Meanwhile, Hughes reckons his outburst was down to "the fact we had recent history against the teams he mentioned and it was fresh in his mind and he was giving examples". In other words, Hughes reckons he was right about what he said, but maybe should have said it differently. Murphy and Hughes.

"I don't know where Danny's comments have come from or why he has chosen to do that. His manager Mark Hughes, for instance, had a Blackburn team that was very competitive.
