact that you like the guy cloud your judgement...he's lazy and not a team player. There must be six or seven players who have more of a presence and influence over the team than Thompson does, so why is he the (rightful) Captain? please enlighten me.

apologies, todd too had a virus.

  3. I guess that makes me a series of symbols and punctuation marks. I should qualify that statement and say some Geordies are............ I'm not a fan of Newcastle fans as they're always claiming to be the 'best fans in the world' because they all rediscovered that they had a team when Mr. Hall dished out the cash in the early 1990's. It's very arrogant, and the way they have never even given Souness a chance wasn't good either.

we dont say we are the best fans, the media hype it all up!! yeah we take thousands away to matches get ###### and have a laugh, but lets be honest i dont think you fans would begrudge us getting a trophy would ya??

If it's at the expense of us then hell yeah! However if we cannot win it then to see Shearer score a hat-trick and break the record, then go on to lift the F.A. Cup would be nice, shame it can't be against Manure, ironically this could actually be a bad thing for you as then he would definatly retire!

  4. There was a topic on here a few months back, about a group of Newcastle fans who had started a campaign.

    http://www.souness-out.co.uk/

They had a message board and were trying to get t-shirts made to get Souness the sack. Thought I'd try and go on the site this morning, and its mysteriously disappeared. Wonder if they couldn't afford to keep it going? Perhaps it's more to do with the fact they're in the FA Cup Semi Final, UEFA Cup quarter final, and have won their last 8 matches- or am I just being cynical. laugh.gif

    the link doesn't work.

why dont you read the whole of the paragraph you just quoted

    there lies your answer

and there goes my head, hanging away in shame withstupid.gif

  6. New home kit blue and white halves but thankfully back to white shorts.

Away kit, black body, silver sleeves.

    Trust me!

I bet your wrong! However I would expect you'll be right about the shorts because from the amount of people who have moaned about the shorts being blue either on here or just in general I would think the club would want to shut these up. Still think we should have done something to commemorate the tenth anniversary of winning the league, i.e. having the kits modelled on the kits from then.

I know away kit is primarily black...........

you 'know' ? I KNOW your wrong.

  8. Robbie Williams let me entertain you?? Republica - Ready to go is a good shout too.

Has anyone noticed that the premier league theme various in the position its played from club to club some play it when the teams come out then build up to something good, some play it when their shaking hands, either way it really is rubbish and helps to lose any atmosphere that was there beforehand.

  9. As I posted on the Euro match thread, would love it if we came out to Highway to Hell by ACDC, as Bayer did last night.

That'd wake up the Jack Walker stand laugh.gif

On a side note, what were Bayer doing playing "You'll Never Walk Alone" after the match, not only have their own fans had to put up with gettig trounced and knocked out of the most prestigious european competition, they play their opponents anthem dry.gif

    Back on Topic; Final Countdown!

  10. I was upset that Robben wasn't fit because I had been relishing watching Chelsea in the form they were in when the draw was announced playing Barcelona in all their glory too but tonight was a fantastic match without Robben so go on Chelsea do it for England and Duffer well what can you say we all knew how good he was and now he's got the stage he deserves and relishes, will be fantastic when he lifts that trophy it'll be success for many people especially Kenny Dalglish, the acadamy staff and everyone who has worked with him! We should all be very proud, just a shame he couldn't fulfill it with Rovers, ten years earlier and who knows!!!
  11. Matteo seems to have a lengthy lay-off as well and with Gresko out until next season, perhaps Gray will be recalled from Leeds if anything happens to Nissa. Certainly Jay McEveley doesn't seem anywhere near the first team at present.

I talked to Jay in a club in liverpool on a tuesday with the first dingle game a week and four days away (if my maths is correct) he said he had a problem with his ankle and wasn't really sure what it was/when he would be right. He appeared for the reserves for the first time in midweek though so I would expect him to return to the bench in a week or so.
