Well seems to be 2.5 mil rather than 1 mil but personally I'd pay it - just what we need.
-
Be a shame to lose out when he's effectively said that they'd take payment over 2 years. Just over a million a year for 2 years - if we can't afford, or aren't prepared to pay that then we deserve to struggle this year.
-
That's urinated on some ppeople's bonfires - rumours of holding out 'cos of lack of transfer activity/potentially had changed his mind.
Good things come to those who wait.......

Wigan have signed Callum McManaman on a permanent deal. Another 'skint' club we need to be finishing above doing solid work in the transfer market....
I'd have had either McManaman or Wildschut here, fair enough if Mowbray doesn't fancy them but I sure hope we've better lined up instead.
Did next to nothing last season and the season before that - I'd say he's just gone back to where he started. Not for me...

A double move for Marriott and Maddison could solve a lot of our problems.
I did think that looking at the clips - they seem to have developed a good understanding together. I think Marriott's the more expensive of the two though and clearly Derby have been sniffing around him for ages.

Seems to have a bit of pace too -not lightning fast by any means but good for when you're running at defenders.
Him on one wing (seems to switch a bit), Armstrong on the other and things would suddenly be looking a whole lot better.

If I had a million I had pay it myself... really hope we get him.

Rich says the link isn’t Maddison and isn’t anything to get too excited over - so not Chapman either.
Sounds like a loan
Which still doesn't mean we're not interested in. Every chance it could be happening 'off-grid'. Mowbray is on record as saying what a good footballer he is.

I am so sure we are in for Maddison. Peterborough chairman literally replies to all fans, but has avoided answering every single question from Rovers fans. Maybe Rovers asked to keep it quiet, that's how Mowbray usually likes doing business?
He didn't answer me either and I didn't even mention Maddison by name. Think the cheeky fecker even deleted the tweet so it must be true!

Permanent or loan neophox?

Popped on for any transfer news and all I'm seeing is this...
Maybe calm down a little???

I'd prefer Maddison to Kent.

Was about to post this, so thanks for saving me the trouble!
Usual caveats for a highlights package, but the fact that they can put together a 6 minute video for one season is encouraging! Could you get 6 minutes from Feeney's entire career?
Obviously has great quality of delivery, but seems to like to run with the ball given the chance too. Couldn't tell if he had absolutely blistering pace or not, but definitely quicker than anyone else we have there at present.
Fully agree with this.
Looks to have great delivery, plenty of assists, scores a few, takes a mean penalty, appears to pick a pass and have decent pace - what's not to like?
Get him in plus Bauer, Chapman on loan with fee agreed, Armstrong and maybe a back-up keeper and I'd be happy if we had no further business beyond that.

Despite your disparaging him he was by far our best performer last night. Still, don't let things like how he's actually playing get in the way of your dismissing him.

Have you read "I am Legend?" if you had you would have probably leapt toward the screen like the Gremlins did at the end the classic that bears their name.
No, I've not read the Matheson novel so I better give it a go as I do like a bit of sci-fi.
Being a dog lover, the saddest part of the movie was when he lost his canine friend. The thought of being suddenly totally alone without even your canine pal for company I found very disturbing.

Finished "Choke" by Chuck Palahniuk... laughed my ass off and was disturbed at the same time. If you have ever wanted a glimpse into the world of a sex addict who likes to pretend he is chocking in restaurants so someone will love him, have at it.
and "Stir of Echoes" by by Richard Matheson. I would feel rather more for the main character if he were not such a soppy tool. Good book though and didn't see the end coming, well I kind of did, but not quite like that. Oh, it also does not matter if you have seen the slightly rancid movie, as it is nothing like it. Much like the abortion of "I am Legend"
Ouch..sometimes you need to get off the fence rebelmswar
I actually liked both of those movies (Stir of Echoes & I am Legend )...I'll get my coat before you tear me a new one..

Watched Super 8 last night.
It was pretty good, although not quite as good as I'd thought it would be.
Maybe my expectations were too high...
Brilliant movie, lots of shocks and funny moments. It's as much a mockery of suphero movies, as it is a portrait of a deranged, mentally-ill person. It was funny, but it's kinda disturbing when you think about the fact that there were so many allusions to a character that you would normally see as the 'antagonist' and psycho-murderer in a crime/thriller movie or a show like Law & Order. It's not for everyone though, but if you're actually comparing it to a teen comedy like Kick Ass then you've probably missed the point. This movie goes to extremes, it went from people laughing out loud to sounding very uneasy and squeamish in the cinema.
It's one of many movies I've seen this year at the Melbourne International Film Festival. Lots of really bizarre plots that you won't find normally - have loved every movie I've seen so far.
Saw a great little Aussie movie last week. Animal Kingdom. The woman who played the dysfunctional famiy's matriach was scarily psychotic.

Just bought a film I've been wanting to watch for a while, based on reviews by my mates.
The Abyss
Hope its good!
Can anyone confirm or deny?
I enjoyed it...ground-breaking special effects at the time.
Directed by Cameron, back when he was making proper movies.

I'm about to finish a book called 'The Power of the Dog' by Don Winslow and it's been fantastic.
A big sprawling crime epic spanning 30 years of the war against drugs in America:obsessed DEA agents and drug cartel leaders locking horns. It's violent, brutal and thought provoking.
It's the first Winslow book I've read but I strongly recommend it.
Thursday deadline.
