  1. I`m with Rev on this one.

Did you also realise that on 3 occasions in the 2nd half we had 11 England players in our own box to defend set pieces. There was a great shot of all 10 out field players all in a line in our own box. And people think we are going to win this thing?

Thats why we constantly look like were sitting back all the time, the gap from the midfield line to the forward line is half the bloody pitch.

It should be either Terry or Rio, both quite capable of bringing the ball out of defence, pushing out and urging the midfielders further upfield.

I dread to think what will happen when we get knocked out in the quarters

  2. Eh ?

What about Terry, who completely misjudged the throw-in and allowed it to bounce over him ?

Full marks to Sweden, who spotted England's vulnerability to driven crosses. In 190 years of watching the national team I've never seen an England defence in such disarray.

A "flapper" in goal does not inspire confidence either.

What about Ashley Cole's defending for the final goal too, he foolishly tried to cover the back post at the last minute when if he'd stood his ground Larsson would not have scored such a pitiful goal

  3. depends. if you live close to accy, you could have a soft-spot for them.

personally, i dont, and therefore couldnt care less about 'stanley.'

I live in Ossy and I aint got a soft spot for them, I get the usual 'well your from round here' to which I respond I was born in Blackburn and live in Ossy so I dont bother about them.

Work sponsor them and ive been offered tickets before but it really doesn't interest me

  4. Exactly. That was a close shave. Preston fans I know actually think they are a bigger club than us, and 'once' they get into the Premiership most of the people who live between the two areas will go and support Preston. They all seem so smug despite having lived in our shadow for years and years.

P.S One of the best chants to annoy them with is "You're not famous anymore!" (obviously to the tune of 'you're not singing anymore').

A few more clubs (and their grounds) 'nicknames'...

Manchester City - Bitter Blues (The Council House Stadium)

Burnley - Dingles, B*st*rds, Inbreds, Hunchbacks etc etc (Turf Morgue, Dingledome, Emmerdale Farm etc)

    Preston - Nob End (Dumpdale)

I'll add a few more later, need to get back to work B)

Hope PNE do come up soon, need revenge after they cornered us in Preston and tried to give us a pasting when we went for the pre-season friendly

  5. He's nothing but Man Utd scum. Rooney is no role model he's a foul mouthed thug and he always has been. The only player at Man Utd I consider role model material in recent years is David Beckham.

Rooney will show his true colours soon enough.

Wheres all the hatred over Man Utd come from, cos its certainly covering your eyes over Rooneys undoubted talent.

You really think he would balls up for us in the World Cup given the chance? dont talk rubbish

  6. Norwegians enjoying the 0.5% tax and crap connectivity in Malta.

Will they have Thwaites Mild at Ewood? The finest drink ever created.

Only reason I knew there was a Malta connection was when out one night in paceville and we got speaking to some guy who asked where we were from, one lad said Accy and he then said 'oh is that near blackburn rovers as we are sponsoring them next season' and I was told to keep my mouth shut by said members on here until it all came official!!!

  7. 2k+ at Blackpool,3k+ at Preston......we'll probably get around 1,000 tickets for Stanley if we're lucky!

    Should be played at Ewood.

Whoooooo free tickets and a p!ss up hopefully at FE Stadium.

Why at Ewood? Theres no chance we'd even hit 8,000

And I dont think as many Rovers fans will go as you think either

  8. Give the young lad a chance.

Look at Sven's track record over years, every time there is a major tournament he seems to take an untried, but potentially massive, youngster. Maybe he wont play many games, is that the point? the point is to give him the experience of this type of situation and learn from more experienced pros.

If im wrong I hold my hand up, but if this lad is good enough for Arsene and Sven, that'll do for me

  9. Haven't seen it, but I think if you'd just got back in the team after weeks out, got injured and didn't get a foul for it, you MIGHT just be frustrated.  You know you have to come off, and probably won't be there for the rest of the season.  I'm surprised all he did was throw away the armband!  Shows he's learned restraint!

Saw the game and its clear hes annoyed at getting back in the team and being injured on 100th game for Rovers. Some people are reading into this way too much, but hey, rovers fans do dont they

  10. rover.gif never mind who voted for emerton, which clown voted for savage, gordon.i voted for nelson who has been fantastic this season, bellars might win it,but imo misses far too many games, and does a bloody lot off moaning on the pitch tinykit.gif

Only cos hes demanding more of his team-mates, hes way ahead of them in terms of talent so hes naturally frustrated. I get what you mean, but it also shows some passion too doesnt it?

Why doesn't BRFC or Sky have a "Pub Patrol" or have a wall of shame each Friday in the LET. Every home game they have a van with a couple of heavies driving around in it finding places with dodgy TV being on. They could do their research during the week. It would be easy; come on here and ask where they can watch the game. They'd get 10 answers and would be able to pay the landlords a visit. They can be independent contractors paid in cash through a middleman with no connection to the club or Sky.

I think the dodgy TV watching is appealing just on the fact that it is illegal. I know people who could care less about watching football but as soon as their local or nearby boozer gets a satellite they are down there every week to 'watch the match'. The social aspect appeals to many. Landlords should bear the brunt of this, but they are apathetic to anything that involves them being responsible; they run a business that encourages drunkeness.

I still believe that all games should be on TV for access. Sky can sell them domestic only and have different packages for foreign TV. The growth of the game is happening abroad as I said earlier. The consistent ticket price/game saturation arguments are testament to that. I feel that the biggest growth markets are China with its billion people and the USA with its $ billions. Only this week Beckham was trumping himself by saying that he would love to play in America, probably to watch his bank balance skyrocket. He never harps on about playing back in England does he?

Dan, I apologise for getting your age wrong. Your posts did appear to be from a schoolie though.

Apology accepted, ya cheeky swine thumbs-up.gif

  12. Each person is free to spend money as they like so please, don't think I'm having a go, I can understand if you choose to spend your money on other things apart from tickets to Rovers games. However, you were always opening yourself up by saying that on a Saturday you spend nearly twice as much on alcohol as it would cost you to go to a Rovers game, I don't think you'll get much sympathy.

What I do in my social life is my own decision, as ive said I dont slate anyone else and dont expect any grief back
