  1. What's crack with Harrison Reed? Has he actually played in pre season or remotely look like he's going to get a game for them? Not that I expect us to sign him but if he goes out on loan again he will be 25 years old by time he goes back there. Crazy. Surely sh*t or get off the pot with that one now?
  2. Wouldn't be upset to see Nuttall go, he's pish.
  3. This is weird, I was randomly showing my partner some of his other work yesterday. He's a friend of mine and a really decent lad. We went to school together and listened to hip hop tapes on the bus home from school. Not seen him for a while but always have a good chat. It's funny how quick people are to mock just because they don't get it. The scene he's involved in is a good one but you're not supposed to take it too seriously. He doesn't pretend to be someone he's not, he represents his accent and his roots, even if they're not considered cool but at least it's real, many of the guys from his scene are the same... Same can't be said for a lot of the fake, money grabbing, manufactured artists out there. Yeah it's not polished, yeah it's a bit of a laugh but it certainly doesn't mean it's shit. I'm proud of him. For people who want to know more, I liked this one he did in 'Cult of the Damned'.
  4. Definate hyperbole but he would be a usefull player for us.
  5. Need clubs to take them first. Plenty would want Mulgrew but not many could pay his wages. Same goes for Evans. I think Williams at centre half is pretty decent, he gets a lot of stick because of his performances at left back but he's not a left back.
  6. Words to that effect, I sem to remember him saying that he expected other clubs to be in for him too and the fee might be an issue... I could have well made that up.
  7. Mowbray confirmed we'd be interested in Cooper at the last fans meeting, so he's well aware of him and may even asked the question, I wouldn't be surprised.
  8. Bowyer didn't have the dressing room, he was a walkover. Many things I've heard back that up.
  9. I picked up on that too, Rothwell a "young player who needs to improve" he's in his mid twenties man! Planet Mowbray.
  10. You and me both, Rothwell is a touchy subject in particular for me, if he p*sses about with him the same way he did at the start of last season then I'll be wanting him out the door.
  11. Thing is, pretty much everyone of us knows that we don't need more players in positions who can "do a job", we need a centre half who's a f*cking centre half! The frustrating thing is, he should know this too... Better than anyone! If you look at some of my comments over the summer, I've been pretty reserved and very much not wanted to get wound up about transfers because I figured I'd just give it time... Now we're a week away from kick off and he's spouting conflicting, generalised rubbish when it would probably be better if he just said nothing. I'll happily have him eat my words if he dips into the market and gets a decent centre half, don't get me wrong I want him to do well, he's a good bloke... He just bloody drives me mad at times.
  12. I genuinely like the fella, even though I don't think he's the man to take us forwards but he doesn't half talk some absolute garbage. He definately gets by on his likeability, especially at Rovers, a rudderless ship where everyone has been scratching around desperately looking for someone decent to steer the ship but at another club with serious expectations of being promoted... I feel he'd be chewed up and spat out. Benefit of the doubt, it's his second season since we've been promoted but this is a massive test for him, I bloody hope he delivers!
  13. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17795892.rovers-boss-mowbray-likelihood-defensive-additions/ Seriously, what on earth is he wittering on about here? Let's keep in mind he was a centre half. He's considering Nyambe at centre half even though he thinks he's not a physical or commanding presence, what??? Openly admitting we didn't have men at the back last season and had to rely on youngsters... But is willing to risk another season of mediocrity and trust in untested youngsters again??? Of course, we all know he's trying to sell us Nyambe as a centre half to us now to accommodate Bennett at right back, so not only is he playing him out of position... He's now intending to play Nyambe out of position too... And what's going to be our right back cover? A centre half from City. For f*ck sake man, wake up! I've never known a manager want to make football so much more complicated than it needs to be.
  14. F*cking willing to spend 14 million on attacking players though! Seems to have a touch of the Wenger's, top heavy with no back 4... I don't know how obvious it can be. I'm trying to reserve my judgement until the window closes but with the new season a week away and there's been no improvement to what is quite obviously our biggest weekness... It's hard not to be p*ssed off.
  15. If he has money to spend and doesn't strengthen the defence then he's absolutely lost the plot. I don't know obvious it needs to be that investment is required, he even admitted it!
  16. I'm certainly not the type to ask questions of folk who relay info but... Does your mate know if we're actively looking at centre halves? (apart from the city lad). That's the thing that will make or break our season. It's so important we invest there.
  17. Don't know about anyone else but this doesn't fill me with confidence that a proper centre half being signed.. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/recruitment-never-stops-says-the-boss/
  18. Presume everyone would have preferred this deal. Including me.
  19. I still think we're going to sign a centre half for a fee. Combination of hunch and hope. Cooper and a left back and I would be getting excited. That left back position is a big problem in my opinion but I don't see Mowbray replacing Bell.
  20. Perhaps but he did imply that money was intended to be spent on a defender after the Rangers game. Hopefully that's the case. Ayala and Cooper have to be stand out candidates, although I bet Cooper will be on lower wages than Ayala.
  21. Aye just seen that and it raised my eyebrows. Ayala ticks a lot of typical Mowbray boxes though...
  22. If we're speculating that a centre half we're after might be one in the last year of his contract, then this is a list of championship players with a year left on their contracts... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/endendevertraege/wettbewerb/GB2
  23. You can only take him at his words, if he doesn't follow up then he'll likely and rightly get the stick he deserves.
  24. I wouldnt disagree that it seems unprepared and disorganised. At the end of the day the purpose of the window and what the manager will be judged on is to make the first 11 better... We can't judge that until the window has closed. I'll be massively p*ssed off if no investment is made into the defence.
  25. I'm just going off what Mowbray said after the Rangers game in which he implied we're looking to spend money on a centre half.
