  1. Present your ticket stubs or receipts for the previous games? The good thing about it is that say you absolutely could not attend and you didn't want to lose your discount privilege then people would be getting tickets for friends and still putting backsides on seats, there's an incentive to keep going back. I take your point about pricing being financially viable but it's also the money handed over the bar too and surely a seat filled at £10 is better than nothing at all?
  2. The phrase '20 is plenty' certainly applies to us but to be honest I think we'd have to go cheaper than that. Start at £20 and next ticket gets knocked down £2 each time you purchase one for the following game, lowest price £10, miss a game it goes back to £20.
  3. Enjoyable, frustrating and disappointing day, was like watching a boxing match at times. They came at us early on, we found our composure and went at them. Great to watch. We are definitely capable of beating everyone in this league, a tough side to beat and have some quality too, I think a decent season could be in store for us if we can keep the injuries to a minimum and keep this work rate going. What have Forest spent all this money on exactly? They looked like any other side in this league, their keeper was time wasting in the first half at 0-0 and their attitude of going down all the time was poor. I look at their side and there aren't many players I'd swap for ours. Another side capable of finishing in a playoff place or bottom half. Looking at the chances we had, hitting the bar, two goal line clearances, Graham's shot, Dack's header, Armstrong's one on one we should have put it to bed. That said, after first 15 minutes I thought we would be in for a tough day but I should have learnt by now that our side is NEVER beaten, we will always work harder than the opposition. Looking at some individual performances... Reed was absolutely class, if we have a chance to sign him then we need to get it done ASAP. Touch, strength, vision, speed and he's a though little f*cker. Danny Graham is arguably the best centre forward in this league, so clever and strong. Centre halves always know they're in a game against him, must be a horrible job marking him. Smallwood was good, tackled and passed well, maybe his best performance so far this season. Some other good performances too and i thought Rodwell did well also. Won everything in the air, couple of nice passes too, still looks like he needs to find his feet still (obviously) but gave us a physical presence. Seen a few daring to lay the blame of too many draws at Mowbray's feet... Come on, individual errors and bad refereeing have cost us points. There's little he could have done if the ref is going to award a dodgy penalty at one end and deny us more of a penalty at the other. I should add, what would people suggest we do differently exactly? All we need to do is keep plugging away and eventually the confidence to finish teams off will come, if we start thinking we need to change whilst we're already playing well it could do more harm than good. We'll learn, grow in confidence and at some point give someone a good hiding. Proud of this group of players, disappointed with the result. TMBWA
  4. But it shows what is possible though. Fair enough, the stadium might not be full every week but I'm pretty sure out of that extra 17 or so thousand we could win a few back with good football, a new radical pricing structure along with some advertising. Would like to see more offers, try something like all tickets 5 quid, buy 4 get your 5th free. Surely the role of certain people at the club should be thinking of ways to get that stadium as full as possible for every single game... Not just setting prices for season tickets and washing your hands of it.
  5. Was thinking about this, what about some sort of loyalty scheme that say your first ticket is 20 quid you get 2 pounds knocked off your next ticket and max lowest price is £10. If you miss a game then it goes back up to £20.
  6. Could do but thought it would be better to have a separate on to discuss each game attendances, innovative ideas to increase gates, away attendances and ticket prices etc...
  7. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16908899.tony-mowbray-feels-a-warmth-from-fans-to-rovers-players/?ref=mac Felt sorry for Mowbray here and thought was a worthy topic for some open and frank discussion. As many of you are aware, I was a big advocate of the NAPM movement and numerous other protests, particularly when the club was on its arse under Ke*n and Coyle. In these situations, as the saying goes... Desperate times called for desperate measures and if in some way our actions helped to get us in the position we're in now then I don't regret it... If we're being honest though, it was Kean and Coyle's downright ineptitude that cost them their jobs. These days things are much more positive, (on the footballing side at least) yet the aftermath of the damage done by numerous poor managerial appointments, poor management by V*nkys is having a major effect on attendences at home. It's to be expected of course, some people lost faith, lost trust, lost the habit, lost the enjoyment, there are many variables I suppose. I lost most of those things but I always believed this club could find its way back somehow, that's why I still cared and fought for its future. Like many others, under Tony Mowbray I've found something to believe in again, I feel as if he's trustworthy, honest, decent, commited, all the things that I can't say about hardly anyone at Rovers since they took over. Because of this, I feel as I can find some identity with the club again, I look at the way he conducts himself and how the players perform and personally can't help but feel they deserve my support. I can see how other fans of this club and of others would see this as fickle or such like, fair enough, that's their opinion but it's as simple as giving the fans something to believe in, which TM has done both off and on the pitch. Yes Venkys are still the owners and yes they are ignorant but it works both ways and 2 can play that game, I'll ignore their existence as much as they ignore ours but as long as they support TM I couldn't care less. I'm not so short sighted and naive to think that this couldn't all fall apart in the drop of a hat and I doubt many reading this are either, the debt is still there and they still own the club... Whilst V*nkys are in charge anything is possible as we all know. That aside I feel this is a great opportunity to get back to supporting the club whilst there is something/someone worth while to support and make the most of this opportunity... Which bings me on to my main point... The club also needs to do something to seize this opportunity, look at the Oxford game, it doesn't take a scientist to work out why there were so many fans. Empty seats are no good to anyone so why not just do something absolutely radical like season tickets for £150 or a tenner a game? Yet prices increased, I just don't get it. There was an opportunity to really capitalise on that Oxford game that was obviously completely overlooked, perhaps its the decision makers being out of touch with the previous years and general damage that has been done but to use the phrase again... Desperate times call for desperate measures. The club need to try something new, look at the Bundesliga prices, try something like all tickets from Christmas onwards are £10 and fill the ground as much as we can, it could be pivotal to keeping us up or pushing us up the table. I hope people at the club are reading this and if you are... Be radical, talk to the fans, give everyone of every income the opportunity to support their local team, be pioneers against pricing poople out of football. Don't look to other clubs as measurement for value for money, set a new standard. We are fighting an ever more losing battle against ifollow and the red button and we have nothing to lose! TMBWA.
  8. There must be things we're not aware of that Mowbray is, he's obviously playing it this way for a reason but on the face of it it seems like he's trying to buy himself some time from another selection headache. From a fan perspective, I've made similar points to the ones above, I really don't understand the point of giving first team football and then dropping him down again... It's literally the definition of 1 step forward and 2 steps back. He's not a kid, if he's good enough then play him or at least have him in the squad because we could really use someone of his height and physicality. He's been playing under 23 football and training with them at Sunderland when he was cast out, give him some responsibility and allow him to grow, it's not like time his on his side, he needs to be making the most of his career now IMV.
  9. I guess so but the last one it didn't even sound like he was tested that much and obviously first team football is worlds apart... There's no other way to get him ready for the standard of first team football than to give him minutes off the bench IMV.
  10. I recon that's an excuse to not give himself further selection headaches. Not sure how we expect to get him match fit without giving him some minutes here and there.
  11. And how is he going to do that if there are no more League cup games? To get match fitness you need to be involved in matches. I can totally understand the not rushing him argument but to give him a start and taste for first team football and then leave him out completely would in my view be a little 1 step forwards and 2 steps back. 10 mins at the end of a game is hardly going to burn him out. From a footballing perspective there might be a situation where we might need his height and physicality. Totally trust managers judgement on this one but just seems as he's only on a one year deal and is fit enough to start against a prem side then we might aswell start making some use of him and get him involved.
  12. Silly me. Palmer and Rodwell still ok though? Would seem stupid to have Rodwell start and then not have him involved in the squad, his height could be valuable if we need to see out a result.
  13. Really? Brereton should be on the bench ahead of Butterworth, Rodwell and Palmer not even in the squad?
  14. One definite contributing factor is our lack of height being exploited when teams get desperate and start playing long balls.
  15. At least he has some height. We seem to go panic stations whenever teams throw it in our box. On the whole, we're a small team, we need some big bastards to come on for last 10 mins to see us through.
  16. Just a bit. An improvement on what we have, looking forward if we could keep him, Rothwell and Reed in centre mid could run games.
  17. Had to turn it off after we cleared it off the line at 3-2... I couldn't deal with it, to read what had happened wasnt even shocking. That last 15 aside, I think that's the best performance I've seen under Mowbray. If we have a chance at getting Reed signed in January then I wouldn't be messing around, I've seen enough already. Danny Graham masterclass today, his best performance for us by far, top class. Cant fault any of them really. I think we should get in for Bauer again in January because our lack of height was really exploited in that last 15 mins.
  18. Raha needs to do us a favour with his kicking... You've had Jack all to do lad!
  19. Played some great stuff, some great short passing but noticeably picking our moment to only play it long when something is on. I can honestly say I've never seen a Rovers team work this hard, it makes me really proud to see. What worries me is of we can keep it up for another 45 mins. They will go direct with Crouch and I think we'll struggle with that, he always seems to score.
  20. What a move!!! What a pass!!! Work rate is exceptional!
  21. Under pressure here but I love the commitment from these boys, 4 or 5 of the sliding to block there and then chased em all the way back to their goal... Brilliant.
