  1. He won't play for the club ever again, he will have to rot in the reserves on his large pay packet. As a fan i don't want to see him put on the blue and white ever again as he is a total disgrace. Him staying does far more harm than good. Just get rid of him, even if it means less money.
  2. He should be slammed he has acted like a complete @#/?. His Rovers career is finished, Sam definitely won't want him here after this and if we are stuck with him then he will be rotting in the reserves with no chance of ever featuring for the side again.
  3. Yep: http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~1944314,00.html
  4. It all comes down to the individual. Some players in Benni's situation would want to get back into shape and prove the manager wrong, others will have done what Benni has done i.e. don't give a ######. Plenty of players have been written off by their manager only to get back into some form and prove them wrong. Hodgson for example wanted to sell Zamora at Fulham and it was made public. What did Zamora do? sulk? did he heck, he has been playing some of the best football of his career and proved to his manager it was wrong to try and sell him.
  5. Benni is a shadow of the player he once was, he was never the same after Chelsea were showing an interest and the move never happened. He plays a decent game where he looks like he still has it then the following game looks ineffective and offers nothing. Its time to get rid, he is a big wage earner that clearly doesn't want to be here. Like others have said Hughes dropped Benni often because his heart clearly wasn't in it so i don't see how you can blame Sam for all this. I stuck up for Benni when i heard the news about him having to do extra training (but that was because i thought there were other players who should be doing the same) on reflection i was wrong, he is completely unprofessional. Keeping him at the club will do more harm than good, he has to go.
  6. In a no win situation really, if he goes it will likely be for less money (well less money than the manager/board wants). If he stays then it causes huge disharmony at the club, i just can't see the players wanting to play with him after this and he will be left to rot in the reserves picking up his large wage. I just think we now have to get rid even if that means for less money.
  7. Just seen SSN talking about it now, backs up what Rover the Moon said earlier. He told the reporter he didn't attend training on friday, hasn't gone in today and won't be playing for Rovers again. He wants to leave and West Ham is his prefered destination.
  8. Very professional Benni... Kicking up a stink could reduce the offer for him even further. I suspect Gold and Sullivan will be salivating over the disharmony and will put in a lower bid to help "take an unhappy player off our hands".
  9. Wouldn't surprise me... For me Niko has to start, scored against Villa in the FA Cup, hit the post twice against them in the first leg and has looked dangerous and trying to create something when he has played. I'd pick Niko then pick the formation/personnel to generate some chances for him.
  10. Not sure he will. Dunny was rested for this game tonight, i think its likely Kalinic will start with Dunny just behind him.
  11. We have so many players with contracts running out its hard to keep track! Well if thats true then £1.25 million is a joke, if it was running out the summer then i could see the club taking it when you consider Sam doesn't rate him plus an opportunity to reduce the wage bill going into the summer. If West Ham have put in a genuine bid it will be interesting to see Benni's reaction. I read a piece the other day that he would like to stay in England, but he needs to play week in week out to boost his World Cup chances. If Benni puts up a big sulk then i wonder how Sam and the club will react.
  12. I wouldn't be opposed to selling him depending on the replacement, not sure selling him to a possible relegation rival would be a good idea. I would rather if we do sell him, sell him to a club abroad.
  13. Get rid of them both. Too many past it and not good enough players in this squad.
  14. I think Benni is finished at this club, looks overweight and past it. Time to sell him and hopefully raise some funds to bring in a replacement, Kalinic is the future of this club but he needs a strike partner.
  15. Amazing if that article is true. There are plenty of players who deserve that sort of treatment far more than Benni, his performances haven't been brilliant every week but he is giving it a real go at the moment. He is one of the few showing a bit of passion and desire to win. Wouldn't surprise me if it was true, Sam keeps going on about players not performing and especially not scoring goals. Time Sam looked into the fact that strikers can't score goals with no frucking service. Bent, Torres and Drogba would all struggle to score a lot of goals in this team, its that devoid of creativity.
  16. Pretty much what I thought when I went to see it on Sunday in 3D. Being a sci-fi and action fan i just had to see it, brilliant film that i really enjoyed despite some of the plot clichés and some of the political and racial undertones in the film. The CGI and visuals are absolutely stunning, a gorgeous landscape of colors.
  17. He wants to play in a World Cup in his own country, to boost his chances he will need to play football week in week out. If an offer comes in January that offers him that and the club are happy with the fee he will be off. Benni has been playing well recently but I get the impression that Sam doesn't rate him or feel he is a key part of his future plans. I guess we will see how much Sam rates him when Dunny is back and fully fit, I suspect that Benni will be back on the bench when that happens.
  18. He showed unprofessionalism when he was unfit and overweight last season but despite doubts over his fitness he scores goals. He is a proven goalscorer in this league. The main problem is that Dunny is in superb form so he has to keep him behind the lone striker and Benni can’t play the lone striker role. But we all know that Dunny is unlikely to stay fit all season and with us not having another player to play the ‘Dunny role’ its likely we will switch to a 4-4-2, a formation that Benni can play in. Considering our resources and the likelihood of money being swallowed from any deal plus the wage budget needed to being trimmed I can’t see us coming out better off with such a deal. I’d rather keep Benni and look to offload Roberts, Pedersen and maybe a few others.
  19. Watched 'Taken' for the second time as it was on Sky Anytime/Sky Movies this week. Not a bad film, a french action thriller starring Liam Neeson. Some of the acting is questionable but its decent paced with plenty of action. Anyone else seen it?
  20. Looks like Benni's chances of getting back into the SA squad have increased now that Carlos Alberto Parreira has taken up the role again.
  21. Jonathan Pearce has done an article on the BBC about Benni and his future at international level after the depature of Santana: Will Benni save SA? Surely Benni will need games and will need to play well if he wants to feature for SA again. If Di Santo goes in January it could see Benni coming back into the team, can't see us having money to spend on a new striker. This change in the SA management might give him the incentive to get fit and play well for the side.
  22. Cardozo destroying them. Wish we had gone for him in the summer...
  23. Big fan of the Die Hard series. The first is definitely in my top 10 films. Personally i'd rank them: Die Hard Die Hard 2 Die Hard 4 Die Hard 3 Wasn't really a fan of three, i liked certain elements of it but overall it just didn't have that appeal that the others had. Alan Rickman was superb as Hans Gruber. Another film where he plays a brilliant villain is Robin Hood the Prince of Thieves as the Sheriff of Nottingham.
  24. Dzeko puts Wolfsburg 1-0 up against United. Giggs scores, 1-1 (His 150th goal for United).
