I thought the movie was pretty turgid. I sat there and kept thinking that it was the end – only to be disappointed that it wasn’t. The movie needed Sir Alan to reprise his role as the Sherriff of Nottingham. Didn’t quite know what to make of the whole thing, as I just sat there wanting to be impressed, but felt deflated and slightly robbed when I left.
Having been in one of the modern versions of those LC’s I do feel for the French coming across the channel stuck in one like that. I could not however, get over the fact that they traveled that distance in those flat bottomed boats and arrived at all. The arrows flying into the water ala Saving Private Ryan also amused me.
I know what you mean about wanting it to end. I've watched it again just to make sure I hadn't just dismissed it out of hand and realized that some parts I'd assumed had happened hadn't and there were actually scenes explaining things a little more. Doesn't do well for me that my attention has been so poor during a movie that I've missed whole scenes.
Sir Alan would have been awesome as opposed to the weasel that was the sheriff, if he plays a big part in the second inevitable movie I can't see him putting the frighteners up a 5 year let alone Crowe. The arrows were amusing, as was "King John's" haha fooled you (predictable) if he'd really done that he'd never have made out of his chair. Just out of curiosity why were we so keen on getting our liberty??? Was John Locke around in the supposed days of Robin Hood?
The new bonds are alright Craig is far more like Flemings character again. Its a big step in the right direction after the way they took Brosnan into a more star trek type realm. Invisible cars, indeed.

Kaka,Sergio Aguero,Milos Krasic and Mirko Vucinic will probably come to the Premier League over the summer. But Tevez,Van Persie,Torres(if no takeover at Liverpool)and Fabregas could well be leaving i would guess as things stand.
Who wants Van Persie?? (you can PM that if its hush, hush)
I truly don't want to lose Fabregas from our shores, he's my ideal footballer, so much talent in those boots of his.
I am not sure how Ancelotti will play both Kaka and Lampard as both want to push forward into the hole ala him and gerrard for england. Will be interesting to see how he makes it work.

Robin Hood must surely be one of the most remade films ever?
I know what you mean but the story is completely different from start to finish, I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be so different.
Its a reasonable film, but even after watching it I have to say I preferred "prince of thieves" even with its 2 hours of "bon jovi" like music.
It was good to get a bit more back-ground on the character for what surely will be a sequel in the near future.
I also liked Iron man 2 and your right the final fight scene with whip-lash was short lived. But there was the drones as well. Best scene is when he shows everyone what he does when he needs a pee.

I doubt Tevez will be at City next season with Real Madrid and Inter being very keen.
Gerrard will surely stay at Anfield.
And Aguero Chelsea or Inter.
Hear mixed messages over Gerrard, Rafa is far from popular amongst the players and he desperately wants a league winners medal. If Torres goes I just can't see him getting one there. There have also been lots of stories about him recently doing the rounds locally and not very nice at that.
It maybe possible to tempt him away, but abroad seems most likely.
Aguero well I was under the impression Chelsea was practically a done deal, at least that was what was being said in Jan.
No idea about Tevez. Would like to see him stay in England as it seems we may lose quiet a few of the premier leagues better players this summer.
-
Probably unless Massimo Moratti can get him Tevez,Aguero and Gerrard. He would stay if Moratti pulled that off,Long shot though.
Bloody hell, that lot would cost well over 110-120 million just in fee's let alone wages. Fighting off the likes of Chelsea, Madrid and trying to top Tevez's monstrous wages at City as well, can't see Moratti digging that deep. Oh well Inter will have to settle for Benteiz, although why on earth they want him is beyond me????
Since you live in Milan pop along and tell him he can have Roberts, Kalinic and Andrews for a cool 20 million Jose would be a fool not to turn that down.
From what I know its a shoe in that Jose is off to Madrid, champions league or no champions league. I for one will be very happy when he arrives there.
-
But will he leave having done the treble???
Well done Jose and Inter, guess Ranieri really is a loser!
-
Yea. Inter must score. Italy use the head-to-head thing rather than goal difference.
Cheers cn174.
End to end stuff with inter, they create so many chances how anyone can say he's defensive is mad!! They even have +40 GD, pretty high for Italy!!!
GOAL!!!! GOAL!!!!
Happy days was beginning to wonder if I'd ###### all my dollar away.
Curiously cn174, why can't I plus your posts?

Serie B will go to a play-off this season because there isn't a 10 point gap between 3rd and 4th.
So Torino still have a chance,we just need to hold Crotone off for the last 2 games.
Inter should be out of sight. They are going to have to score now with Roma 2 up.Cracking goal by De Rossi
Well there's something I didn't know, cheers.
Good luck in the play-offs!!!!
Yes they should, at least 2-3 to the good already. Roma being 2 up means they win the league? since its games against each other and not goal difference? Mourinho will dust them down and send them out chomping at the bit for the title.
There's no way Jose can Let Roma beat him after the comments he made about Ranieri, they'll get thrown straight back in his face.
-
Torino.
Just not quite close enough this season for them, here's hoping they climb back up to serie A next year. Would be good to see the turin derbies again.
Just what do Inter have to do to score!!!
What a strike by Balotteli great skills, when he gets his head straight (if ever) he'll be one hell of a player!
-
Inter have had a fair few chances as well, convinced they'll net 2-3 goals today.
Curiously what team to you support Roberto?
Inter or AC?
-
Inter should win 2-0 or 3-0.It would be a huge shock if Siena got anything.
One of their strikers just had a golden chance to score and shot wide from about the penalty spot!
Happy days.

Zenit have just won the Russian FA Cup.Beating Sibir Novosibirsk 1-0 with a penalty from Roman Shirokov.
Well done Luciano Spalletti.
In 3 hours time i expect a certain Portuguese fella to be celebrating too.
I'm waiting patiently for it to start, the game that is.
Have done the same as yesterday and put the whole of my bet365 account on Inter to win it today. Hopefully they don't torture me as Chelsea did yesterday.

Has any one seen the new Robin Hood film yet?
Watched it last night and was quiet surprised by all the plot changes, especially the one surrounding King Richard. I always thought he was Robin of loxly, not some impersonator. Having said that Blanchet was good, but can't really say I took to Russell as Robin.
I just don't get my head round why Hollywood constantly feels the need to rip the heart out of stories.
Have to say I did find the boats used by the frogs (where did they come from?) quiet funny as they looked like wooden versions of the ones used in the pacicfic.

Has anyone been watching The Pacific on Sky Movies, the Tom hanks WW2 series? I've been recording it, but never had time to watch any yet. My hard drives nearly full now so I need to make an executive decision on whether to bother or not.
Watch it, its a great series.
Agree, Leon and Shawshank are unbelievable, they are must watch films.
Am I the only person in the world though who still hasn't seen or have no intention of seeing, 'The Titanic'?
I've been to the cinema to watch it with the ex-wife (whilst courting), didn't see it all though fell asleep after 15 minutes, it was not my cup of tea. But if you don't oarticulary like Leo, at least you get to watch him drown!!

So...ex-Rovers coach Karl Robinson has replaced Ince as manager of MK Dons.
Another kick in the teeth for Ince, excellent.
I spat my coffee out in the library today when this came through.
A very surprising appointment. at 29 years old the youngest league manager (possibly even ever?)
Guess we'll find out next year if he's up to the job.
-
Just seen the wrap-up of the Coca Cola from last weekend and saw Joe Garner, Martin Taylor, Shefki Kuqi and Callum Davidson all scoring with Robbie Savage supplying an assist.
Ince went AWOL for the MK home game by the way.
He was probably on a coaching course.
-
Nice, bet they couldn't do it again if they tried. Defo one for the record books.
-
I bet the house on Marseille winning the league and still think they are the best side in French football. I think they'll do it.
So where you gonna live if they don't???
I can see brolly boy coming back maybe to Villa if O'neill wlks away this summer, people are saying West Ham but I'd rather stay at Twente than go there.

Well looks like I'll be buying the crappiest games available from now on sticking them in the loft and waiting 25 years. Better investment than wine!!!

Firstly my deepest sympathies to the lads family.
I truely do not know what to say. Rovers fighting Rovers, I despair.
-
Great footballer, extremely poor attitude.
Sums Benni up too a tee.
just so you know I believe he's fallen out with almost every club he's played for.
Ajax - pretty sure he demanded to move.
Celta Vigo - fell out with head coach who questioned his attitude
Porto - went on strike
Rovers - went on strike

Gazza, Ian Wright, and Andy Payton. I have seen each kiss the claret shirt. They all came to my last birthday party as well.
One drunkard, one adultery and a cannabis farmer, quality.
I take it your party was a family affair?
