  1. Providing Emerton, Savage and Dickov all make it I'd pick:

    Friedel

    Neill (much improved of late)

Nissa (Micky Gray what have you done?)

Nelsen (looks to be top quality)

    Todd (another excellent defender)

Thommo (surely has to be better than Emerton at the moment)

Pedersen (can he ever do wrong again??)

Sav (really was missed in the second half against scum)

Tugs (has been another inconsistant season but can still have v.good days)

Stead (he really will come good but only if he is PLAYED!!)

Janny (him and Stead will score more than any others)

    however probable:

    Friedel

    Neill

    Nissa

    Nelsen

    Todd

Emerton (can anyone flatter to decieve anymore than him??)

    Pedersen

    Savage

    Tugay

    Dickov

    Gallagher

also can we please have a decent bench against Burnley it was a joke, at home in the cup when it is obvious we will need to break 10 men down and Dickov is also playin when he shouldn't really due to his groin and we have:

    Enckleman (fair enough)

    Short (again can't argue)

Reid (can run all day but little ability, how about someone who can do something different like thommo!!)

Flitcroft (surely 1 mid is enough when Dickov could have got injured at any point)

Bothroyd (not play for ages since last injury and he is useless anyway, where are steady and janny???)

  2. Dingle on radio Lancs:

'' tickets were on sale to Burnley fans for the cis stand(Riverside) at Deepdale on Saturday''

    laugh.gif

Worryingly i've heard off one of the interbreds that that is the case!

Don't worry LATD. It's a good old fashioned snowballing football myth. Every Burnley fan at Deepdale probably heard this and now takes it as gospel.

Still we'll never know for sure cos they aint gonna score. wink.gif

Quick change that to "we'll PROBABLY never know because they MIGHT not score" dont jinx it please!

  3. Bergkamp has to be up there for his constant nasty kicks, flicks, elbows, stamps etc.. that he gets away with like no other, i'm glad he got a 3 match ban for not doing much still doesn't make up for years of getting away with it.

Surely this is the only club in the country that could have this poll without Dickov or Savage getting a mention by the majority hehe biggrin.gif

  4. modes, we can now change the home kit every season. This was discussed several times lasy year.

O great thats going to mean even more money to teh club shop rolleyes.giftinykit.gif

Not really, work on buying the home shirt each time it is out:

    Old structure:

    1st season = 1 shirt £40

    2nd season = same shirt £0

    3rd season = new shirt £40

    total = £80 for 2 shirts!!

    This way

    1st season = 1 shirt £25

    2nd season = new shirt £25

    3rd season = newer shirt £25

    total = £75 for 3 shirts!!

This works out even better when you consider the way most modern day shirts are looking tatty by christmas of the first year of purchase and we're on a winner me thinks tinykit.gifbiggrin.gif

  5. There are a few facts here:

Jansen is not as good as he was

Jansen will not be as good as he was

    however

Jansen will still score more goals than any of our other strikers, I think that he is suffering a bit from everyone's memories of him, if he came in as a new striker I think we would be saying that he's an improvement on what we have and would make a good addition however because previously he was one of the best english strikers around he just constantly gets compared to this and he will sadly never reach that again, but he still has plenty to offer, and goals are certainly still in him!

  6. Before the draw I said I didn't particularly fancy the dingles away, it'll be a difficult game as liverpool, spurs and even man u have found out but we definatly have the ability to win as long as the players have the desire then we shouldn't have a problem.
  7. As I've said before this whole thing surrounding Ferguson and Bellamy stinks of Soeuy influence to me, he signs Boumsong from his good friend, he then asks his buddy Murray to do him a favour seen as though he's just paid over the odds for Boumsong, Murray agrees and unsettles Ferguson, he then says Rangers can't afford him, Souness wants to get rid of Bellamy and so he knows this will attract Hughes, however he also knows Hughes cant afford him so may have to sell Fergy, the outcome:

    Souness gets Boumsong,

He also gets Ferguson for less than he would have probably done if he had just waded in with a bid before Rangers,

and Souness also gets rid of a player he doesn't want.

Rangers get a good price for Boumsong.

  8. He's got 30 months left on his contract contrary to what some people (i.e. murray) thinks, so leave him to rot in the reserves, train with the kids unless Rangers meet our price for him.

I still have a sneaky feeling that Rangers wont come up with the funds but very late on in the transfer window a certain Mr. Souness does, one or two things have made me a bit suspicious and I would not be surprised at all.

  9. Am I the only one rather put out by the comments from Rangers??

Rovers were being accused of being bang out of order by a bunch of hypocrits from birmingham when publicly we did nothing wrong.

Then Rangers decide that its ok to publicly state that another clubs player would love to go to them etc.... BANG OUT OF ORDER!!

  10. Nice to see a return to the squad for Janny, he seemed to be promising some good scoring form before his injury. Will be an interesting team, here's the squad:

    Keepers

    Friedel

    Enckleman

    Defenders

    Todd

    Johansson

    Amoruso

    Nelsen

    McEveley

    Gray

    Midfielders

    Emerton

    Pedersen

    Thompson

    Mokeona

    Flitcroft

    Tugay

    Douglas

    Strikers

    Dickov

    Stead

    Gallagher

    Jansen

    Johnson

    I'll go for:

    Friedel

Right Back (no idea can Nelsen play there??)

    McEveley

    Todd

    Johansson

    Thompson

    Emerton

    Flitcroft

    Tugay

    Dickov

    Stead

    Subs:

    Enckleman

    Mokeona

    Pedersen

    Jansen

    Gallagher

    Portsmouth 1-1 Rovers

    Yakubu Emerton

  11. Conspiracy theory anyone, Souness good friends with Murray, always in contact with each other, Souness struggling to agree terms with Murray over Boumsong, just happens to comment that Fergy may not be as happy as he would have everyone believe at Ewood and in Souness' opinion would love a return to Ibrox.

Murray suddenly thinks, ah ha Boumsong keen on moving, money to buy Fergy, and he wants to come back, that'll appease any fans upset at Boumsong leaving!

  12. while some people are calling Fergy outstanding and others average, the overal opinion is:

    He's not a hard tackler

    he's not a goal scorer

he does not create many chances

    he's not a great passer

he cant't take free kicks well

    but

    he is neat and tidy

    he is a good leader

    he can infleuence games

I have to agree with Chris on this one, there is no doubt Fergy is a good player however as Chris states he is not excellent at anything really just decent at most things, surely we'd be better with two players excellent at their own jobs, i.e. Faye or Savage (defensively) and a good attacking midfielder.

  13. I am really interested in going and was looking for help and adivce from experienced 'world-cup ites' that could pass on some knowledge, on everything from getting England tickets to travelling and accomodation.
  14. Do the club really expect supporters to stump up this kind of cash for a cup replay that will most likely be on the box and in any case comes after a lot of games in a short space of time! Absolute disgrace!

On a side issue there is a discount for adults but none for students, just because I've gone to university does it no longer matter that I've had a season ticket for the past 15 seasons?!?

  15. While all the national press are saying that Blackburn itself is a mile or two further away from Birmingham what they fail to mention is that to live outside Birmingham and to commute to the training ground would take a fair amount of time, whereas Savage could easily live in Bolton, Manchester or Liverpool etc.. as many Rovers players do and easily make it to training, thus that is how he would be nearer to his family. Depending on how much money we have to spend overall (as I wouldn't want to spent our whole budget on him) £2.5mil does not sound too bad a deal, although his value is only going to decrease as he is 30, surely this has to be taken into consideration.
