Summary—-we’ve shown some great approach work, got ourselves into promising positions but have no physicality upfront. Dolan as ineffective as I’ve ever seen him, Hedges ordinary, Leonard anonymous.
Travis flirting with a yellow or worse.
Where’s a goal going to come from?
You've nailed it there.
Some good intentions, but failure to deliver. The lack of edge in the final third is telling. It is hard to be a Dolan fan on days like these, I have to admit. Really want him to come good as I admire his energy.
Hedges is a game lad, and I appreciate that he tries to spread play, or do something a little bit clever, but he ought to be an auxiliary option rather than the creative focal point.
Harry Leonard - well - we all have big dreams for the chap, but he's been out of it for most of today thus far.
As for the Wharton discussion. Player like him - ya simply have to live with his misplaced passes. Some of them will be his fault, but I reckon a fair amount will be down his speed of thought trumping that of his colleagues. I think he's potentially a very special player. Certainly among the best we have, for definite.
Hard to know what can be done to change things in the second half. I fear we don't have the personnel currently to implement major changes in approach.
Love to be proven wrong, of course.

Yeah but you were offside Axe, three Downs in a row 😉😂

Ah chief, all the years we've all been brainfarting in this thread - I never even knew that was a rule! I'm an 'instinctual player' 😅

Remember when Benni McCarthy nicked an open-goal tap in from Jason Roberts? (v Wigan, I think, open to correction). Anyhow, that's what I just did to @oldjamfan1

But most of all we need some big guys, who don’t get easily bullied
Couldn't agree more. I feel as if that has been the case for quite some time.
Yeah, the lack of fellas who can stand up to it and give it back when it gets a bit physical is telling.
Just a sprinkling of physically tougher, aggressive type of players throughout the side would make a noticeable improvement I reckon. Especially when ya look back at a game like this one.

Honestly I thought it was a pretty easy feed for Cyndi Lauper or the Beach Boys or Duran Duran or Beyonce or Motley Crue or or or or....

Lads - we don't know each other or even a whole lot about each other but we're all here aren't we, so we have that much in common. Best of luck to both of you. 💪

Very late here, but managed to capture Ennis’ 2-2 goal. Apologies for the bad quality!
Thanks for doing that, chief. Tidy finish from the chap. Excited to see what he can bring to the table.

We used to go to Ireland regularly to see the in laws. My kids would all get up and leave the room, as soon as one of the relatives asked me about Rovers.
Think Michael Douglas in Falling Down!
Possibly not the time, but this made me laugh. Cheers!

On Dack, has he ever looked like he's a bundle of energy? I would say not, BUT he's an intelligent player and can pick the right passes and pop up in the right place to score, much like he did on Tuesday.
Right. And how we've needed someone to play an intelligent pass in...near every other game. It has been infuriating watching some of these fellas playing half cooked sideways passes time and time again.
As you say, Dack has never, ever been a physical colossus, but he's a spark. He'll make the right move at the right time or alternatively will pick oit teammate's who make the moves for him.

Couldn't just see it out comfortably, eh? kin hell

Agree with most of the above. I would rather like Morton to calm down with the 'Hollywood' pass attempts as well. Just give it easy to the open man. He's been off with a few raking passes today.

However the thing we must take into account, our transfer budget is for the season, so if we do spend it all this window, then January will be a non event in terms of transfers.
Oh! That's really good info, chief. I was under the impression that the 10 mill being bandied about was the budget for *this* window rather than the season as a whole. Cheers!

Bad all around. And you have the feeling that the bench is too threadbare to make much of a difference. Interesting to see if JDT can get a song out of 'em in the 2nd half, but it looks grim thus far.

Beautiful! At halftime I was as cynical about today as anyone, but I'm thrilled they pulled it out of the bag.
Good stuff, lads.
