    Thats totally unfair.

Rickys point was an extreme case of how the situation isnt as black and white as chaddy portrayed by implying that anything off the pitch is nothing to do with us. If his "private life" involves him doing things that get him in court risking a custodial sentence, and put himself and his club in the negative media spotlight then it becomes very much relevant.

Chaddy then replied by calling Ricky a "clever ass" before then inevitably playing the victim when he got a bit back.

    With good reason IMO

What game you clown! You just made a clear statement that players should be judged on what they do in the shirt and NOTHING else. I’m providing a different viewpoint and making you look silly (again).

So can I confirm that your viewpoint isn’t as stated above and that it’s not just about what the players do in the shirt that counts (as Adam Johnson is a very good player obviously).

You like to throw your opinion out as fact and can’t handle it when someone proves you wrong.

My viewpoint is that players should be judged on the whole package. Missing 3 lots of community service doesn’t send out a great message. I would like to think that Tony has had a word and reminded him that he is our talisman and looked up to by thousands.

Chaddy made as perfectly reasonable point so simply because it's him you took the concept to a ridiculous  level just to have a pop at him.

Do you still go to cricket Al?

Yes not as often as I'd like though. My last match was Headingley v Pakistan with as bunch of Rovers season ticket holders. We do the Headingley match on the Saturday every year. You should join us.

  4. Must admit to having plagiarising this but -

Cook makes 147 in his final innings, Jimmy equals McGrath as the leading fast bowler of all time. Joe Root back to form with a century and super Kohli goes first ball.

Carlsberg don't do cricket but if they did...........

You don't see him on the pitch, that's your whole problem. If you did you would see he's a far better player than you give him credit for.

Is he one of Conning's boys? If so what a great job he's doing with young Ryan. Three cheers for Simon. Hip Hip Hooray....

It is amusing that the posters who appear to single players out for criticism most are so often the ones who never attend and therefore have least grounds to do so.

Whatever anyone thinks of him, he's living in my 'hood nowadays and I saw him walking his dog yesterday.....

He's often in The Alma on a Saturday and I seem to be the only one that's still not had a photo op with him! (He was in the stocks at said pub for a fundraiser in July).

Do you know whereabouts in Bash he lives. I don't use the Alma. Too dear and no atmosphere any more.

Not his decision ultimately. I trust him to say NO, its those muppets above him that I don't.

To be fair, I do not think this will unsettle Dack - he does seem happy here. Just hope his pesky agent doesnt keep on in his ear.

He will be if there's a dollar in it for him.

  8. It's got to be a success because we still have Bradley Dack. Everything else in this window pales into insignificance. Keep telling him he is loved here and give him another pay rise in January if he wants one. If he isn't our highest paid player he should be. Please keep him sweet Tony and let him know he is important to us and to the rest of the players too.

Interesting though that it is only an option and not an obligation to buy in January, which is slightly worry as we are owned by Venkys and in a few months time they could quite easily have changed their minds about spending such a sum of money.

From what I understand they are contracted to buy him as part of his loan deal and they cant say there is no contract. There is obviously an offer, acceptance and consideration so its binding on both parties.

I'm not sure I'd want him permanently. Undoubtedly talented but there is the whiff of the show pony about him and is probably too much of a luxury.

I'd like him. Much needed class and flair. I know some don't like flair but I do.

And what if he can't hack the pressure of the fee and just goes into his shell ? That's happened plenty of times.  Kevin Davies being the classic example. Then we've blown our dosh.

We need a target man because we can't play like we did at Hull every week, I wish we could. Teams will come to Ewood and deny us space for the quicker players to run into.

That's easier said than done. Give me quick flair players every time.

It's hard to say what he will do on Saturday with the injuries sustained last night having an effect. Brentford are flying at the moment and I can see us setting up more defensively with a midfield of Evans, Smallwood, Rothwell and Bennett in there. Reading Tony's comments from last night's game it sounds like we won't be risking Dack and I can see Palmer starting on the bench.

If we don't play Dack and Palmer on Saturday and have no new bodies with attacking flair we will lose. Cast iron certainty. After the injuries last night the lack of class on the team was obvious and if it is not rectified before Saturday there is no chance against Brentford.
