  1. I personally believe we are burnt out!!!

We have played a high energy, physical game all season.

Up until the last couple of months, we have looked far fitter than the opposition, especially in the last 15 minutes.

This now isn't so apparent, and I feel it is down to exhaustion.

We saw the impact Moyes had on Everton's fitness last year (with some players looking much leaner). Yet they tailed off towards the end of the season, which I predicted would happen!

I believe that teams that rely chiefly on being fitter will always suffer given the amount of games played. sad.gif

    Just a theory ph34r.gif

  2. taht captains arm band should be treated with dignity and repect. if he can't or doesn't want to do this...then give the job to somebody else.

Do they wrap it up in cotton wool after the game???

The only thing that distinguishes this incident from all the others that happen in almost every game, is that this took place in public. Dressing rooms up and down the country will witness such incidents.

If fit he should start against Chelsea.

To the anti Todd league- Is it just coincidence that our recent bad run has occured when Todd has been out? dry.gif

  3. Not being churlish but I have never seen anything from Jenas to ever suggest that he is England squad material.  Defoe yes, King yes, Robinson yes, whilst the juries out on Carrick (only because there are so few around that play his position.)  But Jenas!?  Reminds me too much of that other overrated waster Kieron Dyer.

I guess it's just the usual Spurs influence eh?

    I could not agree more!

To everyone who says Gray had a bad game- you dont know what you're talking about. He got skinned for pace by Lennon, he isn't the first left back to have that done to him, and he won't be the last. Tell me any left back who could live with that raw pace.

  4. Spencey, would you compare him to captains from other clubs, i.e. Gerrard, Vieria, Keane?

Yes, maybe they are better footballers, but role models?

All three have got much worse disciplinary records than our Toddy!

Sorry mate , you have no argument, you are making yourself look silly (hence the responses to your ill thought out posts).

  5. Excellent document people, well done and good luck.

Reading the peice gave me an idea re. tickets.

Would it not be possible for the club to sell vouchers for next season's season ticket NOW. They could be available in denominations of say£10. This would give supporters a flying start in purchasing a ST, also, those who have bought vouchers would feel obliged to buy a ST whatever the performance of the team.

    Does that make sense? blink.gifhuh.gif

  6. For every decent signing he also signed a stinker

For every Friedel there's a Gresko, for every Tugay there is an Amo

For every Van Nistelroy (sp), there's a Djemba Djemba, for every Shcmeichel,(sp) theres a Taibi (sp)!

That must make Ferguson a bad manager dry.gif .

  7. Souness was lucky in that inherited top-class young players such as Dunn, Duff and Jansen.

Hughes has won nothing yet but he saved Rovers from certain relegation under Souness last season.

Souness has become a rich man by being a managerial failure.

    Enough said.

If my memory serves me right, when Souness came to the club,Dunn was ready to hand in a transfer request (frustration at not being played under Parkes), and Jansen was an intermitent member of the first team!

Souness showed some manegerial skills by seeing the talent, and building his team around those.

  8. Won't bother quoting all your post Hughesy but well said.

Anyone else on here who went to the game at Cambridge a few year's ago that was called off at half time due to a frozen pitch? Now that was effin cold and frustrating, but it is just all part of being a football fan.

Worst thing about that was that we went all the way back when it was replayed and lost!

    369707[/snapback]

Now that was cold! Coldest place I've ever been on earth.

  9. Having travelled 300 miles for this game, I am not happy (nor is my football hating girlfriend who had to cut short her seasonal visit to her parents!), but I don't blame the club. This is because they obviously did all they could to ensure the game went ahead, it is not i n their interest for the game to be postponed, financially and PR wise.

    Peace and goodwill thumbs-up.gif
