When you've watched the Rovers in shit holes like Tranmere, Halifax, Chesterfield and Mansfield in the old Third Division on cold Friday nights / Saturday afternoons then you have earned your colours.

    Disagree with this mentality.

Ie: I'm older than you, so I'm a superior supporter.

It's obviously bollocks. I didn't choose when to be born, so the early 90's is the furthest back I go.
That doesn't make me any less of a supporter than someone who happened to be born earlier than me.

Some might think it is being dewy eyed about JDT etc, but he's the best person to walk through the door under Venkys reign.

Articulate, charismatic, honest, intelligent, ambitious, respectful. Eustice is a major downgrade. At best he might reach Mowbray levels of being able to get us plodding on, but we've gone from a man doing all he could to raise the standards and expectations at Rovers to a bloke grateful to have a job.

Another downgrade, another watering down of the standards of our great club.

    #Venkysout

    #Waggottout

Well worded and sums up how I feel.

Best will in the world, Eustace is another middle of the road plodder; another Mowbray.

JDT (to me) represented a chance to do something different. A proper style of play / identity.
Some ambition, some optimism that he might drag the club - kicking and screaming - to an upwards trajectory.

But now he's gone, the best I can feel about the club is ambivalent. When Preston's goals went in today, it barely registered with me.
That situation is usually a gut punch, but now it's just...meh.

Jake Garrett is absolutely appalling and I hope he never wears our shirt again. There’s no talent in there waiting to come out either he’s just fucking useless.

    I think that's a bit harsh.

He was terrible today, but he has had some good performances further up the pitch this season, most recently away at WBA.

I think there's more of a player there than the likes of Lowe and Travis, to be fair.

Can someone explain how Silvester and Waggott remain in position?

I'm hoping that at least one of them are currently working their notices, departure timed with GB's intention to speak to the media.

Based on nothing other than my hope, but surely the Club Secretary's role is untenable after 3 massive cock-ups.
Last year's in particular likely cost us a top 6 place minimum.

    Gross (repeat) incompetence.

  5. I do recall Trav having a very good spell after coming back into the side last season, playing a bit further up the pitch.
QPR away (with that wonder assist) was one of those games.

He is technically limited and isn't as good as a '4' as Trondstad is, but I'd keep him around next season as a squad player.

Does seem to be a Eustace-type player and can cover fullback as well.

Imagine if the owners hadn't put a stop to the Danny Batth transfer in summer. We might not have been so shit at the back all year.

This is a fair point - JDT wanted that experienced Batth/McFadzean type at the back and had been very vocal about it.

As much as I enjoyed the win today, you still know what lies ahead for us, as long as the Raos are involved.

Will give some (more) credit to Pears, thought he was generally good and the penalty save was excellent.
He's come back from injury looking a lot better than before it.

I think we all deserve a strong drink after the past few weeks.

    Cheers!

It's times like this that I wish I was a drinker.

Eustace is probably about as good as we were realistically ever getting (presuming Big Sam was never happening), but I can't help feeling that it's just...same shit, same outcome, different day.

For his faults, JDT had that sprinkle of something special about him - and that's what gave me hope.

And the club are clearly trying to distract us from whatever shenanigans went down on deadline day.
Make no mistake, that was 100% not an admin error/oversight. Not 3 times in 12 months. Not a single chance.

Andy, genuine question? Who would you be happy with? I understand the possible risks with Eustace but I can’t see anyone else (more qualified) to want to come to Ewood.

I think Eustace is about as good as we can expect - though I would prefer someone like Neil, or even Hughes over him.

All are shite, but I'd rather take shite with some proven experience over a prolonged period.

Once again, Warnock would have been the ideal name, had he not just headed north.

Why??  The guy who got us promoted from League One straight away wasn't a good appointment all of a sudden? Him who gave the club a lot of heart, signed some very capable players who, had we not let them run their contracts down, would've generated millions (yes...and some crap!) but levelled off.

It blows my mind how blinkered or distracted fans are on here that they can't see that JDT isn't actually doing a great job...yet he is some sort of God/mmartyr purely because he has a whinge about the absolute numpties above him.

Sorry, only read the last few lines.

Whilst not a single fan sees JDT as a 'God/martyr', most recognise that he's done a good job with a crap squad and no backing.

TM also did a good job, agreed. It's not a competition between the two - they both did well for us.

The worry should be who is about to replace JDT, because it sure as hell won't be anyone of his calibre.
