  1. Sharpe can't surely be peddling the same story as last week... Wages/fee too high etc... Most likely, there's an offer on the table and it's up to them. Although the way TM was speaking about Palmer seemed to suggest we're going into this season without Armstrong.
  2. So... If local reporter in direct contact with the club is saying we're not in for Nmecha... Does that make Alan Prixon Billy bullshit?
  3. Post wasn't particularly aimed at you just a general commentary that debating the advantages of loans and permenant signings are pointless from a fans perspective because we don't see sales reinvested into playing staff anyway. I understand why people crave permenant signings, I still do, I guess its a sort of tribal thing of a player belonging to us but I've come to accept in modern football, in our circumstances... It doesn't really matter anymore.
  4. A lot of talk of loans, resale value etc... Are people forgetting who owns the club in this Mowbray euphoria? Are people forgetting how they sold around 40 million pounds worth of players in 18 months and reinvested 300k in Derek Williams? If we get a decent player be it a loan of perm, be happy cus the bottom line is it doesn't really matter as sales are highly unlikely to be reinvested.
  5. “I’m trying to loosen the burden on Bradley Dack, Danny Graham, Dominic Samuel, those sort of players. They need some help and after losing Adam Armstrong, Jack Payne, Harry Chapman, we have really lost a lot of attacking minding players," I don't know why but I take this as Armstrong is one that he's moved on from.
  6. Hiya lads. Selling these at £20, deposit is a fiver as they need ordering in. Same size as the flag above 5ft x 3ft... Message me if you want one. Cheers!
  7. Its just Caddis one year extension... Chill.
  8. Its the fans adding the suspense... It's prob just media team having a bit of fun announcing Palmer. Hope I'm wrong.
  9. Its not, there was an article today quoting their chairman had rejected a bid and he isn't for sale.
  10. I recon it could be one from left field like Whittingham... Free agent perhaps.
  11. They must be pretty confident of getting the deals they want done with this Bennet thing on twitter... Because a couple of signings certainly will not be a 'busy week'.
  12. My guess will be Nmecha, Palmer and Armstrong on loan and a centre half permenant.
  13. So what we can conclude from this mornings LT is that if Armstrong is coming back it will be a loan and that our 'competitive budget' is about a million quid...
  14. Bauer not happening any time soon... https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/bolton-and-blackburn-both-miss-out-on-charlton-defender-bauer-as-german-offered-new-deal/
  15. I'm not so sure mate... Only 3 seasons ago we had serious interest in Sandro Wagner who couldn't get into Hertha Berlin side... He's now banging em in at Bayern when he starts. I've always maintained the German market is massively overlooked for value. The style of play is similar and the players (especially in Bundesliga 2) don't earn massive wages.
  16. Disgusting excuse for a human... On Pitman, 24 goals for a bang average league 1 side should tell us enough to know that he is far too good to messing about in league 1 whilst he has some good seasons left in him.
  17. And the champ... Got double figures in 3 seasons as well as double figures in 2/3 seasons in league 1. Bar injuries probably would have scored a lot more. He's one of the better more realistic signings we could have made IMO... I suppose it doesn't really fit in with TM vision of investing in players with potential resale value and Portsmouth would want a decent fee I imagine after last season but again... Proven quality.
  18. Aye but that doesn't make him a capable centre forward at this level, it's a complete gamble. We need some proven up depth up there, which is why I suggested Pitman, scored 24 goals for Portsmouth last season and mustnt be on mega money there either.
  19. I'm sure this lad might turn out to be decent but christ... We need an out and out centre forward! We're going into a season with our only capable centre forward being Graham who's 33 and can't do 90 mins.
  20. Go and get Pittman I recon. Capable goal scorer, knows this league.
  21. Hardly surprising Rothwell looked our better player, as he was signed based on how he gave us a hard time but considering how he and Palmer are attacking mids and Samuel is being player wide... We're literally going into this season with one 33 year old centre forward who can't play 90 mins. Mowbray needs to get someone in ASAP.
  22. Don't think you'll need to worry bout that under Mowbray. Reminds me a bit of Tomlin, also has buckets of talent, can be a match winner but chunky build.
  23. Hard to judge because they've played at different levels. I've watched Richarlison... In my opinion Dack would be better value for money. Convinced Dack could play for a top side.
