The parachute payments were introduced to allow clubs to offset the cost of being relegated. FFP was introduced to stop teams spending beyond their means. Both systems have failed. Numerous clubs that have been promoted would have failed FFP had they not been promoted. Parachute payments should be restricted to one year to stop clubs using it as a springboard. It's not Burnley's fault for taking advantage of the current system

I saw some stats on TV yesterday showing that Rovers have the most transitions against in the Championship.
It was, I think, 245 pre yesterdays game andั่ the next was under 200.
I don't know who produces those stats or website that shows them.
I was watching Sky Football channel.
If our transitions into attack improve that's progress.
That stat is pretty horrendous for us. It is the amount of times we lose possession when playing out from the back. We are the worst in the league by some distance

It’s official, the winner of the El Lanclassico will be top of the league going into the WC break. What a massive game that is on Sunday, I won’t be sleeping till then that’s for sure. Bring em on!!
Whatever the result one of us will be top, even a draw is enough for them

I've just watched the highlights on Sky and my God do they do us a favour. How f***ing pitiful was our defending for their goal? From powder puff defending on the edge of our own box to the shocking attempts by Brittain, Hyam and Ayala to defend in our own six yard box.
Including the keeper we had 10 players in the box and not one tracks the run of the scorer

On the bright side it's only 3 weeks until I have to watch England play this shite brand of football

Jdt will say the players decision making was poor. A quick look in the mirror Mr Tomasson

79 mins before JDT changed that shocking formation. I think he overthinks this league. Mowbray did the same. Play your best available players in their best positions and we win that.

The EFL have to share the blame too. They scheduled lots of long trips for all fans on both Boxing Day and New Years Day. Sky just chose which ones would have to suffer most.

Dreadful game. Toothless Burnley against a Norwich team that didn't turn up to play.

Fair play to the QPR manager/coach. There's not much loyalty or integrity in football these days so it's unusual to see someone turn down the chance to manage in the Premier League at a bigger club when it is offered.
He's obviously got QPR playing well and at the top of the league and his staying there will give them a big boost and doesn't help us or any of the other promotion-chasing teams
Maybe he just can't speak Portuguese

Even after multiple slo-mo’s from different angles, I wasn’t entirely sure if he’d made contact with the ball, made contact with the player, or the player made too much of it. Shouldn’t be giving penalties when it’s absolutely not clear in real time what happened.
Because the ball changed direction 99% of refs wouldn't have given a pen.
If the second goal is offside then surely that is also a pen as the Sunderland player pushes Wharton offside

You could have Robertson in front of Pickering and the outcome would be the same. He's not up to it end of story. Brittain has never been destroyed in his time at Ewood. In the same period HP has been multiple times. It shouldn't even be up for debate anymore. We were lucky second half and most of the danger came down the left. It's far to easy to beat HP, not even a contest at times, you sometimes see his man 4-5 yards ahead of him after dropping his shoulder. He doesn't sense danger, he seems oblivious to overlaps and constantly watches the ball. Nothing personal but it's our weakest position.
As you have identified it as our weakest position, you have to wonder why he wasn't given any help when they brought on a player that kept Jed Spence out of their team

Szmodics won more tackles in 15 minutes than Pickering did all game.
Szmodics is defending in front of Brittain. Who's defending in front of Pickering?

I wonder if Everton will be thinking "Why didn't we cough up for Diaz" when they get relegated.

There’s a few tiers. Normal membership called the traditional membership which gets you into any day plus any format. That’s £150 ish. There’s also first xi membership for about £100 which gets you in to about 10 different days of any format. Then a t20 membership for about £50-80 ish.
I saw that but thought it seemed too cheap and was like a half season ticket. Might have to get one next season
