Why didn’t he dive on it and take the free kick?
Amazed how bad this is after the position we were in

There’s no point even commenting on that

Huge task now, wind in their sails
Wouldn’t mind but this lot have been abysmal
-
The standard is shocking here from both sides; that passage of play with JRC and Bannan summed it up

The lad they brought on looks a train wreck we need to pressure him

They’ve done nothing but we look so dodgy at the back
What Is Pears doing there he’s walked out past the ball

I’ve criticised Pears as much as anyone, but for me, Hyam is at fault for that goal.
Man’s half asleep.
Both for me if you come that far you have to be getting it to safety

Ridiculous Sammie, he’s just insane

An absolute stinker of a goal to concede that, Dolan wasting the counter then shocking from Pears and Hyam
-
Ideal start, Sammie KO’d after 30 seconds

We don’t make things easy as a club do we?
I’ve not been back to Ewood since my dad passed a year or so back, my wife said she tried to book tickets for me and my eldest as a surprise but couldn’t get through the website which kept throwing up issues.
I assume it’s to do with her not having a purchase history but still we seem to complicate things!

Of course stoke won
Of course QPR winning

We couldn’t have asked for much more today, stoke and QPR aren’t relevant in reality, plus if you want to consider them then as least Stoke winning meant Plymouth lost

I believe Wednesday have sold their 7,000 so the home restriction is to prevent Wednesday infiltration.
That really would kick off with a 27,000 crowd (assuming Blackburn End upper remains closed) with another 7,000 from Sheffield spread around the home areas and some Rovers fans unable to get tickets...
As it is, it will be a rum do if we can't get 15,000 home fans for this one and a crowd of 22,000+.
Back to my boring a MUST NOT LOSE game but a draw pretty well secures Rovers finishing above Wednesday unless they can get a 17 goals swing in their favour in the last two matches...
We will be playing knowing the Huddersfield v Swansea and Rotherham v Birmingham results so we could be playing for a win that makes Championship football in 24/25 a certainty.
Doesn’t matter how the results go on Saturday in terms of the maths, win Sunday and its mathematically impossible to be relegated

As I keep saying we need 4 points to be mathematically safe! As of this minute!
Or 3 if it comes on Sunday.
If that happens there is no permutation of results that enables Sheffield Wednesday and one of Huddersfield or Birmingham to catch us along with Rotherham occupying the bottom spot

A draw was a fair result between Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City. They'll be a handful next week though.
For all their supposed battling Sheffield Wednesday aren’t making the most of it, it’s a tough game but one that they will now be much more nervous about than I expected this morning.
Thought we’d be going into it on the back of two losses and level on points with them resurgent instead they’ll feel bruised today.
-
After losing to a comedy goal and red card last week luck evened itself up for them today as they took the lead through a similarly calamitous goal….only to blow it out of the water 5 minutes later with the funniest one yet!

Win next week and we are safe mathematically
Wednesday wouldn’t be able to overtake us and only one of Brum or Hudds could with them playing each other

A point would be fine against them, Coventry is the game I fancy we seal it

All of a sudden stoke and QPR fixtures have become of interest

Five point cushion vs three before our match kicked off.
As it stands…
Even more crucially one game less to go, Birmingham will still need 2 positive results in their remaining 3 games even assuming we don’t pick up further points
Also a win for Sheffield Wednesday whilst not good for us drags stoke into the mix as well
-
We expected other teams to win today what we didn’t expect is our result offsetting it

I knew we’d win today, never doubted it, now need to not lose next week and I think we are nearly there

We’ve now turned next week into must must win and ramped the pressure right up, go into the last game needing something and it’s game over
