If we need to grow matchday revenue, then we need to think of things to entice the fans, rather than put up obstacles....

(match day surcharge, ticket price vs SWFC, price of pies/booze, I could go on).

The pathetic service at the food bars could be improved for a start. Pull a load of pints so they are ready to sell at half time. They couldn’t even sell me a beer i wanted to purchase at the last home game. I keep being told that football is a business but we can’t even get the fundamentals right. Shambolic.

It did cross our minds that we might have had a transfer fee to come in for him. He’s going nowhere now. Personally I would not be looking to go in for a Dack replacement. I think we have enough. As @chaddyrovers said earlier we need a new gk, lb and cb.

I’d go for their left back - Robinson? - don’t know much about him but he was the best player on the pitch. Is he young?

I thought the Qataris emerged after Venkys bought the club ?

As for the Australian was that the character called Dan something where it was never clear whether there were actually funds in place ?

I agree with you that the debt is now effectively irrelevant. It is now so large that there is no prospect of it being paid off by the club's operations so it only comes in to play on a sale

A disgraceful state of affairs. Shameful way to run a club.

Jesus fecking Christ. We’re now left with one of the worst left backs I’ve ever laid eyes on. Dack aside, probably the worst player this could have happened to given our lack of depth in this position.

I’m hoping that Tony’s ar*e hole is doing some serious worrying right now.

Nah, he's now got a ready made excuse. Injuries blah blah.

I have had some involvement with DJ in the past and in my opinion, his downfall regarding being a manager is that he is not a people person. I think he would struggle to make the step up from coach but would be happy to be proved wrong.

Interesting and thanks for the heads up.

If he’s any good he will realise this and get an assistant that fills the gaps. The complete manager is pretty rare, not just in football but all walks of life.

Not so easy though when they are sitting on the nice contracts Tony gave them.  Catch 22 they won't go early unless something good comes in or they're paid off.  Having them around there's always the feeling he'll start using them again to justify it.

If he can keep adding a bit of quality along the way like Holtby then next summer becomes as much about clearing out as recruiting.

Agreed. Giving Evans in particular a new contract after most of his performances in League 1 was unbelieveable. He's a reserve in a lower half championship squad and so it has proved to be the case since we re-signed him. You get what you pay for.

Agree that clubs bailing out other clubs sets a dangerous precedent and probably also why the authorities are reluctant as football being football and full of the chancers it is the piss will start to be took before long.  If there are handouts of any kind on offer suddenly there are plenty of hands wanting to grab a piece and not all very genuine.

Having said that 2 million in the wider football community is a morsel and if this was West Ham or someone of that ilk someone would slap the money down even just for the publicity of a good deed.

Think you've got to look at Neville, Scholes and crews like that pouring money into essentially starting new clubs and looking to SKY on the back of their profiles and influence to back it to the hilt with live games.  Perhaps the likes of them should look closer to home and get involved in ready made historical clubs like Bury etc.

Agree with all that except for the word perhaps.

Mulgrew's exit, although cheered on by some here could have a real impact on squad morale, as Glenn suggests above.  Mulgrew has been a key fixture in the squad for three years and his leaving under these circumstances is worrying.

We also have to find 10/12 goals per season from somewhere else to compensate.
