  1. The match report in this mornings Daily Telegraph (not a paper to indulge in wild speculation) says Cole will be on his way to Man City with Fowler coming to us! If that happens I might have to join Jim's Souness out club. Make no mistake, Stead will be good, Todd somehow got player of the year, but IMO Cole is easily the best player we have got. Are we really going to sell our best player two summers running?
  2. Rumour time. No price increase and direct debit interest free.
  3. The TUC Black Workers Conference. Of course that couldn't possibly be racist now could it?
  4. Well done on getting promotion Jan. You must feel good about it. Putting in all those hours of work. It’s some achievement isn’t it? After all, promotion is something to be proud about and should look good on your C.V. Make sure you don’t let anyone belittle the good work you have done. It could happen in a short amount of time that people begin to turn on you. Ignore them and be strong. Promotion is nothing to be sniffed at is it?
  5. Question. Is Tony Parkes fireproof? Is he totally absolved from blame? I know it may be unpopular, but I will remind you that before Souness arrived Parkes was ready to sell Jansen and Dunn. He also thought selling Duff and buying three players with the cash was "an ideal scenario". Now people want this man put in charge of the club in the midst of a relegation fight. If Souness goes, not only should Saunders go with him, but he should take Parkes as well. They are [/b]all responsible for our current plight.
  6. McCready * :'> Sorry, to many beers. After today, do you blame me?
  7. Stevie Ray Vaughan, the inspiration behind the guitar wizard that is Mike McReady.
  8. Some songs should be left alone and never ever covered. Comfortably Numb is one of them. Thankfully I haven't heard the cover and don't want to.
  9. I remember him saying that, but he then bought Emerton with the intention of playing him on the right with Duff on the left as part of a new look midfield. Then that damn Russian came along!
  10. Tis indeeed quality CR. By all accounts if you play the DVD on Windows Media Player you will find a couple of hidden tracks one of which is Hunger Strike. Must admit I haven't tried it myself yet. Not to obscure, eh Tucker? :'>
  11. Speaking of bands from Blackburn, whats happening with The Burn? Good question. Didn't they sack the lead singer or something?
  12. Really? And I thought you were a fully paid up member of the anti-Souness camp.
  13. I thought George Gregan was very gracious in defeat. It was a great final at the end of a great tournament. Thankfully the team that went there billed as the best team in the world return home as world champions. Be interesting to know what the Aussie press are making of it. Will we get any credit?
  14. It will come as no shock to anyone to know that I am currently listening to Lost Dogs the new album by Pearl Jam. The new DVD Pearl Jam live in The Garden New York is pretty special too. Afterall, you can't get enough of a good thing!
  15. One thing I noticed over the weekend is that the saviour rover6 has in mind for us Paul Sturrock could not lead his Plymouth side to a victory against 9 man Oldham. Obviously he is the tactical genius that we are crying out for.
  16. Without wishing to slag off Tony Parkes do we really want him in charge again? Don't forget the last time he was in charge he was ready to sell David Dunn and Matt Jansen. And I have not even mentioned his "ideal Scenario".
  17. I seem to remember another left-winger saying something similar.
  18. With respect Rev, the "needing to hear another voice" is often trotted out, and is one of the lamest excuses ever. For god sake, these are professional people getting paid thousands a week, they have a responsibilty to themselves and more importanly to us poor buggers who pay to watch them every week. They don't need to hear another voice, they need to earn their damn money. As you point out the current squad is more than capable of finishing in the top ten, time they got on with it.
  19. Blimey Abbey, have you had a few pints of the black stuff? More sense on the official board! Are you sure?
  20. Yes it does. What do you think of it? IMO Footsteps sends shivers down the spine and is simply magnificent! As is Indifference, Off He Goes, All Those Yesterdays, Given to Fly, Nothingman, Betterman, Faithful etc etc....
  21. Machine Gun Etiquette is a good album. Smash it up, Melody Lee and the awesome Plan9 Channel7. As for The Black Album I thought it was a direct reply to The Beatles White Album. How innocent was I? And you are right Ste Strawberries was also good. The only problem was my copy had the "sniffy" lyric sheet. The house smelt of Strawberries for weeks!
  22. I dug out The Black album by The Damned last week. Still sounds pretty good. Curtain Call, all sixteen minutes of it. Punk eh! :'>
  23. Just wait till you get Boston no3 Shillito! You will be back eulogising again!
  24. Hmmm. It would seem according to Nelly that you are well qualified to write for the NME.
  25. Strange one that. It seems the band made a decision before the tour started that Arc would not appear on any of the bootlegs. Nobody seems to know why. I have also been listening to Kings of Leon. Its very good but why does every decent release have to be "the best debut album for 10 years". Now its Kings of Leon last month it was The Thrills and last year it was The Strokes. All good, but come on!
