Just so I’m sure I’ve understood this correctly - is there a suggestion here that fans could crowd fund roughly £100 per seat to install safe standing at Ewood, despite our owners being billionaires (and investment in the stadium being exempt from FFP) and our CEO being on 300K / year?

It’s been suggested as a possibility and we’ve been asked to gauge the reaction to it. I’ve made my personal reaction to it pretty clear in my response.

Something else I’m also personally pretty keen on is not just converting already occupied seats to safe standing ones. If they are already occupied the only purpose it will serve is to appease the safety advisory group, whereas I’d like to see safe standing used as a way to attract new or lapsed fans too, so finding areas which aren’t overly full currently.

I like this a lot - me and my little lads will be there, 100%.

I really liked the activities and the 'outside of the ground' stuff at the Girona match, really felt like a proper effort and atmosphere.

Would be great to get above 20k.

We’ll be doing something similar again this time. Got a few little freebies for the kids and the grown ups so get down early!

W8 d1 L8 ought to not be a cause for optimism but the way JDT has this squad set up, we have every right to feel we are on the up.

It’s gone a little bit under the radar that we are almost as averse to draws as we were for the first half of last season. Last year we seemed to gel a bit more after the World Cup break and cut out some silly errors and despite the drop off in points we were more consistent.

Now the likes of Tronstad and Hill are integral parts of the team we look better organised. With a bit of overdue luck on the injury front and/or a couple of additions even on loan in January we definitely shouldn’t be seeing the playoffs as beyond us.

  4. We executed the game plan very well today. Should’ve been a couple in front at half time so it was nice to improve the goal difference late on. Feared the worst when Carter went down and hope he isn’t back on the injured list. I wasn’t convinced with Travis coming on when Scotty got injured, but it was definitely the right call by JDT.

Cracking result, and West Ham make it a brilliant day!

Can't enlarge it (matron) .... what does it say exactly. Where is the £11m from and where is it going? Have the financial restraints now eased?

Cash flow has certainly been eased, and immediate liabilities dealt with. Restrictions still exist while Venky’s remain under investigation.

We will be able to function and pay wages for now, and we will probably open the Blackburn End if we get a home draw in the FA Cup. They may have to do the same again in the not too distant future(although with one high court judgement I’d expect it to be an easier process going forward). Don’t expect any transfer warchest come January, but at least we won’t have to flog Wharton on the cheap to keep the lights on.

  6. Can’t have too many complaints at the result. We should’ve had one, possibly 2 penalties, however the ref missed a blatant early one for them when Travis flew in after Sterling got away from Brittain.

Wahlstedt is now a definite concern. That limp slap for the first goal was a joke and would’ve been embarrassing for a kid playing in the park with their mates. His concentration seems to be really lacking and he often looks panicked. I didn’t have a good view at all of the second from in the ground, and I’ve watched it back on the highlights. It looks to me like Carter has pulled up, and someone is screaming “Leo, Leo, Leo”, but he seems oblivious and throws a silly ball out to Brittain whose pass was pathetic.

Pickering put in an honest performance but was absolutely brutalised due to his lack of pace. I’m pleasantly surprised he wasn’t sent off - which would’ve been an injustice as his early yellow was very soft. Britain’s performance was less honest and he hid sometimes. He’s so much more comfortable further up the pitch, out wide, with time and space. The ball becomes a hot potato when he’s under pressure. Travis got better when he realised throwing himself on the floor was less effective than trying to actually keep hold of the ball. Moran showed glimpses, Markanday ineffective and makes questionable decisions.

Hill, Carter and Adam Wharton were the big positives and didn’t look at all out of place. Once again Leonard has to be hitting the target with that chance where he got through. Would’ve been nice for the fans for Sigurdsson to score late on - that ball from Garrett was the best bit of play all game.

The big difference was our lack and their abundance of physicality. They were bigger, quicker and stronger all over the park.

Asked for an update and got nothing too

We met with Waggott specifically on this, short news is nothing to report.

Waggott found out about the asset seizures in the same way everyone else did. From his point of view the situation hasn’t progressed since he last gave an update. The funds from India are still on hold, Venkys are telling him they are working hard to remedy the situation and remain committed. As a director he needs to be assured that there is nothing problematic in the accounts or that would come out in an audit, and he’s happy that’s the case. The issue is cash flow, that’s the reason for the BBE closure in the last league cup game, things are tight. Venky’s told him “not yet” in terms of a statement - so I doubt we will get one unless there is a change for the better.

Personally I’m very concerned about January because if the tap isn’t turned on by then it’s going to mean sales.
