  1. A talented player who has made serious mistakes by letting his temper override common sense. To be fair though since the incident and Keegan becoming manager I haven't heard any incidents involving him.
  2. I wouldn't take him back, the guy is a liability.
  3. Everyone has spent big to win the title, even Man United who invested large amounts of money on developing their homegrown golden generation. I don't buy into this buying the title "outright" rubbish, the clubs who won the premier league spent the money wisely and reaped the rewards. Look at Spurs for example spent hundreads of millions over 2-3 seasons and all they have to show for it is a league cup. Great post Darth Paul
  4. No analysis whatsoever on match of the day after our game. It just showed the league table, talked up Man United and the program ended. What a joke
  5. Sea levels are rising, large ice sheets are melting at the poles. Like i said in my post i don't believe in this crap about us being the main cause of this warming, i attribute it to the Earth going through a climatic cycle. Ice cores have shown that the Earth has experienced many large temperature changes during the last several thousand years. So to summarise i do believe that the Earth is seeing an increase in warming, in particular some areas have seen a big change. But i do not believe we are the main cause of it. I agree totally with your views on the cutting carbon emissions etc. It will make not one iota of a difference. It annoys the hell out of me that the government is introducing all these green taxes and saying it’s to help the environment. It’s a complete lie, Its just another way for the Government to shaft us with more Taxes.
  6. Global warming is a fact, the earth is warming up, sea levels are rising, ice caps are melting etc. However my opinion differs from a lot of people when it comes to the cause of it. I've always been a believer that whilst man has contributed a small part towards it, the main factor is the Earth itself going through a climatic cycle. History has shown the Earth has gone through periods of extreme climatic changes, going from one extreme to another.
  7. England has some of the most brain dead stupid fans going. Talk of Bentley should never play again... What's he supposed to do when the targets are well man marked, and they aren't making any movement whatsoever. Not once did Owen try to run behind a defender.
  8. I have a feeling there will be a lot of negative press about Bents, and i don't think its fair. Most of the play from England either seemed to focus on the central or left side. Also many times you could see Bents holding his arms open wondering where to play it as noone was making any forward runs. You would of thought Owen would of tried to make runs behind the defense but he didn't.
  9. SWP and Young haven't been playing well for some time. Walcott has had an impact as a sub recently for Arsenal, though i don't think he has done enough to warrant a place. Crouch's inclusion baffles me, he hasn't had much game time at Liverpool for ages. In terms of Owen he has been scoring a few goals recently and probably deserves to be in the squad. Defoe is the in form english striker and should be in the squad, can't see why he was dropped.
  10. Who's your money on who will start on the right wing for England? My money's on Bentley to start with Beckham to come on sometime in the second half. It should be the case if Capello really is picking and selecting his team based on "current form".
  11. If the government uses that as a slogan to try and justify the use of ID cards then i can see why some people might fall for it. But i would argue why should we be pressured into something for fear of suspicion.
  12. I'm one of those that is totally opposed to ID cards, they don't help with crime, security or immigration like Labour keep bleating on about. Then there is the issue that you will have to pay a princely sum to get one, another tax in other words. With all the well publicised incidents of 'data' going missing, I can't see how this scheme can go ahead. Labour has proven they are truly incompetent in terms of data processing and storage. I just cannot fathom why anyone will be in favour of an ID card scheme.
  13. From the telegraph a few months ago: http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/mostpopu..._derbyshire.php "Derbyshire recently discovered his girlfriend is expecting twins and he celebrated with a goal in front of the Blackburn End, which prompted a baby-cradling gesture to the fans. Hughes added: "I believe his young lady is expecting twins so that's what his celebration was all about. "I was pleased for Matt because he went close a few times and he will always give you a threat in front of goal." ==== In terms of Derbs the player, he has a natural talent in that he is a natural goalscorer and has great movement. I just fear for his future development due to the lack of games he has been getting. I thought this season would be the time for him to push on as a player, but its been hard for him to get in the side with players of the calibre of Roque and Benni. I assume it was Sparky's plan to use all his strikers over the course of the season, however with the early exit from Europe and the FA Cup, the likes of Derbs and Rigters haven't had the opportunities.
  14. The reason why Derbs wasn't picked is found at the bottom of this article: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/inter..._Nightlead.html "Matt Derbyshire was not in Pearce's squad as his girlfriend is due to give birth."
