  1. Was a close one - I missed my last bus home too :D No way could I have left at 9:35 when Leeds had just scored to make it 26-24!! Ref was rubbish, for both teams really - Richard's and Carmont's tries were both forward I think. Thankfully they went to video ref for the Leeds try right at the end, though did think for a while Ganson was going to give benefit of the doubt.

Looking forward to Wednesday, hopefully we don't get complacent after the past three excellent wins and slip up.

    Couple of photos from Friday:

  2. Cracking game last night and nowhere near as difficult as many predicted. Totally dominated Huddersfield. We now appear to be building up a head of steam and moving up through the gears. Bodes well for the business end of the season.

Sam Tomkins? He's the Magic Man! Great crowd too, at just over 19k.

Boooooooooooooooooooo :D;) He is brilliant :)

Was expecting a bit more from Huddersfield tbh, but thought that Harrison Hansen was immense and good to have Hock back as well.

Need to capitalise on this good run and make sure we carry on vs Leeds and Cas in the game in hand. Rugby on a Wednesday night going to be weird!

  3. Pixars run is over. Cars 2 currently at 33% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The original is widely considered their worst film up to now but it's a monster merch seller ($10 billions worth) so you can hardly blame them for making a sequel.

Ah well Brave is out next year and looks awesome.

The animated short before Cars 2 is menna be really good though!

  4. Absolutely brilliant game from Wigan at Saints last night - just destroyed them. Forwards just too strong and the kicking game was fantastic. Was a bit worried going into the second half as Wigan have developed a habit of letting strong leads slip in the second half, but even though Saints got those two tries Wigan remained in control.

Brilliant atmosphere too, had the Dela Cavese going for a good 20 minutes over half time and Kyle Eastmond getting some stick "You can shove your rugby union up your arse" :D

  5. The final try yesterday was right in front of me, which was cool!! Brilliant end to end game, two excellent teams really. But you cannot get any better than a last minute winner vs Saints :D Really glad that Richard's is back - the lack of a kicker hasn't been good for us, and he is a big threat down on the wing.

Great atmosphere too, this is from before kick off in the home end. Looks pretty cool, although the woman in the bottom was the worst flag waver ever!

Cletus - if you do go, one thing you may find a little odd is that away fans are free to sit anywhere they want and are often in the home fans without any bother.

  6. Mad end to the game at St Pauli. With a couple of minutes to go someone threw a plastic glass of beer from the crowd. It hit the linesman, he fell to the ground like Ronaldo. After some faffing around the referee (the German version of Mark Clattenburg) abandoned the game. The officials all left the pitch, leaving the players standing there.

Bad for St Pauli. Now lost 6 in 6 and not looking good at all.

  7. Never thought I'd be writing in here!! but I've just read Blood, Sweat and Tears. To be honest I only downloaded it because it was free but it was good. I liked it that much I paid a whole £1.99 for the second book!

It is really a collection of blog posts of a fella who works for London Ambulance Service and his daily "adventures".

    From amazon:

A beautifully written insight into the stresses, strains and successes of working for the London Ambulance service. Is there anyone who hasn't wondered about the state of the occupant of an ambulance, screaming along with its sirens on and blue lights flashing? Have you? And have you wondered about the other people inside the ambulance, maybe fighting to save the patient's life? Or have you considered that the ambulance may be another 'maternataxi' ordered by a woman who can't be bothered to book a real cab and who then complains she can't smoke on the way to hospital? And that the medical technician inside might just be desperate to get back home from a busy shift, to have a cup of tea and catch up with his blog? Meet Tom Reynolds. Tom is an Emergency Medical Technician who works for the London Ambulance Service in East London. He has kept a blog of his daily working life since 2003 and his award-winning writing is, by turn, moving, cynical, funny, heart-rending and compassionate. It is never less than compelling. From the tragic to the hilarious, from the heartwarming to the terrifying, the stories Tom tells give a fascinating - and at times alarming - picture of life in inner-city Britain, and the people who are paid to mop up after it.

  8. Well an interesting round of games this weekend. Cas unbeaten still and Saints getting beat at "home" again (shame!).

Just got back from Wigan who were pretty lucky for the win but I'll take it! Thought they were poor in the 1st half, especially the kicking game which was well off. Bit better in 2nd half, but then made it difficult for themselves when Joel Tomkins went and got sent off. I didn't see the original incident that caused the first fight, but Tomkins was stupid to go in again straight after.

Strangely though, Wigan looked better with the 12 men and got a try to level it, then a penalty.

  9. Has this been posted?

Surely takes play acting to a new level? hehe

    haha that's funny!

Well before I left for Rovers I thought that just incase it was rubbish I'd record Bayern vs Dortmund. Turned out to be a very good decision.

It was a very good game - Dortmund won 3-1, which I think should see them go onto win the title. Within 20 minutes it was 2-1 to Dortmund - their second one was a lovely goal. Bayern then had a goal disallowed for offside, but it was probably marginally onside.

Dortmund are really good to watch at the moment. The average age of the team is 22 years old and they have some really great young players such as Sahin, Götze and Großkreutz.

  10. On the theme of German football, they have a great football show on Saturday evenings with highlights from the games on that particular day. Can't remember the channel, think it's N1 or something similar. The point is, unlike over here with MOTD, each team seems to have equal coverage and they include a few second and third tier games as well. No bias towards the big clubs like Bayern. Very refreshing.

For people here, the Bundesliga Review on ESPN is pretty good too.

  11. I find that odd too, I always thought the Copa America was never broadcasted that well here. The African competition is crap in comparison to the Asian and South American ones.

Hmm not so sure about that. The bits I've seen of Asian Cup have been awful. Caught about 5 minutes of Qatar vs China, I've seen better down at Coppull United!

The coverage on Eurosport is erratic (as Eurosport tends to be anyway) - I'm sure one game they only showed second half cos cross country skiing was on:D
