  1. The Rothwell thing just has me in knots... Football is largely a stats focused business these days, so he swapped out a lad who scored 2 goals and numerous assists in a limited amount of games (Rothwell) for a 35 year old bloke who got 2 goals and 1 assist in 38 games. Not only that, what message does that send out to Rothwell? Everyone goes on about his man management but based on his treatment of him and Nyambe it looks like his man management skills aren't as great as people think... If you look at his treatment of Raya you could argue it's pretty poor actually.
  2. What we could end up with is Johnson and I think many of us would be quite happy with that at this point.
  3. Good. He'd be better off keeping it shut more often to be honest.
  4. I understand that we've made moves for some players but originally my post was about us investing large sums into Sam Gallagher (who I like) as a priority before sorting out our biggest glaring issues (defence).
  5. Don't think they will spend g a lot of money in that market, I think the whole point of it was to find low budget gems, based on what the manager has said.
  6. Why pipe on about the foreign market then?
  7. Adrian going to Liverpool after selling Mignolet.
  8. A point some people find too hard to understand. Well said.
  9. None of us want him to fail, he's a nice bloke but as you say if he doesn't sort out the glaring issues after openly admitting them and stating his intention to address them... Wow, that's a big slap in the face. Not only that but Joe Rothwell... What the fuck is he playing at???
  10. Now I know this is just your opinion but if this is actually the case (which seemingly it is) then it seriously brings into question his signing of Gallagher. It just shows how little a priority the defence is to him and how unimportant it is that we're scratching around with whatever change we have trying to sign some defenders in the last few days of the window. Total neglect to the foundations on what you build a strong side on. Absolute incompetence.
  11. Yeah, for the millionth time... IT'S NOT ABOUT ONE GAME.
  12. I've no problem debating with you, many people having given you quite in depth explanations and reasonings but if you're just going to peddle the same words and phrases then there's no point.
  13. Christ on a bike, you're still pedalling this argument of people being "reactionary" when some of us have been saying this over the past 8 months, you've been told this countless times. I'm not repeating myself to you, please learn to read posts yourself before telling others what and what not to read.
  14. Finally someone who gets it. Good post.
  15. And yet you fail to understand the point that most of us know that he won't be sacked after one game... Carry on fella.
  16. Perhaps you should maybe think about the fact that such posts are also intended to lean on the manager and the club to show that some of us are not happy and for what reasons... Rather than just clapping along and lapping up his ramblings and sub standard tactical decisions. Do I expect that he will be sacked? No but regardless of what stage of the season we are at some of us are not happy with the man in charge and haven't been for a while. Despite if you agree with it or not we have the right to express that opinion and questioning our football knowledge doesn't exactly endear you to these people or inspire decent debate either. I think you've been lucky that D. E. has been pretty decent and patient with you because some of us certainly wouldn't have been.
  17. Don't bother. People call you out for having too simplistic a view (like Mowbray) thinking you've formed an opinion on one game, completely ignorant to the fact that most of us have formed this opinion since February. If it doesn't suit your point of view then you don't know anything. The fact is Tony Mowbray is too nice a man for people to accept that he's not a good enough manager to take us forwards. I appreciate that's a really tough thing to take for some people, we all want to to see nice people do well in football but it's a brutal and results based business. If people want to ignore the facts since February, his nonsensical ramblings in the press and his lack of failings to sort out our defence when stats are ABSOLUTELY clear, well... That's up to them. Some people will likely be happy with mediocrity in this league but I fear based on what I saw yesterday that mediocrity would be an achievement. Someone said a while back that it's gone a bit Gary Bowyer mk2 and I'd absolutely have to agree.
  18. Ah, the classic "you know nothing about football" if your opinion is different to mine... The hallmark of any quality debate. I stopped reading after that.
  19. Its not about "one game".
  20. If you asked him the answer for 2 + 2 he wouldn't give you 4. The fella has lost it.
  21. This exactly what I've been saying all day. It's pointless shouting at Bell, Bennett, Mulgrew etc for how poor they are, we know they're not good enough, they play almost like they know it too, the source of the problem is the man in the dugout (a former defender) who can't see it.
  22. Abso-bloody-lutely. Pretty much nailed my thoughts on the subject again there. This is DEFINATELY NOT reactionary, most of you know my thoughts particularly of his treatment of Joe Rothwell from last season. This is a culmination of all the things mentioned in my first post. I think he somehow thinks he has a free reign at saying anything he wants without the fans questioning him because of him getting us back out of league 1 and it generally being a low pressure job, especially in comparison to other genuine promotion contenders... It's almost like he thinks we'll lap it up and trust him without question. He's absolutely blagging it at the moment and did so far the second half of last season. Our promotion momentum ran out and he's left without the skills to push us on. It's a shame really to see someone so decent just not be up to the job.
  23. Exactly my thoughts.
  24. I'd genuinely rather have Johno.
  25. Exactly. Doesn't matter how good we are goinng forward when we have a league 1 back 4.
