  1. Welcome to the real World Dan.

Word of advice 1.  to you....get used to it it gets worse!

Word of advice 2.  to younger ones.  Listen to your teachers and study hard!  Jobs that seem to pay a lot of money in teenagers eyes soon become poorly paid when the full expenses of adult life are subtracted.

Exactly pal, im merely stating that football has taken a back step in my money world compared to when i was at college etc.

But when i get my ST back next season im sure I wont get the lecture some on here are throwing at me now

  2. Dan's responses are typical of today's younger fan. Going to the game isn't enough entertainment, a skin full before and a skin full after is also needed. To alot of young fans a game without a p!ss up is like fish without chips. Arguing over semantics of pricing is hardly convincing when the actual game figure is dwarfed by drinking spends.

I don't think any of us would disagree with the fact that the game needs changing and Rovers don't want to get shafted as a result. We cry into our pints over a few hundred (maybe) lost to foregin football. Imagine United? They can't build stands quickly enough to fit them in. How many black market fans watch their games?

Im twenty ******* three, im not a kid!

  3. rover.gif fair play to dmf he is telling the truth, many younger supporters think like him, what is football going to do to change his mind tinykit.gif

    £30 a ticket

£20 for beers before and after game, then probably another £30 or £40 after the game to make a day of it

few times a month? Sorry pal, my money stretches too far as it is. Im not the only one in the country with the same thoughts.

And I dont slag or call any Rovers fan, whether they go or not, so back off

by the way Waggy, cheers thumbs-up.gif

  4. Most of them pay anyway.

This is the worst news we could have had, today has not been a good day.  At all.

But at least you can sit in your pub eh Dan  withstupid.gif

I dont claim to be the most loyal fan anymore, part of me has diversified from it for whatever reasons or others (possibly with working a series of saturdays in the past 2 years), before that I was always at Ewood and various away games. Since I went past the young season ticket limit i cant justify paying the £30 a game price, then prices for ale and generally a day/night out. I will be getting a season ticket again at the end of this season, of that no doubt, but I will still watch the away games in the pub. Call me what you like, im not as big a fan as some on here and I damn sure dont claim to be.

  5. The stayaways(those who have no real excuses) and those who purport to 'support' Rovers behind the beer glass deserve to be 'slagged off' until they get behind the club and its efforts in person down at Ewood. You cant help the way you feel.

Fair enough MB, my 'rants' may not be what you want to here but if people got behind the club in the numbers like they have done in the past this thread would not be neccessary. If by chance a new visitor to this site is encouraged to attend by this thread then its served a good purpose.

I'll leave it at that  tongue.gif

Your like Vinjay but with a different motive!

  6. Quote Manc Blue ...That's not fair, I can't get up to Blackburn that early, any idea why it's been moved from 8 o clock, and why the town centre now?.......

                            ------------------------------------------

Apparently the police have been camped down there for the Condi Rice visit and can't be ar$ed to move back down to Ewood yet again . The fixture will now take place in the Cathederal grounds . All members of the community welcome ..... unsure.gif

I had a works do at Cathedral last week!

  7. I went to Hillsbrough, 7000 fans from Rovers, the blow up sheep, the loudspeaker telling us to sit down, it was packed. I was only 9

    394939[/snapback]

There werent 7,000 I know we filled top and bottom but we only had a few on that open air seating to the left of the away end

  8. I dont recall any trouble at Hillsbrough walking back, It had the hallmarks though as we walked right through their fans.

I remember some hassle at Ewood, I was sat in the Darwen End and coins were being thrown, the ex g/f was missed by a coin by a whisker. Thats then the coppers who looked like Darth Vader came into play!

Didnt they rip a few seats up?

  9. MGP contributes a great deal more to Rovers' general play than many give him credit for.

The pass he played Bellamy in with for Rovers' third against Boro was absolutely world class. He dinked a ball going across him first time through a narrow angle between two Boro players at different distances away from him to find Bellamy on side and played exactly at the right pace for Bellars run onto without breaking stride. That has got to be up there pushing for pass of the season and deserved 75% of the praise for all Bellamy's brilliance in finishing.

Disagree here Philip, pass of the season? a deft flick thats common practice in a lot of games that never comes off. Its one of them where you just get under it and use pace of the ball, I used to be alright at them when younger wink.gif

Anyway..... Someone who works at Ewood told me Scholes was at the game on Saturday, and after taking an eternity to believe him I thought it was potentially to look at either MGP or Reid, and it looks true.

He also informed me Dunny is keen on coming back, and Duff wouldn't say no
