  1. Neale Barry. Whats he got against us? Everything!
  2. Come on Jan. You have ommited to mention that the one thing you despise most about Souness are his Rangers connections.
  3. Yes, it was a strange team selection. Yes De Pedro isn't fit. (How do you get match fit without playing games?) Yes we conceded again from a freekick. (Fergie turned his back ) Yes we passed the ball around well, but with no end product and Yes Emerton once again flattered to deceive. Here is a player clearly lacking in confidence. On the subject of Souness and survival. I saw an interview with Steve Bruce this week on SSN. Now Brum had a good season last year and have spent a bit of money over the summer. Bruce was asked about his teams prospects and he replied "Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea will be in the top 3. Then Liverpool and Newcastle will battle it out for fourth place and the rest of us want to get to 40 points as soon as possible. Survival is the key for all but 5 or 6 clubs" So Souness is not alone, seems they are all thinking the same way.
  4. Rovers 2 WBA 0 Don't care who scores. Att 24,108
  5. 5,000 Rovers fans went to Highbury in the knowledge that we would play a weakened team. At the time we were 2nd in Div1 and promotion was a priority. Not difficult to understand is it? Or is your hatred of Souness so overwhelming that you have to criticise his every move?
  6. Looking at the new edition of the Sky magazine it previews the new saturday night show Football First on Sky Sports 1. The show starts at 8.25 and is hosted by Clare Tomlinson (worth watching already ). A full 90 minutes will be shown of a selected game then when thats finished you can choose extended highlights- at least 50 minutes- of a game played in The Premiership that day. In the words of Big Brother - "you decide".
  7. Sir Roger Jones Ken Knighton Simon Garner Honourable mentions for Johnny Price Don Martin Faz Tony Field Graham Hawkins Waggy Kevin Stonehouse Jim Arnold Terry Gennoe The list could go on and on!
  8. It will come as no surprise to anyone that I am currently listening to the new Pearl Jam CD Benaroya Hall. Fantastic!
  9. Medals aren't always a true reflection of a players worth. As an example, the greatest player in the history of the Premiership(in my opinion) only has one medal. And he won that with us!
  10. The picture is no clearer this morning. I wondered if Andy Neild would reveal who it was in his match report. But he doesn't know either. When asked, Souness was insistent on keeping his identity a secret!
  11. I am very dissapointed to say the least. I can't understand some fans glee in the fact that Cole has left the club. Was it my imagination, or did I detect a real work ethic in Cole in the latter part of last season, chasing no end of lost causes. Yes, in pure statiscal terms his goal ratio wasn't particulary good. But sureley this was more down to the style of play we employed. Cole enjoys balls played through into the box from midfield for him to run on to or balls delivered from wide. Did we do that? Can anyone honestly say we played to his strengths? Of course we didn't! We are going to be left with a strikeforce of Dickov, Stead, Gally and Jansen. I am sorry, that is know where near good enough, nor strong enough.
  12. Sad. Vey sad. Do you know how pathetic that makes you?
  13. Frustrating I agree. But in defence of Sky they are not responsible for PPV. My understanding is that these games are picked by the Premier League.
  14. Strewth! We have not even kicked a ball yet, and people are already moaning. This is really pathetic. Who have we missed out on? Name a player that has been signed by another club that we could realistically have bought. The anti-Souness brigade come on here making facile arguments with little or no substance to back up their pathetic stance.
  15. How much does the club get paid for appearing live on Sky? I know PPV is significantly less, but does anybody know the exact figures involved for the coming season?
  16. OK just for you Aug 21 Soton (A) 12.45 (Drunk after the match) Aug 28 Man U (H) 12.45 (Ditto) Sept 27th Charlto (A) Drunk before and after!) Oct 30th L/pool (H) 5.15 ( ) 21st Nov Brum (H) 4.0S ( Hmmmm) 27th Nov) Fulham (A) 12.45 (See Charlton) 4th Dec Spurs (H) 5.15 ( See L'pool )
  17. Charlton away again. This time on a Monday night. Spurs at home on Dec 4th kick off 5.15! What the......
  18. I suggest you read the letter again, it does mention a new highlights show on Saturday evenings.
  19. I thought I read somewhere that the direct debit deadline has been extended until mid July. Is this true? If so, perhaps the figures are really as a bad as some are suggesting. Have to say, when I went to renew my ST the place was far from buzzing. The whole thing just depresses me.
  20. Reports in this mornings Daily Telegraph say that Chelsea will offer Liverpool £20m plus Parker and Duff for Gerrard. The Telegraph say that Duff would relish a return to the North-West.
  21. Rumour has it that Rovers have offered Matteo a deal worth £22,000 a week. Reports suggest he is not happy at taking such a large paycut. Bless him! How are you expected to survive on such a miserly sum?
  22. Surely Souness has earned the right to lead us into next season courtesy of a promotion, a cup win and a top 6 finish. If you believe he deserves to lead us just because of a 4 game rally at the end of last season then what have you been watching for the last 4 years? Of course last season was a huge disappointment (particularly the home form), and his recent man-management skills do give cause for concern, but as far as I am concerned the manager is still well in credit.
  23. There is a god. You can't beat the original you know!
  24. I have that book, it is so good, very amusing had me in stitches some of the comedy antics they used to get up to!!! 12 months and 1 day since I posted that, still think its a nice easy read. If your into true crime books Essex Boys and Wannabe in my gang are both pretty good. The best true crime book I read recently was Wicked Beyond Belief by Michael Bilton. It tells the story of the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. Whilst it does go into detail on the attacks it mainly focuses on the failure of the police investigation. The number of times he slipped through the net is incredible.
