I don't get how it's taken this long for the manager to work out that CM is his best position. He played him there against Brentford when we first signed him and he was MOTM. His enthusiasm to want the ball, the quickness in his play really livens us up and makes us quicker in the transitions from defence to attack, which suits the like of Dolan and Armstrong. I think he links us together really well now. Far too long have I seen Rovers teams far to slow on the counter, like running through treacle. Smallwood and Downing playing painful sideways passes and nothing possession football, now all of a sudden we have someone who wants to play in tight areas and attack space. It breeds confidence and a way of thinking suited to our players. I understand people's frustration with him but the manager has to take some responsibility in wasting a year of his development whilst playing Smallwood and Bennett ahead of him. His end product is questionable but in centre mid, he's finally found his place, I just hope the manager doesnt hang him out to to dry after one bad game.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Sheff United sign Adarabiyo tbh.
-
Mainly because he's actually a right winger...

One thing I was most impressed with yesterday... Seeing Lennihan drag someone down by their shirt when they were in. For too long have we been soft touches, with Johnson in the middle It just gives us that nastiness we need which breeds through the team. With Rothwell along side him covering ground it just allows him to sit in and pick his moments to push. I think they compliment each other really well and could never understand why TM didn't stick with Joe in CM after passing rings around Brentford at Ewood when he first joined. He's got the prefect engine and passing range for CM.
-
And they want Williams... Left back needs sorting.
-
He's definitely not dependant on a long ball but he was dependant on scraps from DG winning the 2nd ball in the final 3rd. I'm not sure he'll be quick enough or fit enough to fit in to this side and be effective in the high press.
-
On paper, I think Swansea look poor and weaker than last season. Not many I'd swap with ours.
-
Not at all, I've said how reliant we were on him because he was our best player but that's exactly my concern. We no longer need to rely on him, we have goals from everywhere. That said, I do remember many many games he was absolutely awful, especially without DG. If we can keep this form up, how can he improve us? Where does he fit in? As I said, I believe his success with us was heavily down to his partnership with DG. Listen, I hope I'm wrong, because if he can somehow make us even better then there's an even better chance of us getting promoted, so happy days. As this is just matter of opinion though, given the financial uncertainty, our current form, need to strengthen in other areas, I would sell for the right price. Remember, this is just an opinion on a totally hypothetical question... I'm not saying we should be hanging a price around his neck.

Opinions I guess but look how badly it went with Dack as a false 9...
-
This is as good as we've ever played. He made us better when we had the likes of smallwood in midfield... Those days are gone.
-
I dint say he wasn't but he has never scored the variety of goals Armstrong has, Dacky is a sniffer.
-
I can see what you're saying but I don't think clubs really know when to sell anymore. Don't get me wrong he has got ability but I've seen many a game pass him by or he's gone wandering into areas of the pitch where we don't need him. He's been out a long time too, there's no guarantee he'll come back the same. Sounds like I'm throwing him under the bus, I love Dacky but like I say... The art of knowing when to sell...
-
None of what I said is untrue though IMO. Also, he's nowhere near as good a finisher as Armstrong.
-
I'd be open to offers if there are any. It sounds ridiculous but I think he'll suffer without DG and slow play down for us on the counter. This team works, Dack doesn't have the pace to fit into the high press and quick transitions. Hope I'm wrong because he brings goals but we were far too reliant on him, it made us very one dimensional and I fear it may take us back to what we were. Now we have goals from everywhere and a decent fee would help at left back, a 2nd keeper and ease the financial burden which could quite possibly derail a potential promotion winning season.

My intention wasn't to coin a phrase, it's my genuine belief. Derby on paper look garbage, followed by a performance at Luton to back it up. If (like the manager alludes to) we intend to have a go at promotion then yes, we need and should be beating sides like Derby. If you look at many of the sides who have been promoted, they look to win their next game, not take a point, go and win. We have the ability to match the expectation.
-
	That was delicious.
-
Got to be looking at beating teams like Derby if we have any aspirations. Hardly a single player of theirs I'd swap for ours.

Rovers vs. Wycombe - 19th Sept, 3pmNeal replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard He's looked better than Lennihan at centre half on many occasions last season. I like Lennihan but he's definitely overrated due to his no nonsense attitude. Amount of goals conceded don't lie.

I'd be looking to move Rothwell to a left wing back and potentially play a back 5 if we can lure someone like Tosin back. Failing that, moving Rothwell to centre mid. I'd have no worries that he'd be better than Bell as a left wing back.
-
Wow, they seem to really rate him.

Daniel Ayala! DANIEL AYALA! He hates the Saudi's He loves the Rovers DANI AYALAAAAA! He's signed... Discuss.

It's all too nice. Was the same under Gary Bowyer and other managers. Come away from games thinking they haven't played badly but concede 2 and 3 yet always look like scoring. You have to do whatever it takes to get points, playing nice football and getting beat counts for Jack sh*t. Foul high up the pitch, take a yellow card, sometimes take a red if it's late in the game. There's still after almost 10 years of Champ football no commitment to a particular style of play, it's just, get some decent players in, wander out in to the pitch and see what happens. The only real style of play I can recall from Mowbray is when we were knocking long balls to Graham with Dack picking up 2nds. Worked really well to be fair, not the prettiest but it was a plan, then he mucked that up by trying this false 9 nonsense. Been saying for 3 years now, I quite like the fella but I've never known a manager make football so much more hard work than it needs to be. He likes the sound of his own voice way too much. Just shut up talking for once and sign some decent defenders man. Its a waste of good attacking talent.
-
Shouldn't be discouraging Dolan from trying something in the oppositions half. Let the lad express himself. He didn't cost us the game, the defence is just too sh*t to cope, that's the problem. Another season under this fella who has consistently failed to sort the defence out. Either sort the defence out pal or step aside for someone who can.
