Sounds like Forest have a lot missing due to COVID. Hadn’t heard anything about that but doesn’t sound like they have a fit RB and a very weak bench.

Thats the cue for us to lose.

(actually ignore that, it appears that the commentators were talking about Notts County)

Forest have a very strong team out. Lolley, Ameobi, Freeman, Grabban all playing.

My Leeds supporting mate reckons we have just signed the best left back in the Championship. High praise indeed, but then he does support Leeds so hard to trust his judgement!

Maybe at his age he's not at his peak anymore, but he is basically as good as we could hope for at LB in the Championship. Better than Cunningham IMO.

I think our team looks so good right now, and would be even better if we were to bring in Pears and Trybull as well. My only worry is the injury-proneness of a lot of our players and the impact that could have on our season. Other than that, we are promotion contenders and I am gearing up for an exciting season!

  3. Still buzzing after the win last night, but looking back with a critical eye I think there are still concerns in both full back areas.

Nyambe was quite poor when he came on. His positioning was awful and he got caught out several times at the back. Bell had one of his better games, but there was 1 or 2 moments he got beat too easily by his man. With JRC injured, we lack depth at both LB and RB. Bennett is also not good enough as a full back and I get the feeling that Mowbray will look to play him in the middle this season if he’s needed.

More depth needed and I hope we do sign at least one full back before the window shuts.

  4. Amazing game and result. I'm sure I've said this many times before, but I really love this current Rovers team and hope we can go all the way this season finally. Everyone associated with the club in the past couple of seasons deserves it.

We're getting these results without 2 of our 3 top scorers last season (Dack and Gallagher). What a team!

The team of the week is based on just data, right? So whilst that's nice, I don't really care as I watched the game, and whilst I'm not saying he was awful, he wasn't 'let's keep our best right back out of the side' good. His delivery was worse than I've come to expect from him, and wasn't great in the game before that. When you win 5 nil against a poor team it's not as amazing to rack up good stats.

If we win this emphatically it won't matter who is at RB today, but looking forward it worries me he made this call. If we sell Nyambe for a Raya style pittance I'll be furious.

All I'm saying is it's not a ludicrous decision to keep JRC at RB again this week. It would have been a really difficult decision to make and in the end it's not proven to be a disaster.

Personally I don't really rate JRC as a full back, and I think he has struggled a bit today. He offers more than Nyambe in terms of creativity and creating scoring opportunities, but Nyambe is superior in terms of pace and defensive ability.

  6. JRC has done pretty well at RB, but he lacks pace and has had to make up for it with some well timed tackles. I wouldn't be against Nyambe coming on in the second half with fresh legs to make sure they don't get back into the game.

Kaminski has been solid so far, but he has a habit of saving the ball into the path of opposition players, which is a bit of a worry.
