Tugay wasn't a complete waster though....
We didnt know that before we signed him and his age, tin pot league etc was questioned on here
Signing players is hit and miss.

Just no - no more players in the twilight of their careers looking for a final contract to get rich off.
Murphy, Etuhu, Whittingham - which of these were a success?

...and Rovers bought the league...at least we didn't break any rules along the way.

I was at the Gigg Lane game. Happy days, we never looked like not winning. By some quirk we played Bury at home on the following Saturday for the last game of the season. We played like we'd been on the p--s all week ( which we probably had ) and lost 2-1. Steve Johnson getting two great goals for Bury.
The Ewood pitch centre area was like a sandy desert and it was a blustery day. The referee must have stopped play half a dozen times to whip out his hanky to remove grit from players eyes. It's funny what you remember about games but I've never seen a game stopped like that so often before or since.
My first ever Rovers game. Good memories, thanks.

Amazed at how poorly prepared we looked considering the first 15 mins. Truly diabolical stuff.
If the tactics are to roll the ball 10 yards to the winger from a free kick in the full back position, only for it to be rolled back to the player who took the free kick, who had been closed down by then. 20 secs later the ball is in the back of our net.
What have you been doing in training all week Tony? Surely coaching the basics are part of your job?

RIP Tashor - you were one of my favourite posters and will be sadly missed. Condolences to your family.

How many basketball passes can you count...
You'll either be gobsmacked by this if it works on you, or just shrug your shoulders and think think "that was a bit rubbish" if it doesn't.
Anyway, the interesting bit is about 2 min 45 into the lecture if you want to fast forward - although the chap is quite a good speaker if you are interested in such things....

3 and 3 is my choice.
Home shirt choice 2 sets a bad precedent for me - red swirly bits on the front. Don't mess with the blue and white halves!

There are 50 films hidden in the picture. 26 so far.....

Anyone read the Admiral's description of his recent operation in the matchday magazine? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I've had to sit on an extra cushion in sympathy ever since...............................
He went into graphic detail didn't he. Made me feel queasy eating my HT pie!
Did you notice that he said he thought Christmas was being optimistic, but something to aim for

What a happy lot you are.
We've drawn a top club at home in the cup. Rejoice.

Nothing to do with this thread (sorry) but I have to say to Burleyblue (phew! got it right) you need to be careful coming on here with a pseudonym like that. There are many who will get the wrong impression!!
Blinkin heck, do you know it's never occurred to me until you pointed it out! My avatar even has a Claret and Blue look about it as well
Off to find a new avatar... changing name may be more difficult.

I have the high-lights of the game at home and they are also on Youtube, It looked like a def pen to me,Your player slid in for behind on our player in the box.
Not watched it again, don't think I can bear to. One thing to remember is that the tackle from behind was judged very differently to the way it is judged today by refs.

Scotty - your post really brought it all back to me - I think I had mentally blocked it out.
Awful memories walking back to the car with my Dad, palace fans gloating every step of the way. Not just run of the mill banter either.
Easily my worst day supporting Rovers - I dont think anything will ever come close.
Garner tells a story how Ian Wright had some kind words after the game so at least one person on the Palace side had some class in victory. Shame a good proportion of the fans didnt.
I remember the ball being prevented from going out of play by the wall of fans standing at the side. Scandalous set of circumstances that should never have been allowed to develop for a game of that stature, or indeed any stature.
Ooh, it's all coming out. I could go on for hours but I'll stop now.

Very much the same logic used for Sudoku puzzles.. well it can be attacked in the same manner.
Defineatly not a '2% of the pop' puzzle.
I totally agree......

Only 2% of the worlds population are supposed to be able to solve this problem (according to Einstein who set it).

If you use firefox as your browser, I can highly recommend the "StumbleUpon" extension for finding really interesting stuff on the web that you wouldn't otherwise find.
It allows you to specify a range on interests, you then click on the "Stumble" button and it randomly takes you to a website. If you like it, click on a button and it saves the link against your account (so you can easily find it later).
Stumble also allows you to see the stumbles of other users that like the same sites that you like.
Certainly worth a look.
Thursday deadline.

I agree with all that except for the bit about less chance of getting it wrong when you are in the prem.
