Jackson in LT saying McLaughin in Turkey at Hull training camp but would be allowed to leave IF fee agreed with Hull - how long does it take to agree a fee for a club in Hull's position with only 12 months remaining on the lad's contract!?!?

Also, stated Carter missing from Wednesday's training video indicating injury could be worse than first feared.

So our c/b's are Hyam and Wharton (who can't be anywhere near ready for 90 minutes in the Championship) with only rookies in reserve.

Probably about the same time it takes a club to agree a fee for Callum Brittain, who only has 12 months left on his contract and is currently at a cash strapped Rovers, in fairness.

You can tell from the signings (and near signing) he wants athletes.ย

You'd think Pickering has one foot out of the door if anyone offers anything for him. Ismael won't want to watch Harry trundle up and down the wing.

From the horses mouth, no less.

Rovers will target younger, athletic players, who can fit the style of play the head coach wants to implement.

"I think you see clearly now on the transfer market, we are in the transition," Ismael explained.

"We spoke after the last game in the season, we wanted to keep that stability in the squad to try to extend the players. We made offers but they chose another way.ย

"So now, our strategy is to go into the transition. We didn't expect to have that this summer but now it's time.

"We want to reduce of our players, we have a clear profile of player that we want. Young, very athletic, players who are very able to give us that intensity. Technically as well, to give us possibilities with the ball.

"At some point, it's ok to say, what shall we do now? Should we be chasing (contracts) or are we going to start with a transition period?

"That means new players in, new profiles of players. They need more time to adapt so the fans can enjoy the new players, our new signings. It takes time.

"We are choosing to be proactive. We are in a transition period, clearly. We know that until September 1, anything can happen due to the contract situation of some of our players."

They are also well aware of the risks they are now running with this model and don't seem to care, so it does raise questions about how long the so called desire to remain at Championship level will last.

Definitely a dangerous game they are playing.ย

Shipping out plenty of championship experience in favour of unknown players from abroad, could end spectacularly badly this season.

I suspect that Baradji was to be signed as a Travis replacement, much like Alebiosu has been signed to replace Brittain.

    Traveres is Tronstad's replacement.

    Yep, agreed.ย

The manager has now admitted we are in a transitional phase, which we were not planning on being in.ย

I think the indications from Brittain's, Tronstad's & Travis' camp have been, we are not signing new deals. So we're now looking to move all of them on and replace with cheaper, younger alternatives.ย

Recent post from the rovers account priming us for the fact that CB's replacement is already here.

Was just about to post the same thing. Interesting quotes from the article:

ย โ€œI think you can see clearly in the transfer market, we are in a transition. We didnโ€™t expect to do that this summer, but now itโ€™s time."

So, we have already changed this summers plan and are now, apparently, in a transition period.

    Quote

ย โ€œSo we are reducing the (average) age of the player. We have a clear profile of player we want โ€“ young, very athletic, very able to get that intensity and technically to be able to give us some possibility with the ball."

We want to reduce the average age of the squad.

Batth and Weimann were probably never really staying, especially as we re-signed Forshaw, if we are looking at younger players.

Tronstad turns 30 next month, so I suspect there is little appetite from the club to sign him back up.

As Brittain is on his way out (27) and replaced with a 23 year old, I suspect that the club are in no rush to sign Travis (27, 28 later this year) up either.

Before his loan move to Ipswich, if I remember rightly, there were rumours that he fell out with the manager.

I have no idea what went on but in the end Travis didnโ€™t make the cut at Ipswich and all was forgiven, it seems, when he came back.

Is that holding the club to ransom? I thought he was told he wouldn't get as much game time as he was hoping for, had an opportunity to go on loan and took it?ย

Don't tell me that the club weren't happy to offload his wages for 6 months.

Agree, Travis, in particular has held the club to ransom way too often now. Get what we can for him and letโ€™s add some pace and power in that midfield.

When has Trav held the club to ransom?

So, out of players we have signed/been strongly linked to over the course of the window so far (not sure if I have missed any): -ย

    • Steve Kapaudi - No dealย
    • Marwan Al-Sahafi - No deal
    • Ryan Alebiosu - Deal
    • Sidnei Tavares - Deal
    • Dion De Neve - Deal
    • Moussa Baradji - No deal
    • Ethan Pye - No deal
    • Cody Drameh - No deal
    • Sean McLoughlin (I am regurgitating an old name here, I can't remember the name of who it wasย but sure it was another Hull player)ย - No deal

Prior to pre season starting, we'd reached 33% so already failed that expectation to Valย ๐Ÿคฃ

We were "in talks" with Ajax about Sivert Mannsverk about a week ago as well.

Completely agree, but of all the scenario's that could happen, this one has zero chance.

Brittains replacement is already here, and there isn't a chance on earth that we could get Gassama under this regime.

Correct. We won't be bringing in anyone else to play RB.ย

I don't see how we even could do, the budget is set, none of the money received for CB will be reinvested. We haven't budgeted for a new first choice RB.

Suspect, Alebiosu, Duru and Mongomery will be our right backs for the season. Carter at a push to play there if needed/injuries etc. allow for it.

Montgomery look very good in the way he got high up the pitch and gave us the width wide right, similar to Brittain like. I would still like another right back bringing in like Cody Drameh with Championship experience and I would move him to midfield where he can be the box to box midfielder

I thought his interview was very clear and straight to the point. Sounds like he wants Travis, Tronstad and Hyam contracts sorting out quick. He is right by the way.ย

Heโ€™s already said previously that he wants to keep Brittain, Hyam, Travis, ย Tronstad, Hedges, Dolan, Weimann, Batth and Forshaw.

how many of those is actually going to keep? Hyam, Forshaw and Hedges, probably.ย

3 have already gone, 1 more in the next couple of days and there are more rumours of Trav and Tronstad leaving than staying.
