From people I know first hand, an inconclusive test is treated as positive.

That said there seems to still be a concern over false negatives.

That's an odd way to treat a failed test result but maybe it just depends on the situation and who's testing.

We had to do it self testing in the car at a test site and the other half was 95% convinced she'd not got it right on her lad. Was fully expecting a failed test to be recorded but all 3 of ours came back negative.

Presumably the club docs do these but were they back in on Friday last or testing themselves at home before coming in i wonder. Either way it's good so hear he has no symptoms and lets hope he doesn't get any.

Just shows what everyone is up against with this thing there'll be a hell of a lot more examples like this now there's more testing and mingling.

  2. I think the last time there was a downturn over there chicken wise coincided with the taps being turned off. Of course that was put down to FFP, the big sales followed and no real return investment for a while, probably until we went down if i remember right.

I've always been a believer the parent company pays the wages from it's monthly turnover, others disagree but it does tie in with a lot of things. Last time though a few seemed to think some personal money had paid the wages for a spell so fair play if true and that might be the case again. If they are sat on a giant cash personal fortune they'll probably prop up what they have to for a while without it bothering them too much.

Key to it is if they want it back, how quick and how long this lack of real income goes on for.

Mrs works at St Wilfrid's and the area has been going down the pan for the last 10 years. Brothels, drugs, people trafficking and a turf war over car washes and tyre outfits.

A couple of my pals are long serving Police officers in the Blackburn borough and they have a similar take on it over various areas.

But of course the influx of people from different backgrounds and cultures only adds to the problems that were already there.

Hey ho though lets keep the borders wide open, everybody welcome. Every 2 good good doctors and nurses are balanced out by 10 economic scumbags. All contribute to the economy though so it's fine !

So one British sounding name out a multitude of non British sounding names is interesting how exactly ?

Or is this just straw clutching ?

Not quite 50yrs old but we watched Bernard Hopkins (45)  V Roy Jones (41) at Mandalay Bay in 2010, it was hardly a classic...2 old men well past the sell by date.

On the flight back home we got talking to Chris Eubank who was commentating on the fight for ESPN, never being one to hold my tongue I suggested they should never have been in the ring together, it was an awful fight.........I thought he was going to clump me one, thankfully he explained you should never criticise a man that enters the ring and puts his life on the line.....

He had a point and was spot on.

There's also another line that carries perhaps more weight - 'You don't play boxing'

Roy Jones is 51 and isn't long retired they had to virtually beg him to stop after he went to other countries to get licensed. Similar was Holyfield who at 50 was chasing the likes of Klitstchko around for a fight before he was mixing it with the young giants. Both guys and Mike Tyson ended up losing to people they wouldn't even have chosen as sparring partners a few years earlier.

Like football the root of it all is money so to me it's perfectly justified to have a pop at them out of genuine concern alone.  However if they want to damage themselves for a few million dollars when they are already very comfortable and can earn money off their names alone then criticism will be ten fold.

On the subject of Eubank i love the guy but did you read how he talked himself and his son out of a mega money deal with Eddie Hearn ?  Fellas a fruitloop ?

  6. Clubs budgets set in the summer will probably be part used to square off what's left owing from this season. Plus plugging other gaps and paying back extra short term borrowing.

All depends on where Vs stand on this and what shape their spare cash for next season's budget is in.

Would be nice to able to get back the wasted 7 million. That's never happening so more than likely we'll be selling a few of our good young players cheap just to get by. If there's any buyers that is.

  7. Tyson should stay retired even from the exhibition stuff, stick to his cannabis farm. He isn't a tip tap fighter so no way are him and Holyfield going to ponce about and people wouldn't want to see that it's pointless.

I don't think he's any intention to be honest as he's become a good self publicist so he'll be making a few dollars out of all this somehow.

Trouble is as the past tells us he's very easily distracted by unscrupulous promoters and big money.

  8. Same in Chorley they've popped up all over in the last few years yet you rarely see anyone in them when driving past. Must charge a lot for a crop to be able to survive.

Maybe if they are claiming Govt help now in the lockdown it would be a good time to look at their books and see how they arrive at the figures they are claiming ?

  9. Hang the bastards no ifs buts maybe's we didn't mean its. Still cold blooded murder and there is no reason nor excuse.

Looks like the world has lost another one who was trying to make a positive contribution to society.

    RIP Aya.

    Hang the bastards.

    ‘Class’?

He’ll be 33 by next season and he’s spent his English career at Harrogate, Burton, Bradford and third division Sunderland.

Looks like the expectations of Sunderland fans have fallen even more than ours.

It's amazing how different it looks when you look past hyperbole and put some actual meat on the bones. Coming to Rovers and hopefully upper end Championship football week in week out is a big step up at the later end of his career.

Underwhelming it has to be said, there must be something a bit better out there with a bit more potential for a decent number of years in them. Changing keeper ever year or two just like changing centre backs every season isn't the way to build a team with promotion as the ultimate aim.

Trying to keep the likes of Walton makes more sense.

Sure I read that it isn’t a legal requirement to socially distance, nothing in the new legislation that can enforce a two metre gap.

The magistrates courts up and down the country will end up busier than usual when they finally resume.

Plenty on threatening/abusive behaviour and assault no doubt.

  12. Good signing on paper and he still knew were the net was but his legs were gone gone gone from what i remember he really struggled to run around. Still some good touches though but spent lot of time on his arse taking 5 mins to get up again ?

Mind you he still had more about him than Mick Duxbury !

  13. It's quite simple for me really Hodgson liked to over complicate things but didn't get the right people in to do the basics first. Ended up with a squad with cheap rubbish filling the gaps, big money wasted in areas that matter and inbetween still some good solid Prem players who struggled with his continental methods.

I think him not knowing the British market and expecting Prem players to be able to conform to his way in a short space of time was the main problem. It's a shame because there was periods it looked like we might be onto something with him but in the end he made a right dogs dinner of the squad.

  14. Key to all this is how the banks handle clubs overdrafts and borrowings as in time big money will come flowing back in inevitably. There'll be a lot of Dubai / Brunei based football investment vehicles fielding a lot of long term borrowing enquiries.

There'll be a few of those about to go tits up as well.

It was always inevitable that some players would test positive. Already a game called off in Bundesliga 2 and surely some serious jeapordy as to whether the leagues can restart.

Which just makes it even more of a potential farce over here as soon as it gets going it might have to be pulled again. Utterly pointless even thinking about finishing it. Something tells me this Govt wants the revenue stream soon as though so they'll sit back and let the farce unfold no doubt.

  16. Maybe start next season as usual whether behind closed doors or not with teams on the points and standings as they are now. A 'long season' if you like. Be crazy points totals but it can't be argued everyone doesn't have a fair chance again of sealing their fates.

Might actually be the fairest solution, the 2019/2021 season !
