  1. In order to cheer myself up after Duffer left I bought Pearl Jam live in Boston (no 68). It's worth it for the acoustic set alone. Buy it Shillito, buy it!
  2. Just watch Blair, Hoon and Campbell duck and dive and try to distance themselves as far away as possible from this. An innocent, decent man caught in a huge battle between New Labour and the BBC. After his grilling at the hands of the commons commitee and in particular by Labour MP Andrew Mackinlay he looked a broken man. He was put in an intolerable position. But, by whom? I am not sure about Blair, but Hoon and Campbell need to look at themelves. The term "blood on their hands" springs to mind.
  3. thats what i thought... do you get the acoustic set as part of the bootleg? The bootleg contains the whole of the accoustic set plus the normal rockin set. Its on the website now. A bargain!
  4. Another Jammer! Welcome. I know I said I wouldn't be buying anymore bootlegs after buying two from the 1st leg of the tour. But OMG, PJ fans should take a look at the third Boston show. A one hour accoustic set before the usual show. In all nearly 50 songs! Its a must!
  5. Ah yes, the wonder of Not for you, Corduroy, Nothingman, Better man and Immortality. Kind of restores the faith. Just a pity you have to put up with Bugs and Stupid mop!
  6. Chirpy? Happy? Corgan? Are you sure Radaghast? As for your nuts, well we don't want to know!
  7. I have been listening to Mary Star Of The Sea by Zwan. I was always a big Smashing Pumpkins fan and wondered if it would be as good as Mellon Collie, Siamese Dream etc etc. Well it is. But the question has to be asked. Why did Corgan split the Pumpkins up? Zwan is hardly a change of direction. In fact it sounds exactly the same. But it is a top album. Good summer listening.
  8. Well I pain 240 Euros for 2 tickets! its really steep but I rekon its worth it to see them. The last time they played in Ireland was 21 years ago and I was too young to see them! I wasn't passing up the opportuity this time though! Do you reckon they will still sound good even at this age? 240 euros! What is that in proper money? :'> A mate of mine is seeing them at the MEN arena and the prices are scandalous. The best seats (Block A ) are £165 each! They will put on a good show though. For those prices they better had do.
  9. God! How much is that costing you?
  10. WTF!? As I understood it they were going to select one bootleg from Aus/Jap and American tour leg 1 & 2 for release in the shops. Which are they selling? And £17! Mine worked out at £12.50 each including air mail. BTW cant wait for the rarities album.
  11. Rumour has it that out-takes were on the internet a couple of months ago and not the real thing. Is that so?
  12. I know. I bought Atlanta and State College. Pay attention shillito :'>
  13. Glorified G is on Atlanta. Rarely done so one of the reasons I bought it. Along with awesome versions of Present Tense and Crown of Thorns/Chloe Dancer. McCready's guitar solo at the end of Black is astounding. Probably my favourite boot. (So far).
  14. I got that as well as Atlanta (no27). They really are in top form. I have been playing both of them non-stop for the last three weeks! Looking on the website, Phoenix from the 2nd leg of the tour is a must. Small Town, Given To Fly, Save You, Insignificance, Cropduster, Immortality, Blood, Breakerfall, Gimme Some Truth by John Lennon, Corduroy, Off He Goes, Even Flow, Daughter, Better Man, Spin The Black Circle, Rearviewmirror; 1st encore: I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty, Love Boat Captain, Black, Glorified G, Do The Evolution; 2nd encore: I Believe In Miracles by The Ramones, Indifference, Baba O'Riley Another purchase I think!
  15. Bought Hail to the thief by Radiohead today. Although it is something of a return to form, it is nowhere near the majesty that was The Bends. Will they ever return to such high standards?
  16. Try Jake Arnott. "The long firm" and "He kills coppers."
  17. Anything by Ian Rankin, Peter Robinson or Graham Hurley. If you want a book about footy you must read Broken Dreams by Tom Bower.
  18. The NME has always been the same. They are the ultimate in the build em up knock down. They have always been under the mistaken missapprehension that they are in some way guiding the nations musical tastes. W******!
  19. Top album. Gets better the more you hear it. Not as good as Ten or the mighty Yield but good all the same. I saw them at the MEN arena 2 years ago, but it looks like being a while until they tour Britain again. They have just toured Australia and Japan. They are now doing a massive US tour that takes them till the end of July. Looks like we will have to wait.
  20. Ah the wonderful Natalie Merchant. I used to love a song called Verdi Cries,I think it is on the very album.
  21. Bands not mentioned on here yet, The Pixies Sugar Buffalo Tom Teenage Fanclub All quality and all should have been bigger than they were.
  22. Europe before the match,Tina Turner after it. Who says we aren't cutting edge!
  23. Pearl Jam have the best idea when it comes to live albums. They release an "official bootleg" for every concert they play. On their last tour in 2000 they released over 20 cds of the European leg and 72 cds of the American tour. They are currently touring again, this time you can go to their official website and order a bootleg in advance (say of the gig you are attending) and you will have a cd of the concert in your grubby little mit about 3 days after the event, all for about £12. Have to say Hanx by SLF is top notch. And although I was never a fan Kiss Alive 2 is fantastic.
  24. Don't forget Plastic Bertrand. :'>
  25. Don't do what a mate of mine did Colin. When he was moving house he threw a load of his old records out. Some of them were worth a fortune (e.g. original Spiral Scratch ep)! Needless to say he is now gutted.
