As boring as the squad is, most of the squad deserved to be called up again following the World Cup.
Theres no need for 4 keepers, and the likes of Lallana before his injury, Rose, Delph and Welbeck could justify a call up. Even Rashford but for a total absence of strikers, making Vardys situation even more puzzling.
Im not sure who could have been included. There are plenty of calls for the likes of Foden, Lookman and Sancho but none of them are playing much senior football. For all the praise Sancho gets for joining Dortmund, he doesnt play very often, nor will Lookman this season, and Foden needed a loan spell, he will barely kick a ball in anger this at City. Sessegnon could maybe deserve a shout for that left wing back role behind Shaw but hes not a guaranteed starter at Fulham anymore and has had form issues. Maddison and Demarai Gray have impressed in the first few games but im unsure if theyve either done enough to get an England call, or if theyd fit into the formation and way Southgate plays. Mason Mount as a wildcard shout following his form at Vitesse? Lewis Cook would certainly be more deserving than Fabian Delph but again, like Sessegnon, this season hes seemingly fallen out of favour. Ben Chilwell? Maybe. The one who for me hasnt been mentioned but deserved a place is Will Hughes.
I think the pool is so small. But i wouldnt have called up Bettenelli, Delph, Rose, Lallana, Welbeck. And I would have called up Dunk, Chilwell/Sessegnon, Hughes, Mount and Ive literally no clue on another striker. A choice of Welbeck, Deeney and Wilson shows exactly how weak we are in that area. Danny Ings maybe?!
Fair post. Think Callum Wilson has shown he can score at the top level although he certainly not world class. Danny Rose should still be in the England side IMO, when on form he's a top class left back. Madison and Chilwell are both fair shouts too.

New generation but picks Danny Welbeck ahead of Jadon Sancho at Dortmund and Ademola Lookman... Joke!

Really?
Rothwell impress me. Ran with the ball, took players on, work hard. Palmer didnt do this.
For me, Palmer did nothing in the game apart from miss a great chance. Ive not been impressed so far. Would prefer Rothwell to him. Palmer has shown to be show pony so far. I was expecting better.
Lad just scored 2 in 2 games.

Punished for not taking our chances in the first half. Can't understand why he took off Palmer, to me he looks a class above on the ball. Rothwell has done enough to be starting for us now, felt sorry for him being on the bench after proving himself more than capable. I can see why people were miffed with Bell but before we conceded the 3rd i though he was having an ok game, understandably people are calling for Williams back but It I'm not convinced that he's any better tbh. We can analyse this many ways but we in my view we lost because we didn't take our chances, pure and simple.

Not saying Palmer is a bad player but I would prefer Rothwell to be starting ahead of him.
Mowbray will not play Dack,Palmer and Rothwell behind the striker unless injuries force his hand.
See what you're saying, good thing about our squad now is we can pick players based on who we're playing against. I'd personally drop Bennet into holding mid with Evans and play either Rothwell or Palmer. Few instances I've seen Rothwell in holding midfield he's looked good IMO. Sets up play nicely.

I'l be honest I don't think Palmer has been great. He hasn't been bad but if Dack is fit and it's a choice between Palmer and Rothwell then Rothwell wins all day long for me.
Mogga won't play 3 attackers behind the striker.Bennett is an automatic Choice for Mowbray wide of the 3 behind the striker If he isn't forced to play him centrally and with the signing of Reed then I don't think we will be seeing Bennett anywhere other than wide of the 3 the majority of the season
Palmer has some similarities to Dack in how he can be quiet for periods of the game but can have potential match winning moments. His ability mentally gets the better of players at times, you can see players frightened stiff of him and there are periods were I've seen teams double up on him. He might drift in and out and need to work on the defensive part of his game but he will free up space for other players like Dack.

Did he play for the under 23's last night? Saw a tweet from Sharpe or have a misunderstood?

Success for me. Considering we kept our best players, added more quality and still have Rodwell and Davenport to potentially strengthen us further. Disappointed not to get Chapman, I think he could have been the difference for us in a few games that may have pushed us further up the table but realistically he will probably be a Rovers player in 4 months time, same for Bauer also. There is a lot of pace, flair, talent and hard work in this side now for the first time in almost a decade. It's sort of like watching so many other side's in the past and wishing our side had the same qualities, only this time we do.

The club will announce if there will be no incomings. The facts it 5pm and they haven't done just yet makes me think that there could be a small chance. Anyone if it's possible to get an extension to get loans done in the same way the permenant window works?
-
Like us with Mowbray, a lot seems to rest on Dyche, if he goes then it would be interesting to see how they cope.
-
Getting greedy but be gutted if the Chapman one didn't come off. Can see it being a too little too late situation on that one.

For the first time in a long time I wanted them in the cup. I'd love to see us play them with a full strength side now.

What time would a player have to be signed for tomorrow to available for Saturday?

Fair enough.
Can I ask who you would prefer if given the choice between Brereton, Marriott, Waghorn or Harrison?
Brereton. To be honest I'm not too convinced on Marriott either considering he's only had one good season. Waghorn is not an investment, too short term. Harrison might still turn out to be a decent signing for Ipswich, to get a player for under a million who scored 14 league goals in not a particularly great team, I'd say that's a no brainer and low risk.
The one signing I am pretty wounded about is Edwards after watching him take us to bits on 2 occasions. Unquestionable talent and definate resale value, his price has already increased no doubt.
As far as forwards go, I think you generally get less value for money. Overall I think Adam Armstrong could potentially turn out to be the best value forward in this league. Just hope he can get himself into double figures this season.

Have you ever seen him play Neal?
I known I posted a Youtube clip before of him to show posters the type of person he is
Yeah, seen him a few times. I'd banged on about him to friends being a decent player a while ago. All I'm saying is that I think he'll have to perform consistently well for us first before we can call him a good value signing.

I think 7 mil is steal. Still cant believe Forest sold him tbh.
I think both players will be bargains for this club
I'm not sure you can call it a steal until he's proven himself good value.

The only ones I can see definitely going out on loan are Travis and Nuttall. Other than that I can't see Whittingham or Caddis getting a move.

Are you going off this? "...there's three or four deals for similar money that haven't come off for us..."
I think he's referring to the speculative deals for Waghorn, Bamford, etc.; deals that never came off during the permanent window. I can't imagine there being more £6m deals being looked at when we're supposedly getting Brereton for that in January.
I'm enjoying the way things are going with the running of the club, but let's remember that the deal to buy Brereton is 1) option-only for us (if he's garbage, breaks a leg, then maybe we decide not to buy him), and 2) not definitive; maybe Venkys turn the tap off, or don't respond to releasing the funds. I hope neither of those cases is true, but for now, this is just a loan with an option to buy, and nothing more.
Aye but Freeman was a different type of player all together... I took it as if we were trying to sign a few for decent fee's.

Check out @BBCLancsSport’s Tweet:
Hang on... So we were trying to sign other players for similar fee's aswell as Brereton??? That's how I took this. How would we able to comply with FFP if these came off? I'm worried after making one big signing never mind two or three.
Says we're trying to sign more players too... I'm gobsmacked tbh. After Brereton, I thought that would have probably been it.

He is right, shook his hand last night and welcomed him to the club,I’m 6ft and he towered above me,6.3 about right and he also seemed a nice guy, good signing.
Wow, that's good then. To be as quick as he is at that size should be pretty useful.

Wise words from Mogga/Jagger about not burdening him with the beast of burden.
Also:-
I see raw talent," said the manager to iFollow Rovers following the 4-1 victory over the Imps.
"He's six foot three, he can travel with the ball, he can dribble, he can power past people, he can run without it, he can create, he can cross, he can shoot, he can affect football matches"That's what he looks like on those YouTube clips. Not really a finisher (yet) but he can do things no-one else at the club can since Chapman left.
6.3"??? I thought he was only 6ft. Is he right about that?

I have no idea why uneasy at all..
Hes a great talent and IMO we only get better just like Dack and Armstrong.
Mowbray builting a very good team which is British apart from 2 people. Great team spirit and we are going places under Mowbray. Great feeling and buzz around the club.
I think people are uneasy given the fee. He's not been playing first team football that long and a side in our league have been comfortable enough to let him go. There is a huge question mark over this one, many supporters have never seen him play or know anything about him. Obviously we won't find out until he's playing regularly for us but I can't help but think Armstrong could end up being better value. Just feel it brings a weight of expectation on both the manager and the player too... Hope it pays off.

Forest fans don't seem happy about the way he's left the club. Thanked his agency but not the club who took a chance on him.
