    Probably no one...all lies

Typically morose post which adds nothing to the discussion.

I'd like to see Chapman with fee agreed, Gallagher with fee agreed, some kind of way to get Maddison in (as a load with permanent move at the end) and maybe young premiership winger loan.

I think it's been a decent window, tied down loads of players, brought in a hot prospect from City and Armstrong FOR A TRANSFER FEE, I never thought I'd witness us spend money ever again. We've still got the loan window, bring in some pace, Chapman with a view to buy would be good and pretty cheap you'd imagine given his contract situation.. A bit of relief for Danny Graham and possibly another centre half from the fringes of a Premiership side and we're laughing.. Think we've got a pretty decent side, certainly should have enough about us to finish midtable, if not the play-offs... We're organised and motivated- a lot of sides in the championship that have been here for years aren't..

Careful, this is quite a chirpy post. Expect the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to be along soon...

So how many Clubs allow their better players out on loan?

My gut is that we'll see a lot of activity throughout the rest of August by loads of clubs.

The point I was making is that surely the time for hand wringing/knicker twisting is after the second window closes on the 31st. To do it now seems a bit superfluous..

I lost count of the number of people saying the window is not over yet, throughout the last month. Over and over again, as a stock response. We have plenty of time left. Just trust Tony, as if anybody didn't trust our manager. The same people couldn't wait to willy wave when there were bids for a few players. And minutes after the window shuts the fishing rods come out, and the rhetoric becomes 'Can't wait for Saturday, trust the lads we have'. Anyone surprised?

Some fans are naturally frustrated. It's ok to get annoyed. You still want the best for the club.

ffs...it's not that difficult to get your head around. The window isn't closed yet.

Bottom line, we've signed no one.

Why does it feel like you're enjoying this a little too much?

It is slightly disappointing but the time to spit your dummy out is if no meaningful activity occurs before the end of August.

Lots of people seem to be talking about today as if that's it for transfers 'til Christmas - clearly this isn't the case,

  8. If we do indeed have £4m to spend according to the rumours about the Freeman offer I'd prefer to spend it on Maddison & Bauer and then maybe bring in Chapman & Gallagher as loans with an option to buy. Job done...although, having said that, like a few others I worry that our central midfield options (despite there being lots of them) aren't good enough. Back-up keeper is the least pressing option for me.

The chance of a deal tomorrow must be very low. No money left.

Christ, you make Stuart, 47er and Roverandout look chirpy!

You've been banging on like this for days, why don't you change your user name? 'Harbinger of doom', something like that would work...

Hibs said to want £4 million for Mcginn, as I'm sure they would rather sell to us than Celtic we ought to offer them £2-2.5 Million and a Northern Ireland international central midfielder to replace Mcginn. It would get Evans and his wage of the books and get us a top midfielder.

    Like your thinking!

  11. I've come to the conclusion that the Smallwood/Evans combo isn't up to scratch for what we need. Smallwood always looks like he's blowing out of his ar$e after 60 minutes and like he's running through treacle when tracking back. Evans isn't much better and will no doubt be out injured for much of this season.

Davenport and the Hibs guys would be a marked improvement for me. We need more creativity & class in there.

  12. Good signing - I was at MK away last season when he scored a cracker. Went from us defending to a long ball over the top for Armstrong -  serious pace took him away from the defender and he finished clinically. A great counter attacking goal. No reason why this won't work in the Championship especially with teams being more likely to push on against us. He gives us a real outlet.

  13. There's no right or wrong answer Stuart - each to their own I guess. Regarding our dingle neighbours, I might have a sneaky punt on them coming down this year - bought nobody yet, have also got to contend with Europe with a relatively small squad. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we locked horns with them again next year.
