  1. :D :D Good lads Wigan. Didn't think it was the best performance but should've been more by half time to give us more of a cushion. Thought Pat Richards had a belting game.

Typical Wigan though forgetting to extend their alcohol licence!

Managed to make my dash back to Rovers as well in time for kick off! One derby was definitely better than the other.

  2. Brill performance from Wigan yesterday I thought. Was a bit worried at the end as Briers kept trying drop goals.

Am hoping that the game gets switched to next Saturday so that I can go. I think this will happen if Hudds town beat Leicester on Tuesday.

and in that case it'll be Huddersfield Giants vs Wigan on Saturday then Huddersfield Town vs Latics on Sunday.

  3. First Rugby League fix of the year watching Wigan's mainly 'Youth Meets Fringe Players' get a walloping of Leigh's full strength first string 30-6.

Still enjoyed my afternoon out and what a nice little ground, LSV, better than the new Salford stadium in my opinion.

Entering the car park I was briefly behind a car with Rovers and Wigan RL mini kits in thew rear window...Clare....Koi....?

    Wasn't me! (and I would've said hello if I'd seen you ;) )

I like LSV too, but rather too big for them me thinks! I think that the most money they make from any team playing there is from Rovers reserves.

Looking forward to new season :)

  4. I left The Killing off my list too. I absoutely love that show and is probaly my favourite one on TV at the moment. I'm onto my third episode of The News Room, which I've liked overall so far, but there are one or two annoying characters in it who I don't believe. I've also watched the first season of the Danish show Borgen, about the Danish primeminister. It's another excellent Scandanvian effort.

Have you watched the other Danish/Swedish one - Broen? I liked it, it was about a joint investigation between Danish and Swedish detectives after a body was found on the Oresund Bridge directly on the border line.

I'm a fan of Borgen and The Killing too. I guessed (more luck than judgement) the killer in series 1 in the third episode, but in series 2 it only dawned on me right before the end!

  5. Well that were crap!!

Thought we started alright and when Murphy scored that try I thought we'd do alright. But we were just very flat the whole game I thought. Didn't get it out wide enough - Charnley or Gelling didnt have enough of the ball I don't think. Dunno what Farrell was doing twice when he was in and decided to pass.

Had McIllorum not got himself sent off (wtf did he do that for?) then I think we'd have just edged it, but 23 minutes is a fairly long time to hold out with 12 men.

At least Warrington lost, but this could've all but sealed things in the league.

  6. Easy! Easy! Easy!

What a game :D Couldn't believe how we just kept going through their defence in the first half. Even when we were down to 11 men we defended very well.

Just back from Manchester, had an really good weekend. It's a good venue for it I think, plenty going on around the ground (including Stobartfest!!) which made up for it being a bit further out from city centre.

Only thing is was sitting in the sun for 6 hours is really not for me!! Will be getting tickets in the shade next time :D
