  1. Aye but Freeman was a different type of player all together... I took it as if we were trying to sign a few for decent fee's.
  2. Check out @BBCLancsSport’s Tweet: Hang on... So we were trying to sign other players for similar fee's aswell as Brereton??? That's how I took this. How would we able to comply with FFP if these came off? I'm worried after making one big signing never mind two or three. Says we're trying to sign more players too... I'm gobsmacked tbh. After Brereton, I thought that would have probably been it.
  3. Wow, that's good then. To be as quick as he is at that size should be pretty useful.
  4. 6.3"??? I thought he was only 6ft. Is he right about that?
  5. I think people are uneasy given the fee. He's not been playing first team football that long and a side in our league have been comfortable enough to let him go. There is a huge question mark over this one, many supporters have never seen him play or know anything about him. Obviously we won't find out until he's playing regularly for us but I can't help but think Armstrong could end up being better value. Just feel it brings a weight of expectation on both the manager and the player too... Hope it pays off.
  6. Forest fans don't seem happy about the way he's left the club. Thanked his agency but not the club who took a chance on him.
  7. Still can't help but feel uneasy about this one. It's a big fee (for us) and feels a sort of eggs in on basket type situation. I hope TM gets this one right.
  8. Chapman only getting a few crappy minutes in a league cup game is hardly going to encourage him to sign a new contract. He'll be off down here first chance he gets. If he joins as well, this window will have been unreal.
  9. Nervy about this one... Really hope he hits the ground running. Last thing we need is him going a long time without a goal.
  10. If Sam Gallagher could've been bought for similar money then I'd be surprised if we haven't made an offer. One would have presumed that given the fact he's been here before and scored goals that he'd have been a lower risk signing. I'm looking forward to bringing Brereton in but it's a transfer heavily weighted on potential and not proven quality. Considering our wage to income balance sheet, spending this amount of money on this lad is a massive gamble. It will also no doubt bring some unwanted expectation on both TM as a manager to get a return from him and the player himself to perform given the transfer fee. If we're comparing to the business we've already done, I have to say Armstrong looks far better value for money, considering he already knows his surroundings and has scored goals here. Its obvious the lad is a good player, he seems to have everything you need from a modern attacking player but for this to be a success he's going to need goals, I just hope he manages to get himself on the score sheet soon to ease the nerves around this one. Overall I think I preferred us signing players for good value and going under the radar but if v****s are putting their hand in their pocket for once I don't blame TM taking full advantage of that whilst he can. Being positive for a moment, this should be a great environment for a player like Brereton to come in and express himself. There are plenty of leaders and experienced players for him to learn from and a lot of good young talent for him to mix with. Hopefully it will bring the best out of him.
  11. Fits the model this one, can play a variety of positions, including cover for Nyambe, has played at England youth level. I think there will have been some sort of discussion about the possibility to buy him come the end of the season. Lad is 23 and hasn't nailed down a place for Southampton so I can see them doing business. Strange how Norwich haven't gone back in there considering their fans seem to rate him.
  12. On official twitter and website. I think Brereton is more likely to be announced tomorrow if its going to get done.
  13. Pretty sure I read one of Rothwell's preferred positions is holding midfield and likes to carry it out from deep.
  14. Harrison Reed plays there and CM. Played there lots for Norwich last season.
  15. But also deserves criticism and to be called out for the chancing cretin he is. I think as long as its on a message board and not on social media its fine... Start taking his word as gospel on twitter and discussing his pea brained thoughts and he'll be thinking he's a brilliant. Imagine knowing that you've made a living out talking bullshit your whole life, The S*n is the perfect place for his nonsense.
  16. Pick one of the best players in the championship and link them with a team outside the top 6 in the Premier league, then pretend to be in the know and call yourself a journalist... Slow claps for you dickhead. Any prem club with a scouting network will be well aware of Dack... In other news the sky is blue and it might rain this year. Clown.
  17. Dack won't be going anywhere until next summer, 99% sure on that one. When he does leave it will be a for a damn sight more than 10 million measly quid.
  18. Was thinking the same but I can't see West Brom taking such a hit on his transfer fee and I think will be in their long term plans.
  19. I think we've been especially unlucky in specially one area of the pitch, can't remember us having so many attacking players out at once, it wouldn't be so bad of Graham could do 90 but seeing as he can't just highlights it a little more. I do think we lack a little depth perhaps but certainly not lacking in quality.
  20. Looking at their boards I can't believe the arrogance... Who do that lot think they are? "Should be beating sides like Blackburn"... No one has any right to beat anyone and a few of them saying they should be aiming for automatic promotion... ?? Very dangerous thinking that way in this league, you should look to take every game as it comes, teams who get out of this league do exactly that. I've seen many a team be tipped for promotion who've then struggled to stay up, if that lot start believing their own hype then they'll find themselves in a lot of trouble. Brentford are a small club who play decent football but who couldn't beat us even without Dack and Armstrong, they're better off keeping their head down and going under the radar like previous years. Just because they pass the ball around a bit doesn't make them the Barcelona of championship football, you need to win games a number of ways in this league or you'll be one dimensional and get figured out. We've played some top class passing football at times this season but to see us win in other ways is just as pleasing. Oh and Dean Smith the salty prick. Does he not realise how pathetic it looks blaming a football pitch because you didn't get a result? Jog on silly bollocks. They carry on with this entitled attitude they will struggle in this league, never mind get promoted. Today has definitely made my mind up about going to Griffin Park, looking forward to turning them over on their apparent bowling green of a pitch with a full strength side.
  21. Come on mate, we have quality just been unlucky with injuries. Once Brereton comes in we have Arma, Graham and Brereton all to pick from which are all capable. About your post about it not being a good window. Considering Palmer scored today and has looked good, Rothwell looking like our best player, pulling Newcastle's pants down for Armstrong, Davenport still to come through... I'd say that's a pretty decent window. That's not accounting for Brereton and Reed who still might come in and Rodwell who could go either way. Chin up.
  22. The way he draws players in and glides past em I could watch all day. Based on what I've seen so far he can be as good as he wants. Already looks more than comfortable in this league. Technically outstanding.
  23. Thanks for your efforts Perth... This in blue and white halves could be a winner! Also going to try and design something this weekend too. I'll share it here if I get roubd to it.
