  1. Just to qualify: I don't want Benni to leave. It's starting to sound more and more inevitable though. He wants first team football for his SA and our SA doesn't want to give him first team football. Not looking good.
  2. Dunn, always a game away from injury Di Santo, leaving Benni, being ousted That leaves Kalinic and Hoilett to learn their trade from er, Roberts I'd say we need a couple of strikers if we ask Benni to go. One experienced PL one and probably another 6 month loan - preferably Di Santo.
  3. I don't want to imagine the fans' reactions if Sam sold Benni to bring in KD. It would go down like... something that goes down really badly.
  4. Cheers. If it were true, you have to wonder how we'd be able to replace someone of Benni's class! If it is one of Nicko's he tends to get more right than wrong - although he's been on today and didn't mention it. Let's hope this isn't Sam's way of funding a move for Kevin Davies. If he was on the agenda, surely the natural swap would be Roberts.
  5. Where's this rumour come from? Sounds like mischief making to me. Link anyone?
  6. Really not hearing it myself. The can't get close to their early albums. Although, "Pearl Jam" was pretty good. Maybe it's a grower.
  7. Not really into Muse but noticed that some people on here are. Saw this on iPlayer - thought I'd link: Muse: A Seaside Rendezvous I'm guessing the start of the opening song on this is the Doctor Who track you are on about, Ben.
  8. Agreed, and that's a pretty good barometer you're using - particularly these days.
  9. If that. So far all the talk has been about banning individual 'fans'. Comments from Bevington say it all really: When quizzed whether the clubs could face repercussions, he replied: "That's why we need to understand exactly what arrangements were put in place. We don't know the full details. "It would be wrong of me to say clubs face action because if the clubs have taken every measure possible, then why would they face action? FA to review ugly scenes Looks to me as though he's already positioning himself to take no action against the clubs.
  10. Never met Bobby Robson up close and aside from the touchline at Ewood only really on TV but he came across as a genuine bloke who fell in love with football as a child and decided he wanted to be a part of it for the rest of his life. Always a twinkle in his eye when he spoke about the game, his beloved Newcastle and England. He appeared delighted when Shearer scored the penalty that gave England the victory of Germany that he (and all of us) would have loved to have seen 19 years ago. Even when he was in the final throws of the @#/? illness that cancer is, he was still loving his football. RIP Bobby - one of the last true gentlemen of football.

(To the tune of Copacabana...) His name is Carlos Vil-la-nu-eva _ he plays with skill and flair and he scores from anywhere! His name is Carlos Vil-la-nu-eva _ he's magic on the ball and he's scored another goal!
