  1. I'd say given his age, and the market at the time (the bubble hadn't quite burst yet) I'd say what we paid for him was about fair. He is turning into one hell of a player, and certainly will be a great asset to the club if he stays here for a few years. I'm also very excited by the prospect of a Ferguson/Savage combination. Not only would it provide defensive solidity but also offers great creativity and attacking threats.
  2. Good win and results went our way today as well by the looks of it. No one below us won, and at the same time there are a few teams above us who didn't pick up wins. Get a good run now and we really have a chance of moving away from the bottom three.
  3. And with the death total estimated to be around 40,000, that is an absolutely staggering number.
  4. Fulham are back on level terms and City have taken the lead, both I think suit us.
  5. Birmingham take the lead at fulham
  6. Is anyone in the chat room?
  7. West Brom just had a player sent off against City, so now they are really in trouble.
  8. if it's saying error does that mean it won't work at all? or just that it's too full right now? Loads for about a minute then comes up and says a general error has occured, that the usual thing?
  9. Yeah 7 is the only one that starts to load...then it says there is an error
  10. I can't get it to work...any tips?
  11. Dickov smashes in a cracker 1508: GOAL Bolton 0-1 Blackburn Paul Dickov smashes in an unstoppable volley from 25 yards after Jay Bothroyd chests the ball down.
  12. give us the link then we'll believe you
  13. Where is this? video or audio? its video, you can get every most premiership games every saturday, not just the main one on motd, it amazing what you can do with access to tinternet!! Whats the website where you can watch the rovers game.
  14. Where is this? on tinternet duuurrrr looks like the geordies know everything the website i mean
  15. This year it would, no doubt. I still say it wasn't in the players he let go that Souness let himself down, it was the players he brought in.
  16. I didnt say I thought it would happen, I'm just saying, I wouldn't sell for less. I would be surprised if we let him go for 7 million, we aren't a selling club, he is our best player, why would we? We aren't in a financial situation where we have to sell, he seems happy here, likes the new manager, is playing well, the team is finally on the up. The very top teams aren't going to be coming in for him, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United, and those are probably the only ones who could tempt him away, and who have enough money to convince the board that it is worth it. He already said he was glad Souness was gone, and that he was happier with Hughes, so I don't think a move to Newcastle is on the cards. Other than that the only interested party is Rangers, I really don't see him moving back there. He's won everything he can in Scotland, if he left in the first place then it is obvious that he is tired of the same old things. As for creating chances for our strikers, recently we have been, so any striker interested in joining us should expect to get some good chances.
  17. We would be hard pushed to replace Bazza, it isn't easy buying premiership quality players nowadays. Getting that sort of money would be taking the massive risk that you would not only be able to replace him, but then find someone to play alongside, and then hope that two new players work with the team. He's the kind of player who could be the heart of the team for years, a great player, it would be daft to sell him unless the sum was ridiculous, and by that I mean 15-20+ million.
  18. Rovers 3-1 Bolton Hopefully
  19. With all those players at their prime that would be one hell of a team, but I think most of them we got rid of at the right time, other maybe Dunn, Sukur and Berg.
  20. Bent on current form would make our team, but then we sold him to bring in Cole, overall that worked for us I would say. Without that deal we would probably be a division lower and not have won a cup. Johnson I still don't think would make our team, especially now that we have Reid, Emerton and Thompson. Yes he's a decent premiership player, but he hasn't exactly taken it by storm.
  21. I think most should be able to realise that very improvement from their own confidence going into games. I don't mean we are by any means Chelsea or Arsenal, but surely all of us felt better about facing Newcastle this time, where many of us expected a win, to earlier in this season, when I think we basically all knew we were dead ducks. We are on the road to recovery, and in terms of having actual success, albeit as much success as any midtable club can have, I think we all have to accept that, that will happen in a year or two's time if we stick by the current management. For now this improvement makes me feel confident that we won't be relegated, and that we may even scrape into the top half and finish somewhere from 8-14. Things could be a lot worse...we could be Newcastle supporters
